Every motorcycle should come with bobbins pre-installed in my opinion. After all, every motorcycle needs to be put onto a stand from time to time and having bobbins makes it easier and safer.
My biggest issue with road sync is it doesn’t allow navigation using google maps or even Apple Maps and the music only works through Apple Music, not spotify
I was waiting to see if i heard #2. I own the 2023 model & the gear between 1st & 2nd is insane, on mine sometimes when you don’t get neutral you get a straight line & then you have to slam it into 2nd gear & it always happens at the wrong time, truly annoying. I have never ridden a bike like that but thats my only complaint, i do love it.
Hi, I've been experiencing similar gear-shifting issues on my KTM RC390. After trying a few different oil brands, I found one that significantly improved the smoothness. I suggest trying different oil brands during each service until you find the perfect match for your CBR650R.
I love Honda but I had the same problem with my CRF 250 with second gear. It's so embarrassing missing the second gear because you have to slam it so you don't end up in neutral. I ended up selling it due to that.

I don't know if yours worse than mine (I have a 2022 CB650R) but you shouldn't need to "slam" the gearbox. You might actually be making the problem worse if you do that. Just give it a firm push. Not like an instantaneous stamp/kick but a push. You will feel two distinct clicks as it goes through neutral and into 2nd or into 1st depending if you are going up or down. It's especially noticeable when going down into 1st. You might have to shift slower at first while you get used to this technique but once you are used to it, it will become natural and you can still shift very quickly without issue. I had the same issue when I first got the bike but when I learnt that you need to give it a push instead of a stab the problem went away. I think it happens when people don't push the lever far enough i.e. the lever might need to move 15mm and the rider is only pushing it 10mm (plucking number out of the air). So yeah, just push it instead of stamp/kick and it will work fine. At least that's my experience with my bike but maybe yours has a problem, dunno. Also I agree about the bike not having threads to install track bobbins. Pain in the butt using those swingarm lift things.
@@AkaiCBR Yeah I’ve seen lots of people talking about it and as I said, I’ve experienced it myself but when I changed my style to suit the bike, the problem went away.
I have a CB650R and I agree about the vibes. They are insignificant and I honestly can't understand why people even mention it. The longest ride I have done was about 3.5 hours on a combination of straight fast roads and twisty roads and not even once did I think about vibrations. It's such a non-issue. People hear reviewers talk about vibes (they are literally picking the bike apart and trying to find things to comment on) and then think it's an issue but it really isn't, at least on my bike it isn't.
I think this second gear misshift into neutral is because the bike is new and the gearbox is really stiff. For me it occured when it was brand new, after a couple thousand km it didn't happen. Or maybe I am just used to pull up hard the lever :D
@@AkaiCBR or if you are using aftermarket oil it also can interfere the clutch operation. At my place at the official Honda service they offer the genuine Honda oil, and some aftermarket ones thats also meets the requirements, but sometimes some bike doesn't like it
The final drive gear is tall as hell on this thing. 42/15. You can get to 115kph in first gear if you hold to 12k rpm and 2nd gear gets you to 140kph. Where I'm from max speed you can go anywhere is 130. I can sell back to Honda the 4th, 5th and 6th gear 😂. And for the 2024 model with e-clutch if you install a different final drive ratio it can fuck up the E-clutch, which is the ONLY model where I'm from.
@@AkaiCBR personally I'd like a shorter final gear to get to the fun zone earlier. I tried the CB version and honestly in the city I never was above 2nd gear.

Hey AkaiCBR, 1 thing I dont like: There is no Bobbins-Counter in this video XD ...so oft wie ich in diesem Video das Wort Bobbins gehört habe, musste ich irgendwann schmunzeln.

I have the E-clutch version and also false neutrals several times when shifting from first to second gear . I'll order shift support (a cheaper copy of racetorx) soon and see if that helps. This is a known problem and it is strange that Honda has still not corrected this in the new model....
Well I am not surprised. E-clutch actually has nothing to do with the gearbox itself. This is just the hardware that controls the clutch operation. This is the same engine and gearbox from the 650f model, so the problem remained the same as it was.

What's it like on the wrists. Is there a lot of weight on them
It's more strain than on a naked bike, for sure. But that's natural. It's much better than on a super sport. You still have to get used to it though - there are a few techniques to alleviate the pressure.
RoadSync is more a marketing thing than actually usefull, The only good thing is the weather status, but the IOS version of honda road sync doesnt allow other music apps then apple music like wtf? Everyone uses spotify almost... Why cant i just use a diffrent navigation then apple maps, everyone knows riders have rider apps where you get better routes then in standart navigation apps. Its kind frustrating and sounds like apple wants a lot of cash from honda to allow other apps then apples own. I stopped useing it cause it annoys me really....But overall still a great bike
I agree with your comment, it could be a lot better!
Hey AkaiCBR,
1 thing I dont like: There is no Bobbins-Counter in this video XD
- Preis
- Farben
- Display
- Komfort
@@Bern284 logisch, einfach gerne Bescheid sagen :)
The silver footpegs match better with the standard exhaust.
I’m not sure about that, but we will see in June when they are black :)
where you buy this windshield ?
It’s from the manufacturer called bodystyle, many different online stores have it
Also ohne Modifikationen.
Weil in Deutschland muss man ja auch aufpassen was man montiert.
Why you didn’t go for Daytona 660? Any specific reason?
The Daytona looks 20 years old and looks like a bodge job .. and I love Triumphs (owned 2 765's)
It was my first choice actually :) then I saw a couple of things I didn’t like (the dash for example) and got introduced to the new CBR, then I fell in love!
@@AkaiCBRand that is the reason you always buy a bike.
I just discovered your channel. You are brilliant. I am a new subscriber from now❤ and do you live in Germany? I just bothered/wondered. If you don't want to answer, it is up to you🎉
Thank you, you made my day 🤭
Yes I live in Germany! Thank you very much for your support 🙌🏻
@@AkaiCBR gern geschehen:))
I have the E-clutch version and also false neutrals several times when shifting from first to second gear . I'll order shift support (a cheaper copy of racetorx) soon and see if that helps. This is a known problem and it is strange that Honda has still not corrected this in the new model....
It’s odd that it also happens with the e clutch …
Well I am not surprised. E-clutch actually has nothing to do with the gearbox itself. This is just the hardware that controls the clutch operation. This is the same engine and gearbox from the 650f model, so the problem remained the same as it was.
Hi! How tall are you? I am asking because I am interested in CBR650R and I wondered if it will be big enough for me 😊
Thanks!
Hey, im about 1,87cm :)
@@AkaiCBR Thank you so much! 😁🙏
I am 188, 189 so it should be fine 🤷♂️
You probably talked about comfort on it in some of your videos, I will try to watch them, but what can you say about all day comfort on it?
Thanks a lot!
@@fartlek1000 anytime! To be honest comfort isn’t perfect, but I personally have no issues even with longer rides at all.
How tall are you? I am 193 cm and still deciding whether to get this bike. Do you find it cramped compared to your former bike or is it reasonably comfortable even for tall dudes?
Keep the vids coming!
I recently sat on a fireblade and I can tell you, absolutely no way to ride those comfortably. The CBR is comfortable for tall people because the seat and grips are higher. I’m about 187cm!
@@AkaiCBR thanks.
I'm coming from a naked fz6 which I will also keep. I've always loved the fireblade and the 600rr but there is no way for me to ride those comfortably. The 650r seems like the perfect compromise, I love the look of it.
@@RazvanAndrei-xn5dr you are most likely going to enjoy riding it. So far I have not had any issues with back pain or discomfort. The only thing I’m getting used to is lighter grip
Honda should recall and rectify for such issues. Simply not acceptable for $$$ motorcycle
Wouldn't say recall, but some things can easily be fixed with a revision
I really like your t-shirt :3
You can get it at BERSHKA right now!
Not much longer and you’ll have your bike!
#2 happens to me on a cb125r it’s maybe a Honda thing
Most likely yeah
Same here with my cb125r 2023 model, sometimes when it's in neutral it won't go into first gear aswel
@@lwhitey5679 that I think is normal, you have to roll it back a click to enter to first
It is! Honda thing! My CB600F does the same, CBF600SA does it too, and guess what... my CBR650R 2024 still has it! It's a Honda Thing!
@@mastermikebike i meant the neutral to first thing, that is normal on all motorcycles
So...
1... stupidly annoying when it is pretty much standard across most bikes
2... WTF, is this right, surely it must be an adjustment on the changer. Never seen this on reviews or the 2 test rides I had... or seen on forums.
3... Not sure many bikes do show that!
4... Try Kawasaki or Triumph, they're worse. Most of these things are little more than an afterthought.
5... Seriously? if they were black, people would moan and want silver.
and finally... Buy an electric bike people.
I put R and G bobbins on the back. No issues with using a paddock stand
Had a couple of false neutrals.
You've got a new bike. Contact the dealer and get it looked at
Lots of people have the Same issue with different models, not just the 24. I guess it’s just a gearbox thing. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
New gauge cluster is so ugly 😢
Which one do you like better?
