Tuco, thank you for working with Andrew with the use of one of your race guns.👍 I'm still looking for a donor to build him one. In my part of Texas a good used 45 SAA are rare. 😒
That is so awesome of you; Andrew deserves a race gun! I'm going to get a Remington Pietta or maybe a Ruger Old Army soon but the real challenge will be to find a gunsmith to do the work.
@@billoconnor9611 Well I'm a retired gunsmith among other things. I've been trying to locate just the right weapon to trick out for Andrew but the search is proving difficult. However, in the mean time I did give him an engraved 1851 Navy with an additional conversion cylinder in 38spl. He's a good guy and deserves our assistance to further his work. 👍 I think it'll be easier to find a Remington than a Ruger. Good hunting!🫡
@@anangryranger that is so considerate of you!! I own one of the Pietta 1851 deluxe engraved (probably the same gun) and it is a beauty! I also own an 1851 "Buntline" 12" barrel that i picked up used in perfect condition but im not going to convert these. I've got my eye on an engraved Remington Pietta on the Taylor site but it's in backorder.
@@dangvorbei5304 I'm in Florida and there is a strong private and shop used BP market but prices are usually very close to MSRP of new. The problem is finding somebody who has actually done a race gun before. Hopefully I will be able to contact Tuco for a recommendation when the time comes or perhaps you have a recommendation or would be willing to bring another race gun into existence? I have a few contacts in the BP scene as I'm just getting into it but I haven't started any serious inquiries yet as I need to save up for this.
Great video! Some sort of moving target format would very interesting, as would long range shots for accuracy. The old westerns have a lot of moving targets as well as some longer shots, curious how it translates to the real world.
@1:43 he said four out of five? He put two in the same spot that is 5 out of 5. Crazy good shooting for trick shooting. I always wanted to get the old western 6gun rig.
Hazarding a guess that the hammers been smoothed? Learned the hard way a factory gnurled hammer takes caluses and skin with equal ease. Feel Andrews pain.
I always enjoyed fanning the hammer on a six-gun. Recently I've been training in the akimbo arts of gunfighting, utilizing two guns in a fight. I'd prefer a couple of good double-actions but single actions may also suffice if you're REAL good. You oughta get your hands on a Starr Double-action one of these days, mighty fine gun that can switch between single action and double action, i'm sure you'll find it interesting.
After talking all my smack i finally made it to the range today. I have a whole lot of humble pie to eat LMAO. Like only 2 decent doubles, but even those, the second round was just kicking up dirt. I brought my camera just in case, but no one is gonna see that video 😂🤣
Hi Tuco, like watching your videos, I saw about 2 years ago you did some long range shooting with a Sharps rifle, that looked cool, just wondering if you could do more of that. Thanks.
@@darkwriter77I have 4 Peacemaker co2 revolvers, 3 in pellt 177 and one in bb, the grips are nearly half inch longer to allow for the co2 bulb to be inserted, the grips are more like those on the blackpowder and cap versions, but the rest is pretty much identical in looks, although you could technically fan them it would soon, very soon damage the gun as the metal is not as tough as the real thing, and even the real guns will suffer from fanning as the springs and arms are not meant for that kind of speed, Tuccos guns are especially adapted to fanning. Shame we can't all have a race gun. They're greeeeat. Great video Tucco as usual, two of my favourite gunswifts together.
You should throw like quick draw competitions in your town that would be bad ass man like quick and the dead type but without the killing of course lol
Since were talk’n quick draw. I don’t remember His name, but he was a Texas ranger in the 30s. He would do demonstrations with people. He would give somebody a empty pistol and cock it and have them point it at him. He would proceed to draw a concealed revolver out from under his coat and fire it three times before the other guy could pull the trigger. I know it’s hard to learn new tricks. But maybe feeding off that idea figure out some new demonstrations between you two. Maybe even using paintballs. Hey I’m a armchair pistolero with a creative mind who Iikes to be entertained! Really enjoy you guys!

Spain is a very interesting country. I would love to visit the Sergio Leone filming locations. It's sad that there is not more gun freedom in Spain considering the history of cinema there.
Think about it as 2 actions. The draw ..and the fan .. have you learned the multi round rigid hand technique ? Aka the double fan That one takes much time to learn and you need just the right gun
Primer only powered wax loads are the standard for safety when fast drawing single action revolvers. Andrew wasn't fast drawing and I am using special techniques to ensure safety. I do not recommend anyone try fast draw with single action revolvers using live ammo. "Not even once" as Bob Munden would say even though he did it too.
@TUCOtheratt, is there anywhere i can get specs/ methods to build a fanning saa? I can't find anything beyond conjecture and hearsay. I'm looking to build a fanner myself, thanks.
A lot more difficult than someone like me thinks. Definitely eye co-ordination & balance have to be perfect. In saying that. My apologies for any ignorance. What if the Gun Holster was fastened say Half or 1 Inch further down to allow for your Drawing arm to be less bent. Or is that allowed.
That's a fair question. I'm not imitating competition fast draw. Just doing my own thing. I call it western movie fast draw. No matter where the holster is the gun has to come up to where I level it to handle the recoil of repeated shots with live ammo. I build momentum by mounting the gun higher and grabbing it on the way up.
Anyway, what it boiled down to is in the movie's,most of the so called Gun slingers did wear their holsters low on thier thigh. But I like the Ol Tuco way.Closeer is quicker..

Andrew shoots like an artist painting a canvas and Tuco shoots like a CNC drilling holes. Both great shots!
After watching two pros fanning and hitting the target it became very clear its not as easy as I imagined. Great vid and collaboration! Thanx!
That draw at 1:18 was CLEAN
The Tuco quickdraw forever unmatched, fastest real life gunslinger i've seen🔥
This day was a whole lot of fun! I’m glad you carried it this day. I found out that I can’t fan! Lol
It takes a while to learn to fan fast.
Fanning live ammo is fun, about the time I start to get accurate I can't stomach how much ammo I spent.lol
Props to you Tuco ,getting the job done like a boss,👍

It's dang near impossible to find a decent used Pietta around Tyler. People hang on to them religiously, so you might as well buy new.

Very interesting, thank you
That'd be cool to have like a paintball load for duals.
Do they make airsoft single-actions? That might be the ticket.
Duelling with Simunitions could become a thing. Stings just enough to resolve minor disputes, but not as permanent as .45LC.

Tuco is fast on the draw and his fanning is smooth, Andrew needs to work on muscle memory to speed up to catch up to Tuco.
