    This is an excellent experiment to show that Engines do or can run on pure Hydrogen. The only problem is that within a short period of time, your cylinder walls / pistons / Piston rings / cylinder Head and as this is 2-stroke so no valves - but everything I have described will start to get pitted or "eaten" away soon. The atoms of Hydrogen are so tiny, in fact it is the 1st. on periodic table with least atom count - so it can go through metal easily but only under pressured combustion. If you can figure out to combust Hydrogen without letting it go through pressured chamber like Typical Piston Cylinder head combination, then you will be fine. Take a look at the OMEGA 1 or 2 Videos to understand how they have designed a new Engine where there is NO NEED for a Compressed Air-Fuel chamber, rather the Circular motion of the combustion igniton propels the Crankshaft. So again I don't want to blow your nice bubble, but somehow Stain Meyers, either figured out the correct resonance frequency for the Hydrogen to alter the molecular state, or there was something more to the experiment but the truth is his Buggy went from California to New York on a 4 x Gallon of Water and nothing else.....

    Ive been thinking about this idea for a long time. Hydrogen Combustion Engines. I dont know much about it but im impressed. Your videos are very interesting. I wonder if there is a way to filter out the nitrogen from the air before it enters the cylinder. No NOx would be produced. But I imagine that might be something that cant realistically be done, not as a high paid engineer and certainly not in a backyard. That doesnt mean I dont respect you, this is very inspiring.
    Furthermore, i want to ask if these misfires occur because of hot spots and if yes, how often and how severe is it? Is it a big problem, can it cause engine damage?
    I've also thought about a hydrogen rotary engine... it has been done once, it would maybe eliminate the problem with hot spots...
    But those are just my thoughts, I dont even know much about engines...

    What is that device that is in between the hydrogen supply and the carburetor line? The bubbler looking device past the one way valve where you added the oil?

    • @Hydrogenguys
      @Hydrogenguys  2 роки тому

      it was an air oiler used in compressed air lines, didnt work very well though as the gas feed is so low.

    Have you thought of a better oil system? Maybe just a drip system. Curious if you tried that possibility.

    • @Hydrogenguys
      @Hydrogenguys  2 роки тому

      No I didn’t try that. I will be doing another 2 stroke video soon so will give it a go for you.
      I wonder if a very thin oil can be added to the carburettor and sucked into the engine like it would normally 2 stroke oil is too thick. Or if a very thick oil can be used in the crank case without it going up through the transfer ports.

      @@Hydrogenguys Some natural gas 2 stroke engines have a pressurized oil system to inject the oil in. Not sure of the best DIY way to do that. Thinking about it though. Maybe a very small electric fuel punp. Something that doesn't require much power.

      @@pierro_yz5205 I don't like to work with hho gas. Only pure hydrogen gas, however to make an on-demand hho system make an engine run throughout all the RPM range you would be a big battery. That battery would be better put to use by running electric motors instead and would be more efficient. However I'm sure people would disagree with me.

    what happens when you have a gas leak? doesnt h cloud unlike any other gas? like propane expands n never clouds from all my old readings n shows? like isnt h only safe in planes where you never stop? im confused as i thought it was banned since 20s for public use?

    • @Hydrogenguys

      Not that I have heard of in the UK. Hydrogen gas is commonly used for welding, you can by gas cylinders for it, hydrogen also expands in the atmospheric at over 40mph a second so outside gas build up isn't a isse

    Can I suggest taking some of the exhaust and running back through the motor.. you should notice more control if you want it.

    • @Hydrogenguys
      @Hydrogenguys  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, also I good way to reduce Nox immission, as that's the only immission from hydrogen combustion, usually results in less power though.

      @hissst69 3 роки тому +3

      @@Hydrogenguys dont worry about Nox.. plants produce it.. motors produce it.. not a big deal.. it has a green house effect that plants like :) and later we will convert the Nitrogen to ammonia to put back in the soils directly, not difficult at all.. until then Nox is not something to worry about.. just the Hydrogen nay sayers use it to poo poo Hydrogen, but its a moot point entirely. You will get more horsepower using the exhaust if you do not change the timing on a four stroke...

      Hydrogen combustion in naturally aspirated engines is less powerful than petrol so he piston and cylinder head bolts will hold up fine. Different story with turbo charged or supercharged engines

ICE engines love it.
