Finally got around to trying this. Was a bit of a struggle to reassemble the AC control panel as the screws behind the AC dials kept falling behind the PCB. But got it in the end and it solved the issue so 10/10 thanks for the help.
Just super glued one of the contacts back, it was indeed broken when I opened it. The most challenging part is to remove the AC unit, after you remove the screws underneath the unit there are 2 plastic clips on the sides so don't pull to hard or you'll break them like me. But it was all fixed after this, took only about an hour and free of charge! Big w video!
i had the same issue. I decided to fix it with hot solder tip and I push the metal piece little bit inside the plastic with a hot solder tip and seem working
Wish I would’ve looked into this further but winter around the corner I just ordered the part at least it was used so only $50 lol might still open my current one and see if this is the issue both my temp knob doesn’t work at all and the speed knob acts up too have to mess with it to adjust speed
