There's a cut of Blood Rage called "Nightmare at Shadow Woods" with the gore cut out but some added scenes. I don't remember what they consisted of though. Have you seen Just Before Dawn, Nightmares in a Damaged Brain, or Stagefright (1987)? Those are some of my fave 80's slashers. Hell Night and House on Sorority Row too but those are more obvious.
I discovered Tourist Trap through your slasher Sunday introduction last year. I bought it, and really enjoyed myself. I still need to get Nightmare Beach. I'm keeping an eye open for a good deal. I recently rewatched a lesser known 80's slasher called Eyes Of A Stranger (1981). That is about a woman who suspects her neighbor is the serial killer that has been terrorizing the Miami area. She lives with her blind sister, who is played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. Tom Savini did the makeup effects for this film. I'd recommend this movie, if you haven't already seen it. Sorority House Massacre II and Hard to Die are two of my all time favorite horror flicks. I just got the screener VHS of part 2 and Sorority House Massacre sealed on VHS from Ebay for my collection!
you prob know but psycho cop 2 is out on bluray from vinegar syndrome and looks great in hd. although out of print but i think amazon has some in stock currently for like $20.
Tourist trap is awesome, I love that film. I've seen the box art for The Slumber Party Massacre 2 but I hadn't actually seen it until this recommendation and it's a really fun movie. I wasn't necessarily having terrible day, but I did need to take my mind off work, it fit the bill and gave me some good laughs. Have you ever seen Next of Kin? It's a really interesting slasher from Australia, some time ago Tarantino praised the film, but it was super hard to actually find until shudder picked it up. I think around the same time shudder acquired it, it also had it's first release on blu ray/ Dvd, I need to add it to my collection. I'd highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet!
@SinisterCinemaReviews actually a completely different slasher film that I saw that takes place on Thanksgiving that’s an extremely fun one if you haven’t seen it is called Kristy it was on Netflix for awhile which is where I saw it. I’m not sure if it’s still on the service or not but, if you haven’t seen it and want to check it out and do a review on that one. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that one if you haven’t seen it at all or not in awhile at least.
So I either have a great recommendation or a movie that will be a miss. Could go either way. Based on your love for blood hook I’d recommend Doom Asylum which has an arrow blu-Ray now but it’s also on Tubi. It has the cheesiness of blood hook but dialed up about an extra notch and a half while still being a really silly fun memorable time for me at least. I could completely understand if someone didn’t like this movie though so that’s why I’m sort of curious but unsure of where it would fall for you.
Pieces I actually didn't care but LOVE A Bay of Blood aka Twitch of the Death Nerve 😍 Haven't seen Blood Rage yet nor The Mutilator both of which are in my ever eternal WL. Tourist Trap actually surprised me with how good it and creepy to boot! Sleepaway Camp is so difficult to find at a reasonable price in the UK, been a long headache for me to find and still looking now! Same for Motel Hell 😂 Lot more I've added to my list though so thanks SC 🙂
