I love WildFly, but my crosswater broke the second time using it small stream fishing for small brookies. No reason it should have snapped like it did and it left me using my larger setup for those small streams. May be a good beginner rod, but you get what you paid for.
Or there was a defect with yours or something happened to it that you did not know about. Mine has been fine for a couple years and everyone else I’ve talked to with one said for the price they like it.
Does the non-metal reel cause any issues? Im relatively new to fly fishing and my only fly outfit has been a White River Fly shop Hobbs Creek outfit, and while its good, I want to pick up another fly rod/outfit. Im on the fence about this combo because of the polymer reel. Have you found that to cause issues? would you recommend I get just the rod or the combo? if just the rod then what other reel do you suggest? Thanks!
Anyone know the difference between the Crosswater and the Path? The Path is just a little bit more and I was wondering if it was worth the few extra bucks?

Cody Madison you know to be completely honest with you man I have no idea. I have only fished with the crosswater. Sorry I can’t help you out with that one
I have a PATH and it is a medium/fast action rod. I think one of the only differences would be the components. My buddy has a CW and they are very similar. I actually like the color on the CW a little better. Thinking of getting one in 4wt for local small streams.
Is the reel plastic or metal? It looks plastic, great video.

I am looking to purchase a new rod but I am a beginner. I live in Florida and will be doing a mix of freshwater and saltwater. Is that possible with this rod?
Michael Kent absolutely, I’d recommend you get a 6 weight in it so you can use it for both.
