"Amateur hours" always grab a driver off the tee when when it's like a 380 yd par 4. Peeps want to hit driver then rather think about their score when they're playing. They don't care about their score in that case. My 3 wood can carry 260, and I hit it straight. So my driver sits in the bag when I'm not hitting it properly. You guys make great videos, and it looks like you have a great time out there feeding off of each other's energy. love watching this series. While I'm not caught up yet, I hope you do a season 3
Same thought I had. During every golfbidder challenge, Rick would grab a driving iron because "he just can't play a round without one in the bag." Proceeds to hit driver every chance on a super windy links course.
I have to say I love the fact you’re an amazing golfer yet still show how everyone has their slumps in this crazy game. I’m 3 years into the game and I’m trying to break 80 and it’s frustrating going from shooting 83 to 89. One of the charms of your channel is that you aren't afraid to show your tough games as well as the games you sail through. You are a bit after yourself though aren't you? And unjustifiably I think. You played a decent game on a properly evil course under near-gale wind conditions. Sometimes when a round goes like this you have to take a step back mentally and look at it educationally. This is the time to learn. The sat-down rough lies, the 2-feet-below-the-soles, the balls that simply refuse to drop (btw I counted only 3 lip-outs this time down from 6 in your last video so that's an improvement). If you can bring yourself to carry 2 or 3 shots that were difficult but you made something of them (or even if you didn't) in your mental golf bag, then your trip around the course was well worth it. Its not all about clubs, or the right ball, or even playing on a course that looks like a Carribean vacation. Sometimes its just not giving up. Having a partner like Guy along with his constant stream of encouragement couldn't hurt either.
So fun to watch you Rick play every amazing course on break75 and to see you play my home course is amazing to watch. They are deffo the normalish conditions we kinda face every round. Hope the pro's have it like you did

Hi Rick. I just started training golf just last sunday, and yesterday i reached 160m with my 4 iron. Your videos have been helpfull big time. Keep it up mate!!
Rick one thing puzzles me. You started the video by telling us that Tiger Woods, arguably the best ever, didn't hit driver when he played in the Open at Liverpool. Then you went out hitting driver ending up in the rough. Any length you gained with the driver was lost to the rough. You also reduced the spin on your approach shots and ran through the greens. I'm wondering if shorter but more accurate tee shots might have led to better scoring.
Hi Rick - thanks for the photo after your sky segment- you were so kind to me and my mates. They say don’t meet your hero’s but if Rick is your hero I couldn’t recommend meeting him more

Here's an exercise for you Rick. A Ben Hogan 56% Beryllium lob wedge. For the life of me I can't understand why they don't make them anymore and I couldn't be without mine. I've holed from 80ft, holed from bunkers, controllied the pace landing on the green, basically everything to do with a lob wedge, I have been successful with my Ben Hogan 56%. You say your game around the green is not so sharp at the moment, well pick one up and try one. I recently had to replace mine and I got if off ebay in mint condition for 70 quid. I had my other since 1995, which I got from a iron bin in a pro shop. To this day, it's still my favorite club. Love to see you out with one, that would be awesome to see.

@@TheRonHockman fortunately I have found the perfect ball for me 😁. Unfortunately it is a pro v1 🥲
@@TheRonHockman I did the exact same a few years back when I found a metallic orange colored Bridgestone e6 ball and immediately fell in love with how soft it was and unwillingly became accustomed to its orange color as well.
Love the videos Rick. Great courses and wonderful commentary. I've been watching all your videos whilst undergoing some rather tough medical treatment.
Just remember it might be a tough day on the course but you're cheering up some golfers who can't get out and play because we have other stuff stopping us getting out there. You're doing a good job.
Hope you get well soon!! sending good energy. ( if thats even a thing)!
Loves the open course break 75 challenge, but I'd quite enjoy if you done like an actual open test, by that I mean play over 4 days and see what your score would be?
Hi Rick. I just started training golf just last sunday, and yesterday i reached 160m with my 4 iron. Your videos have been helpfull big time. Keep it up mate!!
I’m surprised that Rick doesn’t fix that hook he hits. It puts him in jail so often.
Great video, royal Liverpool is a cool course i’d love to play it.
This channel is so pure love it
Today i broke 100 for only the second time and by 9. I feel the struggle.
Hi Rick - thanks for the photo after your sky segment- you were so kind to me and my mates. They say don’t meet your hero’s but if Rick is your hero I couldn’t recommend meeting him more
I understand priority should stay on RS (the originator) but knowing Guy's score alongside would be nice...
Not sure i will be able to accept... from Canada...
Awesome video, love to see your commentary and persevere through your rough moments. Keep it up Shiels!
Let me also add, Guy is quite the sleeper. He’s got some incredible skill. Would be curious to know how he finished at
Perfect video to show the heart of the game of golf. Playing with your good friend on a wonderful course that can rip your heart out and make you love it at the same time. Thanks for your great videos Rick. And you too Guy. I feel sorry for anyone who has ever played golf and not fallen in love with this great game.
well since tiger didn’t even break 75 today i’m gonna assume you didn’t either rick, sorry mate!😂
😂😂😂😂🙌🏾
It was cool seeing Tiger walk up 18 though 🐯
Street fighter comps are the best!!! Had the worst round today in about 2 years. Just pulling everything. I needed this. Thanks for the videos and content.
Would you ever do a review of the p7tw irons?
How many people will pay $2,600 for irons? 🤔
That street fighter edit was so good! I love your guys animations/editing skills
Series 2 - not enough different playing partners like the head pro, min woo lee, Hannah etc. Banter and course management was great. It’s been guy week after week.
What a vid! Perfect timing too
First
I love the street fighter reference with long drive/closest pin challenge idea, nice touch!
I had the privilege to be invited to play here ahead of 2014 Open. You have brought back the re occurring nightmares it gave me for days after. this is one incredible tough course. loved the Vid
Hey Rick! I know you won’t see this but I’ve been watching so many videos by you this year and today I FINALLY broke 90, getting an 87 today! I started the year at 38,2 handicap and I’m at 19,4 now after about 20 rounds. Thanks for all the videos you produce!
I love the little mini challenges with Huy throughout the round! Nice little added touch!
That course looked brutal. Keep it going Rick!
Love the editing in the videos nowdays, enjoying every secound! 👌🏼
Been loving this channel. I really enjoy watching your swing, humor, and interesting challenges.
Love the Break 75 series Rick. Adding Guy into the mix has been fantastic! Love the banter and comradery between you two. I loved Guy turning into a 5 year old and making about 50 extra footprints in the bunker when he won the challenge! Great episode!
Rick i shook your hand at st andrews on Thursday your a down to earth guy thank for even taking those 15 seconds mate, i will always follow and support you, like i said to you in person you’ve helped my game big time as well ! I love you
Was a junior member here :) absolutely loved it!
Thank you Rick break 75 is gold 🙌🏻 would be great to have Guys scores up on the screen as well!
I can't be the only person who wants to see more of Guy's golf and his score
I think last week or so he said he was working through some swing changes and either flushing it or shanking it. There must also be added pressure with the cameras on…
Great vid man
These are just getting better and better...amazing editing, making me lol during work. That Long Drive insert was ...what do you say over there...Class
Guy saying "that may be in" seems to be the kiss of death for Rick's shots lol 😆 great video
Great video and love that you share the harder condition videos with the higher (but still great) scores! Any merit to doing a putter fitting video?? We have seen you jump around a bit over the years and it might build confidence to try it!
Great round in tough conditions, also a great golf course. Thanks guys.
The g425 may be the best driver I've ever seen you hit, you absolutely blister that bad boy!! Love your breaking 75 and golf bidder vids! I've worked night shift for 41 years and it gets me through the night at breaks!!⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳
Enjoyed this one alot. Good game Rick, your mental game has improved a lot. You kept your head and it payed off, no big scores. Fun to watch
Always enjoy these Video's.
I was divoting on the 16th ( 18th for the open ) and when you came past you did look a bit wind swept the pair of you. but you still has smiles on your faces !
Beautiful golf course, probably my favourite 😍
Love this series, great video Rick! Also love retro arcade graphics and 8 bit sfx!
What a great series this is.
Hey, fan from Rome here. I'd love to see you come to try break 75 here in next years' Rider Cup course!! Great job, love your work!
Solid Video Rick !!
Your videos have inspired me to start playing again. I had quit because I was discouraged with my game and life in general. But watching has made me want to try again. Thanks.
the last shot commentary into the next shot editing is awesome.
Excellent as always
Rick remember you hit clubs for you tube content. you are a class act, and we all love watching you. Love it when you play with Guy as he has such a level head!
I'm from Hoylake Rick but have never been good enough to play here. Course over the railway line is the one I use, looks like a tough day for you in those conditions. Thanks for the great video.
What a great test that was . Golf is tough to love sometimes .
Amazing to see you and Guy in the background of the 150th coverage. You had almost as many fans around you as the players.
Love the addition of guy to the videos.. great compliment to rick
Great episode as allways!
@RickShielsGolf 👉@Telegram only Did I? Wow! Thanks! How do I get my prize?
Wow that looked so tough! I played in the wind last week but with a lot more trees. Watching this shows the standard of Rick's game. I would've been happy with that performance. I'd be bragging!
