Every time he gets a chance to play in the NBA he does well, then they put him back in the G League. It's sad to see but I hope he stays with it. He's a good scorer and a pretty good passer not to mention a good ball handler. He's definitely a bench guy, but I could see him developing into a real scoring threat and someone who can cause some chaos for the other team's defense since he can block shots and crash the boards.

My man Mac said he practiced for a month and a half straight for this contest. Held back at least 5 dunks. Kept the no look in reserve. He knew he could elevate himself to the NBA with a good performance. Crushed it.
All four dunks at a crazy hard level on the first try flawlessly. This is not only a commentary on his athleticism but also his ability to focus under immense pressure.
Brent Barry's dad is Rick Barry who was a Hall Of Fame player. Rick used to shoot his free throws underhanded. It was silly looking but he was pretty accurate with a career 90% percentage.
Wilt Chamberlain also shoot underhand shooting form too. He was so bad with freethrows using overhand shooting, that he needs to change his shooting style.
He averaged 89.3%, but half of the years he played he averaged over 90%. He’s 8th all time in career ft% and he’s the oldest player in the top 10. Free throws are a part of the game that didn’t age or change. Don’t matter what the form is, a pure shot is a pure shot. Gotta respect it.

I will never ever forget, people were buzzing about his being signed to Denver. He ended up guarding Downtown Freddie Brown. Dude went to take an outside shot and the whole place froze. Did we just fuggin' see that? Then the whole place blew up with cheering. Thompson jumped out of nowhere and slapped the ball out of the court, up into the stands. Damn man... dude could skywalk. Which is where he got the name. Skywalker. We've got some skywalkers in history for sure. This McClung dude... who knows if he will stick in the pros. But damn, no question dude is a skywalker.

Gate City is in the middle of nowhere mountains of Southwest Virginia which is why no one has ever heard of it. Macs high school games were so hype you could barely fit in the gym. We went to different high schools in the same area, but it’s pretty awesome seeing someone from a small town make it big.

Gate City is a 2A school in Southwest VA. , just minutes from the Tennessee line. You guys should watch the 2018 state championship game. He had 47 points and set the state single season and career scoring record. Saw him play many times.
yea he was pretty good in high school in Virginia. he set the all state record for Virginia for scoring passing Alan Iverson for the title and could dunk a little too lol, I watched a lot of his high school games and as a senior he led his team to the state title.
My HS alma mater- Marion- plays Mac's- Gate City- every year, and has for 60+ years... they are about 45 minutes away from here in Marion, VA and they are always a tough draw. I've been watching Mac for the past 6 years. You won't find a tougher player or harder worker. He deserves a standard NBA contract, he has outgrown the G League.
You guys should check out the videos of dunks in the ABA if you want to see creative talent. Julius Erving, George Gervin, Roger Brown, Connie Hawkins, David Thompson, George McGinnis, Moses Malone, Artis Gilmore, Maurice Lucas and Larry Kenon. The dunk contest started in the ABA and the 30 second clock also started there. I had season tickets for the New York Nets for all of their years in the ABA and it was fun basketball.

That's a good point. Ability to execute training under pressure is like 99% of what it takes to be an NBA star.

The only thing that kept this from being a great dunk contest was the lack of competition for him. Watch Gordon vs Levine if you want to see GREAT! Vince's first competition was superb, as was Spud Webb with MJ vs Dominique being the classic.
Summer Pro League was held for month for scouts & coaches there to draft players... I worked for basketball coaches and got meet a bunch of players, including Kobe with his dad!!! Love was just a pup!!!😎😎😎
For some reason I thought Rex Chapman, Charlotte Hornets, won the slam dunk contest. He competed twice, '90 and '91, but he never won, just competed and came close to winning.
