I can't help but think most reviewers still fell for the MSRP even if they factored in that it would cost a lot more as the reviews were generally favorable. You can get a superior 6600 for around same or less in real-world prices and that card got less favorable reviews on launch. Gamers Nexus called it "Insultingly Bad Value". Thanks for the honest recap.
I wonder how many of the reviews were using the eVGA cards that had the higher priced card's bios on it by "mistake" and then posted the higher numbers and failed to disclaim that the bios was not the correct one for the card, Steve at GN and ToT are the only one I've seen that called them out on the bios trickery.
So is your gripe with NVIDIA for releasing a card that is full featured which everyone wants to buy or with scalpers who bought them all and relisted on eBay or people who are purchasing them from the scalpers which enables them to stay in business?
At this point If the card is selling for $600+ your better off getting a RX 6600 as it is closer to the 3060. Well If you can find it under the price of the 3060 and the 3050 or waiting to see what Intel could do For me I can spot some rx 6600s in stock for under $500 while the RTX 3050 Is $550+ online and the only way you pay less is through shuffle or queue
You and Steve from GN are the only reviewers I've seen with these eVGA cards that called out the bios trickery that they are trying to say was accidental. I have serious doubts as to how accidental this was as nVidia has pulled tricks like this and way worse for their entire history.
i have 3 currently 1050ti and Im pretty sure I paid 149.99 for them. They play 1080p just fine in Most games... We also have 2 1050s that dont require a pin. and I know I paid 99.99 for them.

all I have heard is that card worth less than 300 and you shouldn't pay more for it, but it's already out of stock everywhere, crazy world we are living in
Sucks for review channels as it's hard for them to review something and end up not able to recommend anything. So what should a new pc gamer get instead? Some have been waiting over a year now. I say cut corners in the build in other ways, new lowest end 12th i5 is good enough or even i3, a basic case, basic heatsink, bronze psu and a 6600XT card, 1080p 144Hz screen. I don't think another 3 months will change anything. In 6 months we might have Intel but Intel cards are totally unproven.
Hard to review something when they ship you a product that isn't technically the retail product because they sent it with a bios that clocks it higher than it's supposed to be. Huge props to ToT and GN for pointing it out and calling it out.

I have no idea what you're saying the 6500XT and 3050 trade blows... they don't... the 3050 is faster in pretty much every game and category by a decent amount, and this is backed up by countless benchmarks from many reputable sites, including Gamer's Nexus and Hardware Unboxed... The 3050 is faster than the 6500XT any day of the week and slower than the 6600... as usual, price will determine what's the better buy... if all three are the same price, the 6600 is the better buy... but if they 3050 is cheaper than the 6600 it's a good buy (relatively speaking and screw those scalpers). But there's no case where you can say the 6500XT and 3050 "trade blows"... they simply don't. Also, the 3050 is a good chunk faster than the 1650... simply put, in multiple benchmarks from multiple sites, the 3050 has roughly the same rasterization as the 1070/1660 Super/1660Ti... right in that ballpark... which, once again, puts it FASTER than a 6500XT and SLOWER than a 6600.
@@karathkasun They're just not in the same class at all, and "tweaking" a 6500XT is A) not stock (always love the guy that compares an overclocked GPU to one they choose not to overclock) and B) "tweaking" the 6500XT isn't going to cover the huge gap between these two cards, I don't know where you're getting your numbers from but there is a SIGNIFICANT performance difference between the 6500XT and 3050, it's not a minor difference. Having said that, if you can find the 6500XT for $200 and the only 3050 you can find is $500, I suppose that might be the only time to consider a 6500XT... but the 6500XT is a really bad investment, even if you can find it for $200... the card is hobbled on PCIe 3.0, and only 4GB of memory, that's pretty obsolescent for 2022. I mean they literraly took a Mobile GPU and slapped it on an add-in card... cheap is cheap and that's what you get if you buy a 6500XT... CHEAP... if you want to go AMD, the 6600 is faster than a 3050, if you can find it same price or not much more than a 3050, the 6600 isn't bad at all.

Remember when the 750ti was 150$? Those were the days
They are still about that price
At this point If the card is selling for $600+ your better off getting a RX 6600 as it is closer to the 3060. Well If you can find it under the price of the 3060 and the 3050 or waiting to see what Intel could do
For me I can spot some rx 6600s in stock for under $500 while the RTX 3050 Is $550+ online and the only way you pay less is through shuffle or queue
Awesome video elric.
You and Steve from GN are the only reviewers I've seen with these eVGA cards that called out the bios trickery that they are trying to say was accidental. I have serious doubts as to how accidental this was as nVidia has pulled tricks like this and way worse for their entire history.
Paper launch? Where is the 3050 in newegg?
Lol a 130 TGP card does not need a 550W power supply at all. Im using the gigabyte OC x3 gfan rtx 3050 with 5 year old 500W PSU.
Damn it's about time youtube pushed me a video 📹 👍
Cheers
Back in my day budget cards were $150
i have 3 currently 1050ti and Im pretty sure I paid 149.99 for them. They play 1080p just fine in Most games... We also have 2 1050s that dont require a pin. and I know I paid 99.99 for them.
After a lot of search, my friend was able to get Msi gaming X 3050 for $410 from a retail store. He was waiting for over a year and was using rx 570 4GB to he took the bullet thia time.
all I have heard is that card worth less than 300 and you shouldn't pay more for it, but it's already out of stock everywhere, crazy world we are living in
got very lucky and picked up 4 gainward rtx 3050 ghost's for $320 each and 3 zotac rtx 3050's for $285 each
Street price is $450, RX 6500 XT street price is $270.
I appreciate your honesty in this video, and I agree with everything you said. I don't blame you for being p*ssed off at the whole situation, the whole GPU market is just a clusterf--k right now.
And now the crypto-miners are going after gaming laptops! 🤬
It is knows for them to communicate with each other. One time red wins, the other time the green one. It has been like that for more than a decade. It's a win win situation for them, and a big F. U. for everybody else
Some models are already around 500 bucks here in the PH. Just freaking disgusting.
At this point I think the only hope for PC gaming are laptops.
Not for much longer! Like locusts and roaches, crypto-miners are now moving into and infesting the gaming laptop market! Anything with a high-performance GPU is fair game now. Soon enough, console games (PS5, XBOX and the Switch) and Apple Silicon (M series) won't be safe. 😰
I don't think this absurdity of ongoing 2x msrp gpus' prices is gonna continue much longer. I think at some point many governments are gonna take serious measures to achieve a short-term and a long-term solutions.
stop relying on the government to fix everything.
This is permanent. Every thing will be boted. It will never stop as long as people keep buying from these assholes.
@@camtwan1 Governments are exist for a purpose which is to mange the lives of ours and to solve complicated problems. Who you're gonna rely on to reduce inflation or to come up with a better health insurance?!. I'm sorry but this tip only comes from someone who lives in a country governed by dictatorship!.
@@jeff666p People are gonna get tired or at least won't have that much money to pay these repugnant prices and then the situation is gonna change for sure. Besides, the future of cryptocurrency is married to uncertainty and what you get from this sort of marriage is a volatile value which can either hit thousands of dollars or the complete opposite!. @@jeff666p Why you are saying "permanent"?!. Do you have psychic powers and the ability to see what is gonna exactly happen in the future?!.
I bought an RX 580 8gb 2 years ago on newegg for $169 same with a R5 3600 $169.
You can throw it my way :D
My cousin started asking me for the card before I even got one man....
How are you being told that you'll see one by Chinese new year, there no way to even reserve them anymore, and what web site did you even go to to get a notification when instock, am not finding any of these sites. I'd like to be able to reserve one as well, there's no more reserve on Nvidias site. And at this point, it seems as if no one will get one unless u buy a pallet of cards for mining. The hopes of finding a GPU these days are like listening to story's of unicorns.
It was MSRP for like a week here in Poland hah.
Seeing scalping directly from retailers.
The 3050 also has dlss which is essential on the low end
You can go through and tweak settings and 6500XT will be faster at the same settings than the 3050. Just not at ultra settings due to VRAM limits.
May as well buy a 6600 XT for the price a 3050 goes for. It's faster still and available.
@@Mopantsu But other reviewers said it sucked but praised the 3050 so most folks think the 3050 is faster. This is how Nvidia won
Hey brother, I hope you're strong insha'Allah your UA-cam channel will pick up again, I'll keep liking everyone. Hope you and family are well
Thanks Anthony God Bless you and your family man..
If I can get it at 300, still beats my 970
great video!
how many of the resellers of cards are really with nvidia or amd I can't believe that the manufacturers are letting someone else make all that money over MSRP
It would be a real shame if the names and addresses of miners got posted somewhere....
In Poland GTX 1050 Ti cost sth about 249$...
Only a %200 markup on a laptop gpu? Not bad 🙄
i count my lucky stars dailey that i bought my 3090 just when they came out...yay
i still watch and keep up with graph card prices but it doesn't seem to budge. This could be a long wait. I dont know why they cant make a bare bones cards just for mining coins??!!
ill be running my founders 1070 for the next 5 years.... Im NEVER going to pay 2000 for a card that in 2 years is worth 400
Nice Video!!
For that kind of price, just get a good gravel cycle and take up excercise as a go to hobby(if you haven't already).
Even the used market is fucked up.
Just put up my 1070ti on a site, just to see what sort of outrageous price I could demand and I got 2 buyers for 480 and 500$'s.....!!!
Got to be a sucker paying 600
you know i have a 1st rev rtx 3060 12 gb gddr6, and it cost me 703$ Can. And honestly i'm happy with what i have. besides that i have 2 gtx 970's and a sapphire edition rx 590 8gb gddr5 variant. if i could get my hands on a rx 6800 xt with the same amount of ram on it as my rtx 3060 i'd be happy as a pig in shit. but even i paid to much for my 3060, however at least i got one lol. but i do understand what you're saying about stuff being to expensive. i mean i just bought a corsair k70 se mk2 and that was 250$ . i guess it's safe to say, you want nice shit. You gotta pay for it. like it or not. And until all the consumers REFUSE to buy NVidia cards, they will rip people off. i also find it funny that the rtx cards are not even 2 ghtz. 1.9 if i'm not mistaken. kinda odd for an rx 590 to be clocked at 2.10 ghz. amd software looks better anyway. ask yourself why nvidia needs to have hdr enabled to get 10 bit display, when on the amd software you just flip a switch n restart. but i don't want to keep pointing things out that i'm sure you're all aware of !! BEST ADVISE, DON'T BUY ANYTHING NEW AND SIT ON WHAT YOU HAVE CURRENTLY !! sry for caps
I'm happy I have my GTX 1080 TI going keep it till this BS is back to normal
Wasn't even a week 😢
$600 ? No, no, no! Hell no!
I saw about 8 or 10 RTX 2060s (12GB) cards at my local MicroCenter selling for $469. It's a much better card than the 3050.
Not at that price it isnt. You can get decent gpus for 470 usd if you hunt properly that easily hand an L to the 2060 12gb.
if you lied about the price alot of things would be half their actual cost MSRP is just that a manufacturer's lies about the price
GTX 1080/ TI Gang!
God I'm so sick of all the scalping and greediness I'm sick of it I think we all are at this point I'm putting my foot down I am not spending money and giving in this is ridiculous I guess I'll keep my old 970 forever
Might as well buy a Xbox Series S at this stage. 300 dollars and you get everything for 1080p (and some 1440P) gaming. The GPU PC market is DEAD!
That’s why i biught series S. Also i own old alienware 15 r3 with gtx 1060. For me it works perfectly))
GPU prices must make for some easy videos lol. I mean what gamer doesn't know that cards go for double on ebay, takes 1 minute to check and see. This has been going on for 3 years, you're an idiot if you thought the 3050 was going to be magically "unscalped." Reviewers are literally posting the exact same video on every gpu launch lol
Already sold out.
I'll stick with my 1070, thanks.
wow 6 bills for a hundred dollar card. There are suckers born every minute.
Even 250 seems too much more like 200
Honest Reviews are hard to come by.... These days.
I would just say FUCK ALL THESE PC MANUFACTURING COMPANIES.
Rx 6600 will massacre this evga 3050 at $459 in newegg
You're better off getting a used GTX 1080 or 1070 Ti for way cheaper off ebay or facebook marketplace wtf
That s today !
At $600, why is anyone buying this card? You could buy a 6600XT for the same $600 and have 40% better performance. Or buy a 2060 at $500 and have 20% better performance. Seriously, why are all of the Nvidia gamers so excited about the 3050?!?
Good luck finding it $250 it’s going like $600 on offer up
Its the dam scalpers and ethurium junkies
I rather get 1080 ti over 3050
Even at 250$ its not worth it, i would probably buy one at about 149$, if i would need a cheap crappy GPU for 1080p, but for 1080p an APU would be enough. Not such a big fail like the 6500XT, but still a fail at 249$, at 600$, who buy at this price has not understand anything. If Team Blue take a version with igpu, team Red take an APU, and wait 6 month 1 year or 2 years, or try to get a console.
this is a joke, not only the price but the accessibility,
I'm disable and i try to get a NVidia 30 series card since January 2020 as o start to build my pc in dec 2019 still cannot get one up to this date.
And i refuse to pay a scalping price! they only sold at store and i check for years now, bestbuy in my case don't even list the availability can't even tell when they are going to be in store.
i can just walk just by to check if they have one left.
Anyway short story i decide to stop playing stick on my old geforce720, just sad i cannot do some editing video capture as i would like too.
used market card are also insane 400$ for a rx580
also i don't know if they realize but ppl plays way less these day. game kinda got bad repetitive, have less content and they all after you're money with micro transaction, all online game as a shit ton of cheater, this is going to turn again them.. bcuz a lot of cheaper card run those game over 60fps a medium , and a lot of ppl will just do that,
Refurbish old dye that din't past for a 2060 for 600 $, no thx u, i just hope ppl know this. china gigabytes new eggs stay away from them they trying to fuck us over again..
you got my subs for telling the truth....decent card for 249$ but can even order one.
there needs to be a ban for scalping :/
48000 tk in Bangladesh
You can get a 6600xt for less and it will soundly trounce the 3050 so IMO its a stupid buy.
God just make it stop.
the situation with the graphic cards market is a joke. What a scam. Entry level card for 600$? Jeeeeezzzzz
Pc gaming is going to end fast if this is going on. Only idiots pay these crazy prices....
This is precisely what I always say minus the pc gaming apocalypse. Be more optimistic and hopeful for a better tomorrow even if it's dark and gloomy and there are no sign of solace.
Nope, its bigger than ever! ✌️🇺🇲
@@bm373 For now, as soon as PC gamers drop games will drop and it will be really bad for the PC comunity.
well you r wrong, 3050 is a direct replacement for the GTX 1660 no the 1650, because the msrp is 250$, this is the same performance at the same price price 3 years later, which is fucked up even if that card is seeling at 250$, but it's selling for double that, fuck nvidia, and fuck pc gaming at this point
So many of us are just keeping our hard earned money in our pockets. There must be a lot of pent up demand out there. Crypto sure has a lot of shitty things to answer for. Simply not sure Crypto is a good thing from a societal or environmental point of view. Good for crims and that's about it.
Don't worry man BItcoin mining is being banned around the world. Slowly but, surely it is happening.
@@KeikoFXDesigns can't come soon enough.
Lmao
Just buy a AMD RX 6600 instead!
Lol evga charging 300-400 more for their MEDIOCRE 3080 cards. Joke company.
If you wanna game just get a series x for $500 and save yourself $2000 .. you can play in your living room on your big screen also and move around.. 🤣
Good luck finding one for 500. You can do a lot of more a pc. ✌️🇺🇲
