  • K.Flay came by to talk about her album "Mono", going deaf in one ear, sexuality, 10 years of "Life As A Dog" and more!
    K.Flay, is a Grammy-nominated American singer and songwriter. K.Flay got her start in music as a freshman at Stanford University where she studied psychology and sociology. She began producing music on her laptop and quickly caught the attention of RCA Records. K.Flay was only signed to RCA for a year before realizing her creative vision differed from her labels. She went on to release her debut album “Life As A Dog” independently in 2014. Since then, K.Flay has released multiple EPs and albums to critical acclaim and even put together a book of letters her fans had written to her while on tour. She also come out as queer and publicly dated another musician, Miya Folick, in 2021. In 2022, K.Flay spontaneously lost her hearing in her right ear and had to grapple with accepting her new reality. The anger, anxiety, and depression that came out of the experience culminated in K.Flay’s fifth studio album “Mono” (2023). Today, K.Flay came by the couch to talk about “Mono”, the process behind the album, her love of reading, her new girlfriend, and much more!

      @@vickyvindshe is sooo therapeutic and seeing her live was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. She really interacts with the crowd and had us all shut our eyes to just let go and be ourselves. And I will forever keep the pamphlet that she made for each City each specific night with a little card in there for us to pull out right our problems on it stick it in a box on the way out after the show and then she burned all of our problems. She go above and beyond I absolutely can't wait to see her play live again and she's like superwoman🦸‍♀️

    “The greatest ghost of all is nothing.” Seriously if that doesn’t end up in a song on the next album I will be devastated. Always this one with the existential philosophical deep lines. Love her so much 👻

    Wow... Dosnt like Elon Musk? Sounds wayyyy off base... Look at what the rest of the people with similar ammounts of money are doing... Also, he personally designed Tesla from the ground up then handed it over... Theres a lot of ignorance in this one..

    • @sonicsound84
      @sonicsound84 4 місяці тому

      @@vickyvind If by "ruined" you mean removing government influence and access, preventing the government from controlling the narrative and information, then yes, I suppose he "ruined" it. X (formerly Twitter) is actually thriving more than ever. Anyone critical of Elon Musk should really consider listening to or reading his biography to understand him better. And for those doubting the source, it was written by the same author who penned Obama’s biography, offering a truly objective perspective. Many have forgotten what that's like. Fortunately, Elon has largely restored this objectivity to X while maintaining that free speech does not become disruptive.

      He didn't "personally design" anything, he BOUGHT the rights to claim that he founded the company he was Tesla's FOURTH ceo jfc you ppl will believe anything - that man is a fraud of the highest order, the only thing he "found" was his daddy's checkbook
