@@CruiseWithAmber I definitely will , everyone I’ve met keeps saying that once I’ve been on a cruise 🚢 that’s the only holiday I will ever want to go on in the future. Honestly I’m so excited I feel like a child waiting for Christmas 🎄 xx
@@sarahdon3165 I have a big tip for you - save up for your next cruise now - because there's a good chance you will want to book your next cruise on board. (yes you can do that)
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for watching Abigail and thanks for your lovely comments - it’s the balance I always try to aim for. Lots more to come on Arvia - keep watching.
Glad it was helpful! - you are so welcome - I’ve got another video coming up soon for the green and co too which will have full menus on it. Enjoy your cruise
A great video ! I recently found your channel whilst looking for reviews on P&O Arvia and I’ve really enjoyed it !! Do you do a video on the drinks package ?
Welcome to the channel! I’ve got a video on the current drinks package in progress - but it seems that there are (unconfirmed) rumours that it might be changing - but Im going to be uploading a blog post very soon on my website to I’ll post the link here when it’s live.
@@CruiseWithAmber thats great! I have heard so many conflicting views but your content and tips are very reasonable, so I think I would judge your comments over most ! Thanks for the reply
Sounds great! have a wonderful cruise - there's plenty of options on the breakfast/brunch menus - LOVED their crispy bacon and french brioche fried bread.
Hi 👋 thanks for watching and your lovely feedback. Thanks also for your question - we didn’t get a consistent answer from the crew when we asked 😁 but it was about every three days on the maiden voyage.
Hi Steph Love watching your videos on Arvia and have got some useful tips from them so thank you. We are due to sail in just over a week and so excited as this is our first ever cruise. Can I just ask, if you don't mind, we have been able to book the speciality chargeable restaurants, however the included restaurants such as Meridan, Zenith and 6th Street Diner only give you options to book between 5pm - 6.15pm. Would you know if this is because you have to book when on board for the later times please as we do prefer to eat later than that as these were not showing as options for either restaurant? Many thanks Michelle
Hi Michelle - thanks so much for watching - i'm so please you're enjoying my Arvia Videos, and thank you for your kind words. The earlier slots are available to book in advance, but you can join the queue online on the app once the restaurant opens. Busy times tend to be between 7pm and 8:30 - we used to join the queue from our cabin when we were getting ready at about 6:30 and we found we used to get seated any time between 7:30 and 8:30. Alternatively you can head down to the restaurant desk and grab a buzzer - Andersons Bar is a great place to sit and have a drink which is near the Main Dining rooms (incl olive grove and 6th Street Diner on deck 7) - if you're with kids, then head to the Andersons lounge part (not the Bar part) as kids are allowed in the Lounge part. Hope that helps - and have a wonderful cruise!
Thank you that's really helpful to know and what we thought. As most people we like to eat at those times so will do as you suggested. We are quite happy to sit with a drink before eating. Only 12 days to go 🙂
I'm planning on taking my first cruise in '26 and would love to take the grandchildren. Would the forward family suites be suitable and do you have any advice as to the best deck etc?
How exciting!!! it all depends on what ship - if it's Arvia and you are looking for a suite then my guide might help: cruisewithamber.co.uk/best-suites-on-po-cruises-arvia-full-review-arvia-suites-to-avoid/ Alternatively - you could book two adjoining balcony cabins next to each other (depending on the age of the kids, one of them needs to be at least 16 years of age is they are sharing a cabin together). The best thing to do is to speak to a travel agent who specialises in cruises to help you pick the best cabin. I use Emma Otter Travel counsellor www.travelcounsellors.co.uk/emma.otter/ - she's great for advice on things like this - just tell her Cruse with Amber sent you and she'll look after you! I hope that helps. but let me know if you have any other questions
Forgot to mention that grandchildren are in their 20s.🤣. I've looked at the front family suite on Arvia as a possible but have concerns about pitching and rolling and ,as it's on the promenade deck ,privacy?
I would definitely suggest some adjoining cabins if you're taking grown up grandchildren. but if you are interested in a suite (and they don't mind bunkbeds!) then have a look at these videos. ua-cam.com/video/BgZmen344NQ/v-deo.html - aft suite ua-cam.com/video/sKVx_6kHgNo/v-deo.html - family suite (this is ion Iona butt he suite is identical on Arvia too) ua-cam.com/video/qI1iE1hbzvo/v-deo.html - P&O Suite perks One is the family suite on deck 8 and the other is the aft suite (my preferred choice) which we sailed in as a family of 4 - there's more privacy as the doors can but shut between the lounge and bedroom areas - plus you get he perks of a butler, and breakfast in the epicurean and priority boarding (amongst other things) hope that helps.
the selection was limited on the maiden voyage and they didn't do a great job of marketing it. the website states that there a Chocoholic freak shake and there's a Toffee Popcorn Freak Shake. there's also classic chocolate or vanilla, milkshakes too.
I’d steer clear of the ‘shakes’. Ours were awful. Basically, it’s half a pint of cool (not cold) milk, with a squirt of sauce - topped with fake, room-temperature cream. Best part of £5 for that. 🫤
I agree with Amber here ...we had the cotton Candy cocktail, and it was a huge disapointment...to be honest taste wasn't good either...the rest of the ship we found hit and miss for cocktails ( Andersons was good...but still limited. On the Atlantic crossing there were many signature and advertised cocktails unavailable, and staff were not allowed to go off menu for a bloody Mary, or French 75 for example, even if they had the ingredients)
Awful, awful diner/canteen. We were on Arvia a month ago (May/June) I’d advise the sensible out there to give this place a miss, unless you like uninspiring food and drink AND have lots of time on your hands. We waited over an hour just to get seats and then waited almost 2.5 hrs in total to finish our meals, such was the slow service. We also made the mistake of ordering two so-called ‘milkshakes’, which alone took 30 mins to arrive. They amounted to two cool, half pint glasses of milk, with a dash of strawberry/raspberry sauce stirred in - topped with some fake cream. Little effort, if any, in making them - plus they cost almost £5 each. Admittedly, the ship was running on over 100% occupancy, but come on . . . 2.5 weary hours spent in there. Another couple left before their desserts, for fear of missing a booked show. Says it all really. However, you don’t have to take my word for it though - you might just get lucky and get them on a ‘good’ day. For your sake, I hope you do.
oh no! - i'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. Were these the milkshakes or the Freak shakes?- The freak Shakes weren't available when we were on at Christmas as i really wanted to try them. My tip with this restaurant is to try it out at lunch as it tended to be less busy - and we were able to walk in with no queue on a port day.
@@CruiseWithAmber it was pretty much very busy during every mealtime Amber. We enquired if they actually did milkshakes, as it wasn’t initially obvious that they did. We didn’t know anything about an alternative freak shake though. I only wish, like you - we’d sent our milkshakes back. They were NOT good. 🫤
Very well presented. Thank you 🙏

Do you know if the Miami Vice is included with the de-luxe drinks package?
I don’t think so as it’s a speciality cocktail.
What flavour Milkshakes do they serve? Surely they should be a big thing in an American diner
