Another absolute beauty!! I love how you made some of the shapes sharp against the beautiful softness of the water and sky. Just gorgeous! Thank you as always!❤
You capture the fun and beauty of watercolor and make it look easy. In my opinion that is the mark of a gifted vision and talent. Can't wait to see more of your work.
Watching you work simply brings joy into my heart. The videos of the water colour transforming is so flowy and therapeutic to watch and the end results are awe inspiring thank I so much 💖🌻😊
Thank you Lena for sharing your videos. I love the way you let water and colours meet and dance together on the paper. You can't say what will happen and the result is what it is. It is very talented and inspiring.
Lena you are amazing!! You Rock! I really love your work! I think this genre is kinda like pour painting only you seem to have a plan. While pouring the only plan is the colors! You make it all seem so easy!! Your works are really beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your art. Jim
First time I have a you tube video of your work. Absolutely loved that. I only started playing with watercolours two days ago and am not an artist so will have to try something like this on a very small scale and do many hours of practice. Your work is amazing. Have subscribed to your channel and hope to see many more videos.
Your watercolour creative offers a wonderful since of freedom. Inspirational. I have just started a watercolour YT channel, ever evolving. Started painting watercolours in the rain.
Usually during art tutorials, actually being able to see the painting is helpful. Especially at the beginning, middle, and end. Though you looked very proud, as you should be, I had no idea what I was looking at.
Вы большая умница! Я многому у Вас научилась. Хопошо, что Вы делитесь, какая плотность бумаги... многие думали, что Вы применяли какие-то дополнительные средства.
Thank you for your advice. For a long time, I have been writing the name of the colours and paper right under the video. But you are right: I can't even remember the colours of this video....
You are always welcome to come and visit me here in Copenhagen. Right now I have no plans for exhibitions, so all my paintings are at home. my website: gemzoe.dk
Thanks for sharing. I have tried it, and it's fun. Hope I can show my work to you, teacher. Just one suggestion: if you can mention what colors you'd used would be even better.
Thank you! In this video I use cheap viscose paper but never less than 300g. I think that the tape makes a lot of troubles, and it doesn't make the water run away.
This made me so nostalgic: my much loved father was from Denmark, your house looks Danish, you look Danish (we share the same hair colour and style!), and your ethereal misty scenes are so evocative of the sea that it hurts to miss it. I'm trying to discover my "style", and stumbled across this technique which takes away my tendency to be over-controlled and detailed, and just enjoy the flow of colour. Since l can't afford to practice on large sheets, is something like this do-able in a 5" × 7" mode? Thanks so much. I can almost hear your Danish accent in your responses. :)
Dear friend. In fact you can use any kind of paper. I often use carton which is much cheaper than water colour paper. I also use stone paper - again much cheaper. Just go ahead!! Make experiments and good luck! Held og lykke!!
Har precis upptäckt dig. Vad härligt att se hur du arbetar! You make it look so easy..! Ljuvligt resultat. Och musiken, sen .... Men säg, Lena: Behöver du lägga till lite färg efter torkningen eller räcker pigmentet? Det är vad jag undrar.
This is beautiful Lena. May I ask, what you do to flatten the paper before you frame/sell it. Also, your name reminds me of an old Billy Joel song...All For Lena 😊
Thank you! If the paper is not flat, I turn it upside down and put water all over the backside. When it has sucked the water and there are no more blank places, I fix it all around wit tape and let it dry. Then I cut it free and voila!!! the paper is straight!
I never use paper less than 300 gr. If it bubbles when dry, I put water on the backside and wait 5 minutes. Then I tape it to background and let it dry.
awesome job ! I m experimenting with abstract now this videos are really inspiring ! may I ask what kind of paper you using? is it cotton or celullosa? also those brushes are watercolor one or any brush would do? I live now in a small place in czech rep and no much supplies around here :D thanks !
Thank you! You can use any brushes - sometimes I use one that costs less than 1€. The paper is cotton, but you can use any paper as long as it is acidfree. If the paper is harder or shining, the water runs faster and it becomes more difficult, but still possible. Have fun!
LOVE these demos, Lena! May I also ask you to add a note about what kind of paper, paints, and tools you're using? It would be so helpful to achieve this tricky but amazing technique!
Thank you! The paper is cheap watercolour paper 300 g. I think the paint is Windsor&Newton: Antwerp Blue, Quinacridone Gold and Ivory Black. The brush is made of goat hair (it holds a lot of water) and then I use a credit card which I sometimes cut in smaller pieces.
Thank you...I love watching you create these beauties.
For all the years that I have been in Watercolour , You are a refreshing to my soul , thank you Bob

Thank you. There is much more freedom in painting in the rain, but sure it's a very big challenge too!
Usually during art tutorials, actually being able to see the painting is helpful. Especially at the beginning, middle, and end. Though you looked very proud, as you should be, I had no idea what I was looking at.

Fantastic! Would love to know the paper you use and if you do anything special to prepare it. :)
Sorry for my late reply, but: The paper is Arches rough grain. And I just go straight on the paper - the only preparation is the water, that you see.
Hej!
