@mr arican Not with the major alone; most people apply for a MSc and/or PhD program (usually with some scholarships which is why you need good degrees on your major) and then work either in academia, industry or finance.
Yes ..em also happy. ..becoz it's am also mathematics student and want to know the daily study routines of mathematics student ....and I found it lovely amazing
Chunky But Funky 😎 I’m almost 50 and taking maths as I’ve found something that really interests me. At School 35 years ago I was dreadful and had no interest whatsoever in maths. Now it’s like Magic. I especially like applied maths were you can work complex real world problems out you’d never able to do without maths.
Well I'm applying for physics at uni next year and I like little cool bits of maths like proving the sum of the first n cubes is the sum of the first n numbers, squared, or how you can use differential equations to model literally everything - like oscillating systems, and quantum systems (differential equations used to solve the Schrödinger equation for example, for the wavefunction). Also complex numbers are super cool cus you can model wave superposition with them using 'phasor addiction' which is basically adding complex number vectors in the argand plane. Richard Feynman's infamous QED (quantum electrodynamics) relies on phasor addition!
You'd find that mathematics education at the primary-secondary level is WAY different from actual mathematical investigation. I always found math kind of "meh" while in high school and only found I liked it until I had to take a mandatory Calc course for an engineering degree, and read Richard Hammack's Book of Proof to understand the proofs. I loved it and eventually switched majors.
As I am taking my third year at uni in maths, topology is really rough but also really beautiful. Came here for some inspo, and was not disappointed. :)
Lol after watching her brush their hair I couldn't stop thinking about it and had to see if anyone said anything. My hair is kind of curly (I have lost my curls, I would love to have her hair) and I follow the curly girl method. It was surprising to see that she doesn't use gel or anything and yet have defined curls, that doesn't happen to me anymore.
Moreee of this kind of video pleasssee. I want to do a maths degree as well, so I really liked this :) Update: Im currently at university for my first year of maths Yay
It amazes me that some people can not look at their results the second they arrive... THAT'S discipline! I keep refreshing my emails over and over even if I think there's a chance they might have arrived.
Do you really like and love the beauty of mathematics or just chose it because you were good at it or did you really find it interesting? :)) coz i love maths even though I am not the best at it like I wasn't the topper of the subject but I really like it ..it's just so incredibly interesting and intellectually stimulating. .it really pushes you to overcome maths problems. It can be intimidating but that's the challenge. For me maths has been such a significant subject and experience , for me it's beautiful and it's like art; )hehe I don't know if I am making any sense I have always liked humanities and arty and creative things and also maths. I also wanted to say that I can relate to you on yet another big topic and that is of mental health issues cause I have struggled with depression and paranoia most of my life and i am really young and still continue to but I guess it does get better if we try and strive hard in overcoming them just as in maths...lots of love !!. Amy xx PS - new subscriber! :)) and you have really beautiful handwriting :)))
Same, i have always found math as an interesting topic, and i have always been one of the best in it - but I don’t consider myself that great because school math is NOT the same as it is in math major, and i do remember memorizing some formulas if they were too long to understand which I’m kind of ashamed of lol - nevertheless I chose math as my major, i was pretty confident with my choice when I first chose it, but lately I’ve getting a-lot of anxiety, like am i really up the task? Will i keep loving it? Do I really really love it? I hate these questions, but i can’t stop them, especially after meeting two kids from the same major, they were way ahead of me thats why i got anxious. I haven’t even started the major lol -i also suffer from mental illness, hence the anxiety- I don’t know why I’m writing this cuz I don’t really have a closure, but maybe I’ll comeback to this and laugh at how pointless these anxieties were -hopefully-
Agh Hey there lovely human being...I would say that I can completely relate to your shortcomings. As I said maths can be intimidating especially without understanding and a distorted perception, add to that you are attempting a different and higher level of maths that you were not previously even familar...I really have to give credit to you for that; for not leaving maths for fear:) U just have to think clearly...for e.g. you mentioned formulas, I get how nervous they can make you ,but think creatively. I mean if you really wanna learn mathematics go by logic not by memorization. ..ask a friendly teacher or any good teacher for that matter who is willing to make you understand ;to derive that formula for you! I don't know how it works at undergraduate level but when I was in high school which I still am (senior year) I would want to know desperately how on earth this formula was born..and my marvellous teacher would tell me every single how and why which were apparently supposed to be already understood;so go ahead !Don't be afraid. .get the "whys" spot on!! On point questioning and analysis of the subject would prove really helpful. You just have to accept that neither are you inferior nor superior. You are not stupid ok ...you are just learning ...I know how we dont ask teachers really important questions when we don't get even basic math stuff because of the fear of being judged ...But hey screw that ...your own judgment and perception abt yourself is what matters as no one should know you better than yourself! :)) As for mental health. .i really suggest you get some external therapy or abundant love and support from anyone...hope u stay strong..whenever you think hopelessly just think that by thinking negatively and bleakly u might be denying a wonderful possibility and opportunity just behind the locked door knocking for you to explore and experience this beautiful world...have a great time:)))))
There aren't a lot of Physics and Mathematics UA-camr that are still in Uni and doing Subject related Vlogs but this one is just amazing..I am about to get in the uni this year and i will be taking Mathematics and would love to work as sincerely and hard as you..This video is just amazing in terms of everything ...You've got yourself another loyal subscriber
I have another question.. If I do a BSc maths degree in UK... How I manage the my day time table.. Should I have to do a job to pay university fezz.... How many times should I study in a day
Hey! I just came across your channel and I love your video! I used to be a Financial Mathematics student during my degree years and I love Optimization. I'm currently pursuing my MSc in Maths. Keep posting more videos :D Love from Malaysia!
Maths is so cool but so abstract! I study to become a physician, we have classes that is very similar to math classes but I would say physics is less abstract... But I am with you! We need maths to do physics!
Loved the video Beth! I’m a maths student like yourself and I’ve just started up my own channel! Before I came to uni I watched your videos and they were great😎
How do you write your notes out for maths and find the motivation to do your work? I'm just doing my a levels and planning to go to uni for maths but finding work difficult because of my depression
I am planning a video on how I take notes for maths, so that will be coming soon! I find motivation very difficult, but here are some things that help me: -writing pretty notes and using highlighters and coloured pens -writing a to do list (including really simple tasks) and then getting to tick things off it -giving myself rewards for doing work, stuff like 'once i finish this problem sheet i'll watch an episode of something on netflix' (this requires self-discipline though, which i dont have much of!) The main thing keeping me motivated though is just the fact that the more work I do, the better grade I'll get, and also the less anxious I will be about exams/results Hope that helped in some way :)
This video has such an air of calm productivity, and you seem so bubbly and friendly! You kinda remind me of hermione granger a bit ahaha. Makes me wanna go study
I woild reccomend moving those flowers to other room.I don't know about other countries but here it is known that thise flowers have a pretty strong smell and they can give you headaches
i literally am about to fail my first year in uni because of math and the only thing motivating me not to fail it is that we don’t have a math class in any of the upcoming years
Ok, I had to pause the video to write this comment. I was like, oh wow I use the same moisturiser, oh and the same hair brush haha, then I saw your todo list and I have the same one from Kikki K but in a pink colour! What strange coincidences. Too bad I study Chemistry and not Math, then it would have been really freaky
Hello Thank you so much for making those videos I am Sal and I study math third year I wanna know how you get through the day when you have a lot of ups and downs And I also want to know whendid you chose your grad topic
I have completely just realized you know sophie! You do realize sophie knows adrian right? You can meet dan and phil this way. You literally have a direct line of contact! use iT! x
I know you mean well but Dan and Phil aren't just objects to be reached. They're actual people, so is Adrian and so is Soph. How would you feel if someone befriended you just as a stepping stone to get them where they wanted to go?! I've literally been best friends with Sophie since the day I was born. I'm not interested in the fact that she knows Adrian any more than just the fact that he's a good friend and makes my friend happy 👍🏼
Did Maths at Soton uni get effected much by the strikes? Chemistry only had a few lecturers striking but I know the humanities subjects got hit hard by it

You barely see any Study UA-camrs who are in a Maths degree and I'm happy I found one! Loved the video!
This is the only video I have found of a girls doing a maths degree. Its sad :(
@mr arican Not with the major alone; most people apply for a MSc and/or PhD program (usually with some scholarships which is why you need good degrees on your major) and then work either in academia, industry or finance.
Yes true😍😍
Yes ..em also happy. ..becoz it's am also mathematics student and want to know the daily study routines of mathematics student ....and I found it lovely amazing
I cant one who has a statistics degree
As a Math uni student. I would like you to keep with this kind of videos. It makes me feel like i'm not alone.
Valentina De La Fuente What a levels did you study? How have y ou found your degree?
Valentina De La Fuente bitch your classmates should make you feel like you’re not alone
U have no classmates?
It never occurred to me that there are people in the world who voluntarily seek further mathematics education. Like they WANT to. So odd to me.
Chunky But Funky 😎 I’m almost 50 and taking maths as I’ve found something that really interests me. At School 35 years ago I was dreadful and had no interest whatsoever in maths. Now it’s like Magic. Some people do find mathematics splendid, however it was kind of a devil to me
Math have different branchs. I love my branch. Others are just devil.

Girl use a wide tooth comb instead of that brush todo detangle the hair and scrunch it to maintain the beautiful curls
info like this saves lives
Kimberly Gichuki wow I’m going to try this
You can use the brush too. But start from the ends and slowly move upwards. Don't be rough. Take care of your hair like a baby
And if your hair is on the thicker side do it in sections 🤪
Lol after watching her brush their hair I couldn't stop thinking about it and had to see if anyone said anything. I try to put off opening them as long as possible lol I can't cope with the pressure so I just ignore it
Watching this motivated me to get out of bed and work on my thesis on a day when I really needed it. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. (:

Actually I can relate to this 🙂
Loved this. I’m a maths student at uni as well so it’s great to see a study with me from someone doing same degree as me 😀
Hey! I am also doing the same degree.
You should also start UA-cam channel
Hey, I’m doing the same degree also!
Ellie Sleightholm how are you finding your degree? Did you do further maths?
In Front of the mirror, you looked a little bit like lucy hale!

This video has such an air of calm productivity, and you seem so bubbly and friendly! You kinda remind me of hermione granger a bit ahaha. Makes me wanna go study
Math always been my strongest subject. Thinking about going back to school to major it. Be a mathematician 😁
Thank you for making these videos ♥️ I really want to study maths at uni and these videos are so helpful
Did you go to uni yet??
This was really interesting, thanks for sharing xx
Oooh that was so productive❤ loved it💕hope to see more of these💖

i literally am about to fail my first year in uni because of math and the only thing motivating me not to fail it is that we don’t have a math class in any of the upcoming years
i would think that they would round it up to a 70 to make it even right?
I’m having a maths exam tomorrow (pretty nervous 😬)... btw awesome video and motivational!
Your best video so far! The'King'Beth indeed. :)
This is one the best vedios among yours
Sometimes I find some vedio Intresting but sometime it rises my heartbeat, I don't know why
Love your mug!!!😍😍😍
You're AMAZING.
Please do a video on how to revise maths GCSE
Wow maths student. I've been searching for this months ago
Me too:)
For months now**
Oh, since you're doing maths at uni, have you got some specific women in maths/stem who have inspired you/you look up to? Like Ada Lovelace, etc.
where is this bedding from!? i loveeeee it!
the yellow floral one? I think I got it on ebay!
Amazing video this motivated me so much xx
great video

Me tryna figure out how she averaged that: Then I try doing the mean average
Brave girl. I hate Math
Totally unrelated but you look like the American gymnast Lori Hernandez.
I stumbled upon your channel.I love your videos. New subscriber here.
Your handwriting is so similar to the handwriting of a friend of mine
AHAHAHA I’m JELOUS you can do maths and girlllll I really can’t welldone!!
Hello
Thank you so much for making those videos
I am Sal and I study math third year

k but why did you voluntarily spend more time than u had to in math
Honestly how to know what major u really like in college
And what kind of jobs u want to do in the future?
omg i died when u said the emos walked past and got all nostalgic bc same :'))
hi Beth:) could you plz recommend some calculus books for senior year highschool students to self study and prepare for uni? thanks!
Im terrible at math so I can't imagine studying a math degree. Kuddos thou but i am interested in this 😁
heeyy fellow maths student :)
what are you planning to do with a math degree?
I thought that was your University crest on the mug but it's Hogwarts isn't it?!
hahaha yep!
We have the same calculator:)
where is ur phone case from?!?!?
I love you
Hi, can you give good advice for someone who is resitting first year. I'm doing mathematics and I like it but find it hard. Xx
That was a great Video! Love time lapses 😍i just uploaded a study with me today too 🤗🤓
I have completely just realized you know sophie!
I know i get that much homerwork everyday and i go to secondary
:0 where did you get that duvet
Hi Beth how are you on your medication
She reminds me of the main female protoganist in the mummy 1997? 😌
so are you studying french as well?
only the very basics. it counts towards my degree but it won't be in my degree title :)
TheKingBeth oh ok cool that’s a good system
Did Maths at Soton uni get effected much by the strikes? Chemistry only had a few lecturers striking but I know the humanities subjects got hit hard by it
it did! most people had 1 or 2 lecturers striking, so it was badly effected but i know a lot of courses had it worse
That sucks, also I think I saw you outside my lecture in building 58 today, I didn't know there were lectures at 6 :)
The flowers blooming may have caused an allergic reaction due to the pollen.
I didn't think of that! I don't think it was though because I was experiencing the same thing when I was home at Easter (and the plant was at uni!)
Did u do a 4 Years Msc or a 3 year Bsc?
3 year BSc!
Where is your pink and grey bedding from?😍
Asda!
Are you from Cyprus?
if you would like to see how it is to go to a international school in Sweden, check my vlogs out!!
Is that a paper book???😱
I'm also a BS mathematics student hh
Stats are simple and don't require brain power? 😂😭stats is my worst out of the three stats, mech and pure 🙃(doesn't mean I don't love it though!)
I mean, like, WHY?
Wooo new obsesion
I'm considering studying maths at uni, could you tell me what's it's like?
It isn’t the most difficult (I am not saying that it isn’t difficult, just that other majors are harder) The difficulty however is in the workload. I have almost double the lectures/practicals in a week than those who study for example psychology. And the work isn’t done after the lectures
piah _ where do you study? Do you enjoy it?
Not being rude, but I don't need to see your ablutions or snacks, I was kinda hoping you were gonna TEACH us something ! :)
WE HAVE THE SAME MUG ! Sorry felt the need to say it :))
Ur hair is so shiny
I have just found your channel & love it so much! I’m sitting my A levels soon and I’m so scared aha but I also make studying videos and would love it if you could check them out! X
I love u voice. :)
Lovely lovely lovely. Namaste.
I can't lie, the music made me leave the video to watch alux, good vid tho
I don't fuccckk with math at all.
