Hey pilots! Tricker here and I want to welcome you to my channel on combat aviation. I'm a real world pilot in the Airbus 319/320/321 series and I enjoy DCS World, Falcon BMS, Falcon 4.0, IL-2 Sturmovik, X-plane 11, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
If you want to fly WWII aircraft over Normandy and the English Channel, then DCS World WWII is for you and they have plenty of aircraft to choose from such as the BF-109, FW-190, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt, and P-51 Mustang. If you enjoy modern aerial combat then you want to focus more on DCS World products such as the F-16, A-10C Warthog, AH-64D Apache, F-15, F-14, JF-17, SU-27, Mirage, Mig-29, F-18 Hornet, Mi-8, Mi-24 Hind, Uh-1 Huey, Ka-50, F-5, Mig-21, AV-8b Harrier, and the F-4 Phantom. Some of the mods that are out there for DCS World are the F-22 Raptor, SU-57, A-4 Skyhawk, Rafale, and Gripen.
I enjoy other games such as Total War, Battlefield, War Thunder, Escape from Tarkov, as well as Squad.

This video is really useful for people who just picked up the Harrier, yours is the most updated and to-the-point one I've seen so far. I'll share it to people who need it👍
Thanks! I'll be making more
Thank you for the tutorials! They are very helpful, since most of the AV8B stuff on youtube is quite outdated and Razbam has made several changes to this module over the years.
Yah there’s been many changes, now that it’s mellowed out I’ll be making some more videos
Keep making short(ish) ones like this one. It'll be easier to update them as Razbam changes the avionics once again 😁
@@TrickerDCS do you know what needs to be typed for the tenth markpoint? I have tried #TP10 and #TPX and both won't log into the harrier and it's frustrating to only be able to drop 9
Fast, simple and to the point, while still explain every step and button press - such a good tutorial, thanks! 👍
You can also add the points in the mission editor so all you have to do is import them into the computer when you get in the jet. I put together a how-to and gave it to Grim Reapers to talk to, they did a good job covering in. This makes pre-planned targets with JDAM ripple a possibility within the mission editor. Great video!
Thank you so much! Your timing is perfect.
I’ve just started learning this module and I really like your tutorials.
I wonder if you could do a short tutorial on navigating in the Harrier maybe?
It’s still so alien to me compared to the Viper.
Sure!
Cool! Thanks!👍🏻
WOW! This is amazing! I'm doing a two week trial on the AV-8B thinking about picking it up during their next sale and having a bit of a hard time learning the targeting workflow, but this capability really is a big plus for it.
Strewth, bloody awesome video mate
Been meaning to try this again since the update a while ago. The harrier is my favourite platform but there's always things to learn or improve upon. Thanks Tricker
You kids and your hashtags. Wonderfully comprehensive and concise video, brother!
More hashtagsssss ######
Impressive and awesome like usual
Thank you! Cheers!
Still (re-)learning the AV8B and this was new for me. What a powerfull tool! Thanks for explaining!
(I tried this on two MP servers and on one of them I couldn't place #TP markers. Is it possible that the server host can block this function?)
Good reminder video. I knew all this a year ago and forgot. 😑
As usual easy to follow and spot on the mark
Much appreciated
That´s a really cool function. Didn´t know it existed.
Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Verry cool video. Why is the process difrent when you are on the ground vs the air ?
Awesome! Is it typical for the last bomb, or one of the bombs to miss the target? I set up GBU38's pre-planned on the ground with 4 targets. Often times at least 1 bomb misses by say 100ft. thanks-
Awesome vid. Which ground camera view did you use to show the kaboom?
Ctrl f11 free camera
Great series you are doing in the Harrier. Very helpful videos. It is a beast machine for CAS, no doubt about it.
P.S.: I really wanted to see that blue truck blowing to smithereens, shame you didn't show the shot.
Haha next time! It was actually Optimus prime 👀
@Tricker He sensed the danger and said "Autobots, roll out", that JDAM missed.
@@sloppydog4831 hahaha
As an A-10C player, I'm crying at what I thought was easy to do in the A-10C 😭 Christ that's so much easier/faster!
Another excellent video Tricker, many thanks - I knew how to do this while in the air but not from ground, plus your explanation was really good. The only crit I'd make, and trust me it's a small one, is that you tend to go slightly too quickly for me to follow when you are doing something that is related to the main task, but isn't "the difficult bit" - so you carefully and slowly explain (say) the placing of the waypoint, but then just say "then designate ..." and click on something and one has to stop the video and backtrack to see exactly what you did. Now you could certainly claim that you're doing videos for more experienced users who should know A, B and C-style "easy" tasks, and you'd be right, but I always think that, when doing any educational or instructional video/presentation, it's a good idea to take it at a similar pace throughout, if you follow me.
Reading that back it doesn't read very clearly either so I've just fallen into the same trap ... damn! :) Anyhoo, excellent video and I'm always happy to watch your vids, and "like" them, as I have here. All the best fellah.
Great criticism, I’ll try better; thank you!
@@TrickerDCS Do please note: it's a very small critique and doesn't detract from the otherwise excellent video - I just wanted to make that clear. In all other respects it's a cracker of a video, IMHO at least.
@@jay_behr no I appreciate your honesty. I like good constructive criticism to become better and I appreciate your time and effort to help
Hey man, picked this up in the recent sale. Thanks for the tips.
Also, what resolution/monitor size do you use? Just curious
34 inch ultra wide
LG UltraGear QHD 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor 34GP83A-B, Nano IPS 1ms (GtG) with VESA DisplayHDR 400, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and AMD FreeSync Premium, 144Hz, Black a.co/d/agXgpSJ
@@TrickerDCS Roger that, I just got a 34" BenQ ultrawide...I love it. Last was a 1080 24"... serious upgrade. Take care man and keep those awesome Harrier vids coming!
Thanks !!
Is it possible to designate the target with th Pod instead of the Map ?!
In case you haven't tested this yet, yes you can. 😃
Is it required to name the targets # - TP - X or are some or all of these replacable? Especially on a multiplayer server with several harriers I'd assume there would be quite a lot of people using #TP1 as a marker. If not, how high of a number can you enter/how many target waypoints can the harrier import/can you skip a number when creating waypoints (e.g. 1245)?
I know I could probably just look it up or test it myself but you seem to be quite knowledgeable with the AV8B and I don't find the manual quite as easy to understand as your videos
I haven’t had any issues honestly while using this but not many people use this procedure ether
Do some servers deny the kneeboard usage / this fancy target function? I was unable to change the laser codes with the kneeboard as well as unable to add my #TP1 through 4 to the jet. Hmm
Can you do the map import with ED modules like the F16 F18 A10?
Unfortunately no unless you use a mod
Will this work in MP as well or only single player missions?
Both
Cool thanks for the tutorials so far
3:10 - it doesnt work in my case. I choose JDAMs and theres no "circle" on my hud.
And I did all the steps You did before You chose these bombs.
would this also work on the f-16 or f-18?
Negative, they don't have this feature
@@TrickerDCS thank you, as always keep up the great work!!
I don't know about the F-18, but for the F-16 you could release a series of JDAMS on mark points, similar to the A-10.
If you have multiple people entering target points on a multiplayer server's map is it smart enough to only grab yours or will it see everyone's?
I haven’t had any issues honestly… but I don’t think many people use this feature
Dont we all wish we could just #TP1 our problems in life :D
You're a big 1,000 pounder
No you!
