Thanks for testing and giving our Wheel Coating a chance, Matt! Can't wait to hear your long term thoughts. You are correct that the reason our coatings come in a non transparent bottle is for the stability of the coating, for both our Wheel Coating and PRO Quartz Coating. Without the non transparent bottle we couldn't put the stamp of "12 months unopened" with certainty. The coatings will start to react with light, and slowly cure. One thing you can do is grab some heavy grit sandpaper and sand off the side of the bottle once you use it, since by that time it does not matter if the coating reacts with light you only have roughly 30 days to use it and have a positive user experience. The grabbiness in the first wipe you are experiencing is generally going to be a characteristic of any coating that is high solids, meaning less solvent carrier, specifically ours using hydrocarbons as the carrier. If the coating is slick during initial removal that generally means there is more solvent carrier, which can be a good and bad thing! With wheels, you want the most durability possible, so the higher solids coating means the thicker coating film build, means it will weather through more abrasion and wear. You are certainly not wasting your time on the second layer, 30 minutes is within the optimal 30-90 minute timeframe for the coatings to crosslink together.

@@robl6044 We have actively tested this coating against everything else on the market, and it has been tested in the northern states of the USA with great success living up to or past our claims of 12+ months/15,000 miles! Every spring we would recommend doing a heavier wheel cleaning procedure and applying a maintenance spray whether it is something like our Ceramic Spray Sealant, or a Spray and Rinse type sealant of your choosing.

I appreciate your honesty with your struggles. I struggle with anxiety and driving. I flipped a car (hit a patch of ice and went over a rail) and that made it almost mentally too much to overcome. Then we had our daughter 2.5 years ago and it got so bad I didn’t want her to be in the car with anyone. I know it’s not exactly what you’re struggling with but I can absolutely relate.
As far as the wheel coatings go I’ve tried around a dozen and hated most. At our shop we use Modesta BC06 a sprayable self leveling high temp coating and they recently released a hydroponic top coat if you’re not into sheeting, and I love it. It crushes everything else I’ve used both pro and consumer. Just trying to help. Really enjoy the videos and content and hope you have a great Sunday.

Just saw this video. Coincidently I just applied this yesterday. I like how it goes from grabby to slick. It’s a good indicator of where you have wiped and where you haven’t if you can’t see it well. Today the applicators are rock hard similar to C5 which has been my go-to. Excited to see how it is to live with. Very confident in Brad’s judgement.

Nice video. In Bradley we trust 👍. I’ve use their pro paint coating, wheel coating and glass coating. I look forward to the performance of them. I would consider trying Pro on one of the cars you own. Slickness is on par with CSL but better hydrophobic’s and best of all one layer.
Bradley had a good line of products. And the last one I would say to try is the tire dressing Tire+. Not going to lie but it looks better than OG Tire.
The wheel coating is nice. You won’t need a topper like Gliss. It’s inferior to what the coating can already do. You will be happy with it.

I know you despise those IK sprayers quite a bit but it is the only way I apply Brake Buster with success using a 10:1 ratio. Marolex sprayers are far superior with the spray pattern on the Industry Ergo and I especially love the auto lock feature because it works great spreading rinseless wash. The Foam Pro 2 does a great job of producing decent foam for wheel cleaning for now but once I have access to running water I'll use my PF22 and Active pressure washer. I'm about two months out of moving into our next rental property and cannot wait to outfit the garage with Swistrax and other garage accessories!

@@ObsessedGarage Ammo has came out with a whole new line of coatings since ammo skin and reflex. His coatings did very well in a video by Chicago auto pros a while back. His claims are also not ridiculous like the carpro and gtech make great products. However, the claim for CSL stand alone is 5 years not being topped with EXO. That claim is very unrealistic and in most real world test it failed in less than 2 years. For someone keeping their car long term it’s not a good coating. Someone like you who has a couple of cars and mostly garage kept and you maintain then regular and sell them within a year or two that coating is perfectly fine and it’s something you like. I personally believe there are better coatings on the market than carpro and gtech has. Over the last 5-7 years other companies have caught up to them and some are just better and more durable. Ammo’s new coatings are fantastic IMO. It just comes down to personal preference and with some ease of use. I have tried probably 15 different coatings in the last 2 years and there are so many user friendly coatings on the market as well as coatings that are still pretty good in higher humidity.
