Defenetly a subscriber now. Perfect review. No crappy music only the natural sounds of the car in it's natural environment. Love it!
Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive, the best :-D.
I'm not a Subaru hater, and understand the need for vehicles that are designed to be comfortable on road, as well as doing light, off-road activities, but this video featured Subarus driving on a man made course. If the path was built to be driven on, it's by definition a road. I'm looking at Crosstreks and may end up buying one. I don't care in the least about impressing others by driving over the biggest rock I can find, am going to spend the vast majority of my time in town, but wouldn't mind being able to go over mud and sand and ruts occasionally on weekends in the mountains with my dogs. A Crosstrek would be perfect, but c'mon, those are roads. Hell, there's even a teeter-totter in one of 'em. Teeter-totters do not occur naturally. Roads, man.
I just bought a 21 sport, mostly for peace of mind at boat ramps & lake access.
So they took a subaru out on a subaru approved off road course - sure like THAT'S really going to test the vehicles.....
How are the manual transmission ones now I heard they bogged no matter what when they first came out have they fixed that on the newest one that’s out now ?
Was any of these testers manual?
Diagonal test please!
soon :)
@@CarQuestion would you prefer the premium manual or the limited with cvt? I'm stuck deciding
My Mitsubishi mirage can do that trail breakfast
How Moose test results..
I wouldn't call the Crosstrek an SUV. It's not body on frame.
I wouldn't call it a Crossover either.
It's a lifted, AWD hatchback.
It doesn't matter what you call it, does it?
It's a crossover because it's a unibody. That's how I see it.
buy a 4runner
Alright buddy. Have a good one.
Ca que jaime pas dla CVT manque de power dans les cotes a piques !
CVT is big let down for this car.
not sure why, people that buy the car new can opt in for 100k 7 year warranty for 20 bucks a month more. I think you can even get a higher warranty mileage. either way, subaru CVT's are actually made by subaru; they don't buy them from another manufacturer. they are very good.
but even more importantly, with the cost of gas going up again - its good to have an AWD crossover that gets better gas milage than some 2x4 crossovers. and to a lot of people living in snowy/bad climates, that means a lot.
@@MarksTech true, but crosstrek would be amazing if ghey offer sti trim. Don you think, now its more like soccer mom car. If it was sti version it would be more rally type
@@luckyyou774 I wouldn’t say crosstrek is a soccer mom car. I think that title would go to the forester or Ascent. Of course if it had the STi trim, it would be awesome
my '96 Hyundai Accent could do all of this.
Dinsdale Drummond Uh, that's a big NO. Your Accent wouldn't make it through half those obstacles.
"Light off-road"... LOL, this course can be easily driven through by ANY 2WD car with high enough ground clearance. Hell, I live in a city with 8.5 million people where some of the streets have more challenging road surfaces (even during dry, warm air) than this joke of a course. Come on, Subaru, find a nice, deep mud field and let people drive through that instead.
Subaru won't do that. In fact, they stopped lending TFL vehicles after their video showing the Outback failing to make it up Cliffhanger 1.0
jabroni6199 that video TFL did is extremely inaccurate. Not only did they put zero effort into getting the outback up the hill, they also didn’t turn off the traction and stability control, which is essential to off-roading properly in a Subaru.
UvenDrake no it's not. My best friend had an outback. That's exactly what it does on a steep hill regardless of TC or xmode
I have a 2010 outback and I've drove it up stuff just as steep as what's in that video and it made it up the terrain totally fine. And that was with all season tires. Traction control slows you down when going uphill. Momentum is key.
UvenDrake a 2010 doesn't have a shitty CVT so that makes sense. The CVT stalls out when too much torque is required to get the car moving.
