Bretman is a great example of letting your child be THEMSELF. Imagine if his parents forced him into football and the closet? Instead they let him be him and he just bought his mom a sweet house in Hawaii! YES!

His stance on the digital beauty community is absolutely true. I was following the OG Michelle Phan for so long, and even herself admitted that she had to step back and take a long break because she was loosing herself in the money machine.

We see a lot of traumatized people, but Bretman Rock is an example of a person who was raised by a loving and supportive family, and I think he doesn’t realize that his healthy confidence isn’t a given, it was cultivated by his parents and upbringing, he’s been really blessed!

He def had trauma. But didn't ruminate in it like most people do these days. His self confidence was probably a coping mechanism. Which is not a bad thing.
The story between his parents divorced is he saw his dad and the helper doing things, and told it innocently to her mom. The reason of the break up. He always blamed himself for breaking his family apart. That's definitely trauma there.

I agree with Bretman about the beauty community. Between the whole Jeffree/Shane/Tati/James drama and the disastrous Laura lee apology, it became an absolute train wreck. Most of these troublesome gurus have one thing in common: they shift blame and never take responsibility.

Bretman was like an older brother to me growing up always kept shlt 101% real and never failed to make me laugh, nobody is perfect and everyone had their drama but at the end of the day you know they are a genuinely great person.

My doctor said “it’s a they/them” and then his parents allowed him to be just that…..and he was able to truly be himself bc he lived in a remote location and didn’t have society telling him who to be….literally love him.

i first saw Bretman’s contour tutorial video which went viral in 2015 i was in junior hs, ever since then i’ve been following his growth, back then he was 16 i was 16 too and i couldn’t help but to be so impressed. Ugh I remember watching him when I had social media. He made my day. Always was making me laugh and honestly even though it was mostly make up tutorials he just always made them funny. I have been watching him since he was a little boy. I remember a vine he did brushing his teeth "like a Filipino" (and if you know, you know LOL) and I was like, "Oh my God, we are all the same". And it was so cool to FINALLY see Filipino/Asian representation so real and so raw. He really is a self-made man and he is so intelligent. I'm so proud of him.
