I'm going hard-core but I'm a huge Villainous fan so... 1. The worst takes it all 2. Wicked to the core 3. Evil comes prepared 4. Perfectly wretched 5. Bigger and Badder (I would've chosen Despicable plots but I hate Gaston and Horned King
Including all expansions ('stand alone' or not): 1) Villainous... so many options, and I havent even tried deep diving into any characters beyond Pete lol. 2) Terraforming Mars... I just got the Big Box 3D tiles but overall it's such a smooth "Generational" Type of game. 3) WIngspan... Newer one on my shelf. I know it's a popular one, but it's soo fun. Still need the Oceania expansion too! 4) Scythe was close... BUT one of their other games Viticulture does it better. Both are very fun as a 'slow start, furious finish' sort of game. 5) A toss up between Machi Koro -or- Minecraft: Builders and Biomes. The latter is unexpectedly great. And Root? I'll... have to try it again but we had a rough first two games with it. I think I got stuck at your comment that Root was easy to learn.... It was one of the hardest for me and takes the longest to explain too... that threw me off and we were tired out before beginning. Great video! Like seeing you upload stuff :)
Mine would be Spirit Island, Everdell (Because my wife loves it - I really like it), Imperium Classics,/Legends, Dice Throne, and Empires of the North. I was surprised that you had that one on the list too.

@@jennifereubank1357 with the clockwork expansion it can make it pretty easy to play good 2 player games. But you have to run a bot. However the new Marauders expansion next year will make it so you can play intense 2 player games with no bots :) yes the expansions to everdell have been wonderful.
Vast:TCC & TFF are also the games that got me to asymmetric games! If only The miniature expansion was on stock again... Still a lot of depth in this game, but the rules make it a hard game to get on the table as often as I would like
It's a great word game the rules for the way points are scored is unique and it can get pretty hilarious at times when you dont wanna lose your insanity but sometimes you just gotta go for broke and hope for a good roll on the dice lol a couple others I enjoy are Coupe, Root, 5 Tribes, the Forbidden Desert and Island games, Ticket to Ride and good ole fashion Chess of course there are tons of others out there that I absolutely adore I could go on and on all day lol

@@LordoftheBoard - I play Tapestry 2-player with my son too and he loves it. It took the title of favorite game from Scythe for him. I think he might actually win just a tad more than I do. I really enjoy that game.

This is hard! I'd like to imagine that some good games that wouldn't make it (Root?) would go to some board game heave. (Board game hell is obviously just monopoly for all eternity)
I would highly recommend it for 3 or 4 players. Then you get to see all the factions and how they interact. I believe with a two player game you’re stuck with playing the cats and birds or it becomes super unbalanced
It really depends. If you have the clockwork expansion me and my wife enjoy it. But the new Marauder Expansion is supposed to improve the 2 player experience without the use of bots. It is really great at the 4 and 5 player range. but personally i like it at all player counts.
The experience is just insane. It took risks - especially with the goblins being so complex and the cave being the board and having the flexibility to generate the shape of the map. Those elements just add the quirkiness that just makes me love it more. Vast TMM though is easier to teach :) but nothing beats the OG vast with a table of people willing to experience it
@@LordoftheBoard very interesting - I'm a big root fan and definitely plan on getting vast once I have a consistent group I know will be in to play it consistently and I had been leaning TMM cause I had heard it was a bit smoother but if TCC is a bit deeper and more variable that could change my mind. Definitely looks like a great game regardless!
@@LordoftheBoard Yeah that's my issue right now too! I have an easy 2 player count but idk if I wanna play my first game of Oath with 2 people and a Bot. It probably would be fine but I'll just wait lmao
@@LordoftheBoard we play the definitive version of 2. The biggest group we got at one time is 7 people in a lobby. We have about 10 people who have the game in the group with different amounts of skill so no matter where you are you would fit in!

Definitely has a barrier to entry based on the rule amounts. But oh so very worth the experience
