Been trying to modify my rack to a more live friendly direction. Basimilus Iteritas Alter is the most recent addition to it and I'm really liking its sound. I hope I'll one day be ready to gig with the rack, gotta just practise a lot. The ultimate techno performance machine is my goal! What are your must have modules for live performing / techno?
Modules used:
Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter
Intellijel Steppy
Intellijel Digitank
Intellijel Dixie II+
Erica Synths Bassline
2hp Delay
Intellijel Metropolis
Ladik S-180
Ladik S-182
Intellijel Morgsmatron
Hexinverter Mutant Bassdrum
Some additional hats etc from Analog Rytm

The nice thing about jamming is that you can always be surprised with the outcome :) I love what is happening at 09:54 and 17:46!!
Yeah! It's fun to get some good groove going on accidentally just by experimenting :)
Love that kick ... my sound system in my van is rumbling
Nice! I havent tried the kick in a proper sound system, i definitely have to
Really enjoyed this a lot. Sounds GREAT!
I love your jams !
10/10 would dance to this not knowing (and not caring) if the sun is already up or not. really well done.
Thank you so much :)
brilliant
Love it!!!
I really enjoyed this.
Glad to hear that :)
Sounds good! I think you just made me buy Erica Synths Bassline.
Beautiful rig you have Saini... sounds awesome !
Thanks!!
fun jam!
Nice !!!!
This instrument needs to gig asap. Amazing jam!
Thanks! 🌸 It definitely will
I am on the same journey. Really digging the Voltage Block but HP hungry, the mimetic digitalis is a nice alternative. Really like Erica synths bassline too and the M303 for some acid.
some awesome modular techno!
Thanks!!
Oh my God 🕺🕺🕺
Solid
awesome
Thanks!
So good
Thanks for taking a listen 🌺
It's like I tell everyone who asks:
I know what each component of the modular does, or what it's supposed to do.
I know a lot of different combinations I can string these components together in.
As to what exactly is going to come out the other side...well, not so much.
u r still great!
Well thank you!
Really nice!! What do you use for mix the voices?
Proper techno :)
Thanks!! :)
👍
Hey, this is great! Great setup! Are all the hats coming from the analog rytm? cheers!
Yes hats are from AR as i dont have any hat modules
Also I think a good live module would be a random melodic generator for some drum percs so switch up the groove a little in addition to the on the fly percs coming from the steppy. Maybe a router to have different sequencers hooked up to one voice and switch between them with the flick of a switch, I'd definitely get a random generator like numeric repetitor which has 4 channels
That would definitely liven up things, the switch would make it easy to use too. Good idea!
@@SainiElisabet yah I plan on having hats and some other metal perc sample on a random generator, keeps channels free for more important things too!
This is really, really, really good! All that only from three voices? BIA, Dixie and the Bassline...I'm ordering the Manis and Mutant bd9 next week...will be getting the BIA or Bassline, any suggestion on which one to get first...Bassline since I'd have a manis?
Sorry I'm a bit late. But my own favourite is BIA over bassline, it just always delivers interesting sounds
Great stuff! I was thinking having a similar set up as your semi modular Moog + TR8S but now I see you are on modular so what is your recommendation for a beginner: semi modular first or directly eurorack format? Thanks
I might go semi modular first, you get a lot more functionality for the money and you don't need to patch to make it work, i've been to eurorack for 2 years and it's still work in progress module wise hah, so it can be a bit long route
Ive been looking into eurorack for a while now and I’ve been looking everywhere for some good techno/house modules. Finally I found a great example! what modules would you recommend the most for just starting out?
I find Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter great for techno sounds! My favourite module!
You need this : "Walmart - Retractable Auxiliary Cables", but then in patchcable form :D
Hahah that would be neat! Good invention!
Where can your music be found? Miss seeing your UA-cam jams..
Just discovered this jam. Why looping for ulltimate techno système while already having AR and other gears ? Aren’t they ultimates, specificly AR ?
where is the kick coming from? how to get that kick sound? so nice
Sounds killers. I ordered a behringer neutron, Erica wavetable vco, intelligel quad vca, pamelas new workout, Erica pico seq. What else u think i should look to buy next.
Great! I just got my first modular case and definitely want some drum modules in it. What are some of your favourites?
I haven't had much experience on drum modules yet, as in the beginning i thought i would keep drums away from the rack. But now I want to have everything in the rack that i need for a techno song. So anyways, i find the new erica synths drum modules quite nice, might take some of them in my rack. Also I can recommend the Hexinterter mutant drums, I have their kick in the rack. And for more varying percussion sounds, the Basimilus Iteritas Alter is great!
@@SainiElisabet Thanks! I'm thinking something varied like Dreadbox Drips or the Basimilus and something else for ride/crash sounds. Will check out the mutant drums and erica synths stuff for sure. I liked the drum sounds in this video, very three dimensional
@@stupetefakkar9617 I've been just checking out ride / crash modules too. I'm leaning towards the erica synths one altho tiptop audio has a cheaper one l but I couldn't find videos of it. Let me know if you find a good one! :)
@@SainiElisabet Yes, I was thinking about the TipTop one myself. I will let you know if I take the plunge!
Hi I am thinking of purchasing the complete Tekno system from Erica Synths: any feedback/ advice? Which modules shall be added? I play old school hard tekno.
It's a very complete set of modules, I wouldn't add anything right away. Once you have got to know the system better you might find out you need some extra modules or notice that you don't use all of the techno system modules so it's easy to switch some modules then. :)
Thanks for your advice. When will you release your next eurorack live? Can t wait!!!
Do you know any other brand manufacturing similar complete set ? I am not familiar with modular so I found the turn key approach of Erica synth very useful but maybe other brands produce the same?
Ace
Thanks!
try tyso daiko...pair well with basimilus nice vibe btw
Thanks!
Thanks for the inspiration! Does it make sense as a beginner to purchase a similar set up as yours? How to approach modular to efficiently improve my skills? If you have a more convenient email address please let me know. An old nineties old school free party fan....
Where is the kick coming from ?
Its the mutant bassdrum
Siiiiick. Is that the 104HP case?
Thanks! Yes it is 104hp
That sounds awesome already! I like Surgeon's live stuff, and here he explains his setup: ua-cam.com/video/YzbRHySXq9s/v-deo.html
