Just because he checks first doesn’t mean the item might not belong to someone. He should still report it. Missing persons are sometimes found with items far from where they were last seen.
I absolutely love your channel Beau! You're like the kindest and genuinely passionate person on YT. Keep up the good work and thank you for making so many great videos
You always seem to enjoy most everything you find, Beau...(you must LOVE Christmas and your birthday)...that's one of the things that makes your videos so great!
This guy when I first started watching him I thought he was a tad crazy not going to lie but then I watched a few more videos and I realised he's actually a great person finding people's lost possessions and trying to give them back this kind or restores my faith in some of humanity 🙂
Mr. Aquachigger The Geologist here again. I was just thinking of a way to help you find the ford crossing that you are looking for. A shallow spot on a river is created and controlled by what is below it - the rocks - the geology. Have you thought about getting your hands on a Geological map(very common and available) for the area. I would suggest looking for a rock contact that crosses the stream or a possible fault(a small one). All of which will be shown on the Geological Map. All of these features can control water depths, rapids, and fall lines on rivers. Just a thought.
+Adam Rehn and +harryc Actually a Ford is where wagons etc. etc. used to cross rivers/streams before a bridge was there or where a bridge couldn't be built.
I found a woman's purse once on the river.... it was stuffed full of empty narcotic bottles lol. The names on the prescriptions were all different. It came from Brandenburg, Kentucky which is about 70-100 river miles away.
Beau, I use a Camelback almost exactly like yours to go diggin with. Once found a perfect snap in third seat for a canoe in a brush pile like yours while paddling the Shenandoah River! Made my day right off the bat! Congrats on your finds!
Aquachigger must be from Eastern PA, to be dreaming of Yuengling... I cannot believe how many commenters don't know a ford is a shallow place to cross a river. It is amazing how much a river can change in a short time. That deep spot might have been shallow years ago, or the river could have moved so much that the former ford might be on dry land now.
Went to Clark Summit PA last year for a Pocono nascar event and we had Yeungling for the first time! Was awesome, locals told us it was brewed right in that area! We don't get that brand here in Quebec canada. Going to Richmond VA this year hopefully theres some there!
When in the water you're looking for a ford for crossing the river or stream. I did enjoy the video very much. Budweiser Can???? I could have sworn I saw a Pabst Blue Ribbon Can. When I saw the bent Paper clip I thought a girls back pack automatically as I bend paper clips all the time at work to dig out coins in the catch all drawer holder. It doesn't always catch the coins and they get stuck. I dug out a quarter today. I put it into my Literacy Fund Collection bin. Keep looking for the ford Beau Ouimette
I have the exact same back pack, different model year. Awesome for cycling, running, being active. Just tiny capacity. Prefer the bigger ones that take a pair of shoes and some clothing. $100 packs! Toss it alright, but in the washing machine.
Great video Beau, and good thing ya didn't end up Finding ole' man Henry Ford's decaying body or an old Ford rusting away in the river, both would'a been nasty...Referring to your comments to harryc. lol...
Hey that's an old gen Military style Camelbak, 1990's buckles on that I bet! I had two in woodland camp. Anyways, sometimes they are found in military surplus stores, eBay, you name it. (A little rare though!)
+Beau Ouimette If by chance you are still looking for the ford you and I spoke of in the spot we spoke of....there was an incident there over the summer where a few kids had to be rescued and and extracted from the river in the area we were at. Boat and all sorts of implements were lost according to the owner of the property close by. I think you found a spoon near there. Just some info.
+Beau Ouimette Yeah that's what I thought too. He said they had all the emergency vehicles coming through his property and down the old road. Said they overturned and got caught somehow on the point in debris. Must have been young.
+Beau Ouimette Driving around today; crossed over the Chickahominy 3x, three different places, its pushin' a lot of water. Just checked USGS on the James; their gauge av of last week ~3.5 to 4 ft, last read today = nearly 10. With all the rainfall predicted from now thru weekend, might be some records set.
Please be carefull running your hands down inside bags and things. You never know if a person might have some type syringe/needles stuck down in there. Stay safe out there. Good luck, I hope you find the lost ford.
+skulledmonte84 Except that an hiv or just about anything else infected needle wouldn't do anything because hiv and many other viruses and things actually die very quickly outside of the human body. Might get tetanus, though.
Yo Beau, Shame it wasnt full of Dollar bills....or was it? and you are now on a flight to Scotland to have a nice cold bud. with me !! :) nice wee video, cheers,G;)
Aren't there a lot of mosquitos there? That must get really annoying! Crazy that you can do all this but I'm pretty sure you've gotten used to it. Happy hunting!
you really inspire me.. in a grown man with a wife and kids. we just moved to florida and would love to do this but in afraid I might get eaten.... the water is murky/brackish and the gators are scary incognito lol would really love to know where your at to know if you are experiencing the same things?
+Beau Ouimette Let me know if it comes up if you take a look!! I'm sure a few runs in the washer will kick the smell but I'm not too familiar with hellgrammites so I may be wrong lol
Personally, I'd toss the pack in the washing machine. Those are expensive & last. Maybe it could be some use to you.. She packed smart too. Water, food, sugar, first aid. Just forgot the all important part about not losing it in a river.
If you have ever seen the 411 videos regarding missing persons that vanish without a trace, a backpack find maybe huge for a grieving family member. Always drop them off at your local police department.
ok ok I have to ask this now correct me if I'm wrong because I might be confusing this with another channel, did you do metal detecting in the middle of nowhere like woods etc and find like ww2 grenades etc? or is that someone that looks similar
What state are you in? My dad works at a summer camp whree they sell those water bottles to the campers, they are from all over the world, but it would be funny if they came from that camp, I have like 3 of the same thing.
When you find something like a backpack, it is always a good idea to see if there are any missing person reports in your area.
Michael Delaware he checks before he goes.. so he doesn't go in an area where a dead person might be.
Michael Delaware iiii
Just because he checks first doesn’t mean the item might not belong to someone. He should still report it. Missing persons are sometimes found with items far from where they were last seen.
I absolutely love your channel Beau! You're like the kindest and genuinely passionate person on YT. Keep up the good work and thank you for making so many great videos

agree! always looking forward to his videos! :)
same I like this channel
every time you ask "shall we see what's inside?", i nod my head. i'm pretty agreeable
I like how you actually know things about the river
You always seem to enjoy most everything you find, Beau...(you must LOVE Christmas and your birthday)...that's one of the things that makes your videos so great!
+Beau Ouimette I especially like when you find bullets..."its a bullet!!!" That really puts a grin on my chin!
+Beau Ouimette Why no gifts?

The whole video I was confused. What did you say you were looking for? A ford? A Fort?
+Beau Ouimette Like an entire car? An old model or just a modern car.
+Beau Ouimette haha. What's a ford?
+harryc LOL...
+Adam Rehn and +harryc Actually a Ford is where wagons etc. etc. used to cross rivers/streams before a bridge was there or where a bridge couldn't be built.
+Shawn32671 Thanks
I found a woman's purse once on the river.... it was stuffed full of empty narcotic bottles lol. The names on the prescriptions were all different. It came from Brandenburg, Kentucky which is about 70-100 river miles away.
Excellent, as excellent can be! I was hoping you would pull a nice shinny Civil War Parrott Shell from the bag. LOL Thanks!
Beau, I use a Camelback almost exactly like yours to go diggin with. Once found a perfect snap in third seat for a canoe in a brush pile like yours while paddling the Shenandoah River! Made my day right off the bat! Congrats on your finds!

You are in my old stomping grounds then. I was born in Lancaster County, and my mother's side of the family is from Lehigh County.
Pretty awesome videos! Thanks for posting them! 😊
Id love a go at river dirt digging! Great vid as always :-) DD
That hand forged fork was cool.

I love watching your videos Aqua
you need to take a life straw with you, there cool and your always around water
I would not just drink from a life straw I don't trust solely on one thing
Super Moon I think there pretty good, I trust them
+The Man With No Name yea I'm just not sure about those I always boil it
+Super Moon I used one this summer on a canoeing trip and it worked great.
+Beau Ouimette just boil the water, fu(k the "life" straw.
At the start i was thinking why would you be looking for a shallower place for a truck? Then i realized it was fjord not ford.
Same
Same but then I thought ford as in a horse
Tyler Cuperus
It’s actually called a ford look up the definition of a ford and a fjord completely different

OMG, Beau did you hear about the 3 civil war cannons that archaeologists found in a river in South Carolina? That is an amazing find!
Great video Beau, and good thing ya didn't end up Finding ole' man Henry Ford's decaying body or an old Ford rusting away in the river, both would'a been nasty...Referring to your comments to harryc. lol...
I'm pretty partial to the Yuengling black and tan myself. It's nice to like 12 miles from the plant :)

I love this channel and I'm sure you love your job! I wish I could go on an adventure with you one day. Have you ever found anything good in CT?
Camel packs are spendy, usually round a hundred bucks. Worth it though, I've had one for over 10 years & it's still goin strong.
I’m looking forward to meet you someday and hopefully do some metal detecting together! I love your videos.
