So good!! Okay, admission, I actually didn’t notice Everything Everything had released a new album so learning that was VERY exciting, but also this is, as previously stated, SO GOOD!! Your skill is mindblowing, truly. I was wondering, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you learn how to make arrangements? Also, how long did it take to learn? I’ve been playing guitar for two years and I can’t even imagine being at your skill level, but it’d be cool to try! Thanks!
omg thanks haha I'm honored for This to have been the thing to have informed another EE fan of the new album, must be a strange experience v: I've been wanting to cover a song of theirs foreeever but this was the first one that worked out (I may one day actually play the Duet piano arrangement I made well enough to actually make it through a whole take of it lol) I was self-taught so I probably picked up bad habits and whatnot but I've been playing for a pretty long time, like 15ish years, and I definitely still do a good amount of practicing and defffinitely don't get these takes in one attempt lol. I think I just have always had a habit of wanting to figure out how to play songs by ear and kept doing that a bunch, which taught me how to pick the chords out of things etc., and then later on getting an interest in certain types of fingerstyle playing (people like joey eppard and, he's cheesy but john mayer lol) and learning a lot of that sort of thing, and then just a little bit of everything else over time basically
haha it's very possibleee, I tuned it by ear + I tuned each string down a whole step to match the key, and then dropped the E string down another whole step so the intonation is probably pretty wack
I still watch this with pure amazement
