    I just want to say thank you Rick, I have struggled with depression for a long time and I came across your golf bidder challenge with Peter, and it inspired me to get out and enjoy this wonderful game. Now I'm getting out of the house more and have a real passion for golf, which has helped me so much. Thank you Rick and Peter Finch.

      "Amateur hours" always grab a driver off the tee when when it's like a 380 yd par 4. Peeps want to hit driver then rather think about their score when they're playing. They don't care about their score in that case. My 3 wood can carry 260, and I hit it straight. So my driver sits in the bag when I'm not hitting it properly. I would stay at home in this kind of wind. Give me snow or rain but fk the wind. I'd take these scores all day every day.

    One of the charms of your channel is that you aren't afraid to show your tough games as well as the games you sail through. You are a bit after yourself though aren't you? And unjustifiably I think. You played a decent game on a properly evil course under near-gale wind conditions. Sometimes when a round goes like this you have to take a step back mentally and look at it educationally. This is the time to learn. The sat-down rough lies, the 2-feet-below-the-soles, the balls that simply refuse to drop (btw I counted only 3 lip-outs this time down from 6 in your last video so that's an improvement). If you can bring yourself to carry 2 or 3 shots that were difficult but you made something of them (or even if you didn't) in your mental golf bag, then your trip around the course was well worth it. Its not all about clubs, or the right ball, or even playing on a course that looks like a Carribean vacation. Sometimes its just not giving up. Having a partner like Guy along with his constant stream of encouragement couldn't hurt either.

    I found a ball in the woods yesterday, and decided to try it out. Hit my 3W about 240 yards when that's normally a good driver shot for me. I couldn't tell if I had figured out the secret to adding distance, or if it was just the ball. I then hit a 3/4 power lob wedge for my 45 yard approach, and it went at least 20 yards past the green into the woods. Then I hit another ball for the same shot and it went right next to the hole. It was the ball.

    • @JZ-xu3vg
      @JZ-xu3vg 2 роки тому

      Nice point!!! If it wasn't for lake balls I would just be buying the 50 pack at big box stores. I find prov1s occasionally and there is legit a 20 yard distance in my drive. But i'm too lazy and cheap to start buying them, and i'd also have to re do all my distances, and fill in gaps, not to mention my short game and putting would likely suffer. Its a big commitment to bounce up to a 5$ ball. but if you have the money and don't cringe won't cringe every time you slice it, then I would get the good balls, assuming you shoot 10 or under and your driver swing is over 105mph. you could go to an edwin watts or dicks and see if they will fit you for a ball. Its more important than getting fit for clubs in my opinion.

    Rick one thing puzzles me. You started the video by telling us that Tiger Woods, arguably the best ever, didn't hit driver when he played in the Open at Liverpool. Then you went out hitting driver ending up in the rough. Any length you gained with the driver was lost to the rough. You also reduced the spin on your approach shots and ran through the greens. I'm wondering if shorter but more accurate tee shots might have led to better scoring.

    I have always wanted to try out golf, and very recently I've discovered your channel. I Really enjoy your content and now I want to play more than ever! Have you got any tips for a totally new player? Any decent cheap starter sets put there?

    Series 2 - not enough different playing partners like the head pro, min woo lee, Hannah etc. Banter and course management was great. It’s been guy week after week.

    Great video, felt like I learned a lot about different course conditions based on weather and just simply the build of different courses. Would love to learn more, what is your suggestion for the best budget friendly way to play golf often? I play as much as I can but I keep consistently having to rent clubs and I want to start building my play around a set that I can use without breaking the bank.

    Played Royal Saint David's in the wind recently and had exactly the same feeling after a big score, sometimes playing to your hcap in hard conditions on hard golf courses is just not happening, but still love the challenge
