Sadly they never will :/ hope someday someone breaks Cruz out of prison and let’s the family have their moment with him and then feed him to some rats after
Dozens of parents have had their children murdered in school shootings since Cruz's. The parents' nightmare remains a reality for others, so I don't see how they can find peace (I hope they can, though). Every time they hear about the latest school shooting it probably triggers them again.
It won't end with Nicolas sadly.

This prosecution team is phenomenal putting on the case for a death sentence. Thank you to the state for not being afraid to give it EVERYTHING it has. These parents deserve full retribution for what the murderer did, but a death sentence will have to do. I hope the jury is unsympathetic to him-especially after seeing him unreformed in that prison.
Personally I'd rather him be locked away in a cell for the rest of his life which is like 80-90 years. Never to see daylight again or the outdoors, never to be free.
It'd be living hell and pure insanity, perfect karma for him and the disgusting actions he did.
Even if he gets sentenced to death, it’s very unlikely to happen. And it’s a little rash to assume all the parents want him put to death.
@@RuzzyID Prison is torture and worse than death thats for sure, but its a heavy burden on the tax payer. Should just do him in the street, real justice would be letting the parents beat him with bats until he is done. But the government will protect him and probably overturn the death sentence if he even gets it. Seems to be the way the government works, protect the quilty and the wicked, hurt the victims and the innocents.
Death is the easy way out.. I work inside of a prison and it’s way worse being inside a facility for life rather than be dead.. so in that case let him sit behind a cell door for 23 hours a day and let him think about what he did and how he will never be outside on the free land again.. Let him eat the soybean grits and drink the powdered milk for breakfast everyday knowing he will never be able to enjoy a good meal ever again in his life. He deserves to sit there and live the rest of his years behind steel doors and concrete walls. Death.. it’s just to easy let him rot inside and let him know he’s useless to the world and that everyone will forever hate him it’s worse on him.
Death penalty is just and merciful compared to being locked away for the rest of your life In a cell unless your afraid of death and what happens next which could really be anything or nothing.

Why do we have trials for perps that have actually confessed in commiting the crimes let's get on with the death penalty and let the families start their healing. It's such a waist of time for all this seeing the parents and family go through that day over and over again such insensitive way of the court system to prove they are in power. My condolences to the parents and victims.
Because the evidence was never presented in a trial that never took place because he plead guilty. He wanted the people to decide his fate. So instead of it being up to a judge, the lengthy drawn out introduction of evidence that would have taken place had he not plead guilty.

If there had been a witness that saw him walking to the school they would put him on the stand. They actually put the Uber driver on the stand. They want every available fact they can get their hands on. Is there anything they saw him do or hear him say that leans into life without parole or a death sentence? Was he talking about voices or showing any other red flags? Did someone see him taking orders from someone? Was there anyone else? Tell us everything about what you saw happening with the defendant at these times so we may better understand the scale of intentions behind the act. In these instances they want to show that he knew exactly what he was doing going as far back as possible to ensure the death penalty. He acted normal and fine which leans into the death sentence argument, despite him not receiving it. They also don't want any information coming out after the fact because the impacts the sentencing, which is bad for everyone involved. Could prevent a hasty appeals process, too. The more information you throw at the wall in court, the better and more accurate the results. Which is important because this same system churns through mostly non-violent, first time offenders and we need the unbiased nature of everything working across the board. The moment we let emotions start dictating actions in court, we lose what little we have left of the system.

Remember, the law and courts are not just about violent offenders, "he's clearly guilty! Just punish him already." More often than not, non-violent offenders or people who haven't even committed an actual crime get turned through the justice system every day... you have to have an unbiased and consistent set of procedures across the board to account for this. What is the logic in a country where someone under the age of 22 can buy a rifle, but not liquor?
Of course, weapons are just a tool in the user's hand, but even buying them should be harder. I don't understand USA gun laws, so many school shootings, surely in some cases stricter laws would save lives. But hey its a freedom of choise i guess...
There are more alcohol related deaths than gun related deaths.
But yeah I agree the alcohol age should be lowered to 18.
Btw after this incident florida raised the age of all firearms to be 21 to purchase
How many people are killed hit over the head with a bottle of whisky?
Alcohol is a much bigger problem to at risk youths and young adults. Alcohol contributes to 45% of violent crime and 72% of domestic violence. Alcohol is also responsible for 110,000 American deaths a year- the second most preventable in the country. If you want to reduce violent crime, limit alcohol sales. Nobody needs 1.75 of liquor in there house or 30 beers. That’s just asking for trouble.
Info obtained from CDC 2019 study and UCR 2017.
In my opinion, those things cannot be completely compared, a person can cause problems for himself with alcohol, of course. But a gun in the hands of a young person or a mentally ill person can lead to the death of countless outsiders. On the other hand, I'm not thinking about a complete ban on guns, you can have guns in my country too. It should be more difficult for weapons to fall into the wrong hands. If the mentally ill can't get a firearm, he might use a knife or something, but at least in that case the killing won't be as effective as with a rifle.
I would not sell a gun to a guy who clearly looks like he can't wipe his own ass.

First of all this man was just doing his job, he had no idea what evil intentions Nikolas Cruz had planned. He had no reason to doubt that he was selling to any one of us who would have purchased that gun ourselves. Cruz fully customized that gun so it would be the same amount of blame to pin on anyone else that sold him any other attachment for that customized gun..so why should this man be held accountable for doing his job?

Bartenders have the power to deny drinks to someone who "seems weird" so YES! Absolutely yes there should be barriers that can slow the sale of a gun to someone who is exhibiting strange behavior!

First of all I'll say any senseless loss of life like this is tragic and I feel for the parents and families of the victims. I can't even begin to imagine how I'd feel if it happened to one of my own. As for the video I see a lot of comments on how the legal age to buy a gun should be 21. In this post I'm not going to agree or disagree with that statement but I will pose a question. If the government says you're an adult, can be held responsible for your actions as an adult and they can draft you, put a weapon in your hands and send you to fight in a war if they deem it necessary at 18, why can't you buy a firearm, cigarettes or alcohol at that age? If they want to restrict rights of "adults" until they are 21 shouldn't the other aspects be changed as well? Again, I'm not trying to get anyone in an uproar I'm just asking what should be done to keep the equation balanced.
Sir, you need to stop making so much sense.
See now that’s the whole purpose !!’ Slowly strip away every right before you know it we will be looking back saying what happped ?

@@gregb.8280 An excellent point. It could very well be used as a tool to take away our rights a little at a time and I'm with you 100% on defending the constitution and what it stands for.
@@templar. I'm pretty sure the state changed the age limit from 18 to 21 is what they were saying although it didn't state that specificly. Most FFLs follow state implemented guidelines on that provided they don't go against any federal laws. I'm also talking about how things are currently as far as the government saying you're enough of an adult to do these things but not to do others. You bring up a great point in that some things being under federal and the others under state jurisdiction. I'm wondering, should being an adult be divided between state and federal jurisdictions depending on the topic or should there be a universal definition of what an "adult" is that both parties hold as the standard? Again, not trying to pick a fight with anyone, just curious what other people think about that.
Very sad and heartbreaking but why did he needed a trial after confessing to murder just hard to put the families back through this pain
answer: its called due process.
We have been conditioned to accept mass shootings at schools as normal. How do I know that? Instead of talking about why young people are acting out and ways to address it, people are talking about bulletproof backpacks/desks, armed guards at every school, installing bulletproof windows, arming teachers, active shooter drills for students, etc. It's like talking about building bomb shelters instead of stopping the bombs from falling in the first place.
I agree and disagree with you. Definitely need more evaluations of mental health. Humans will continue to be humans. We must continue to learn from our tragedies and make adjustments to try and prevent them from happening again. If that means taking every precautionary measure available, then we have to do what we have to do. Adapt and improvise. Stay safe.
He had knives and a collections of guns not just the ar gun
Don’t blame him blame the law that allows a civilian to buy an AR-15

From a European view i find it deepley disturbing that a teenage kid in America who just turned 19 can walk into a gun store and buy a weapon of mass destruction as easy as buying a pack of ciggarettes .... Its utterley astounding to me how America finds it totally fine that kids need to fear for there lives in schools all over the country .
We dont care what you think now shut the f*ck up, your opinion is irrelevant on our gun rights
America = gun fetish. You can see in the advertisements made by gun manufacturers. They show pictures of "cool" special operators and say things like "if it's good enough for these guys, it's good enough for you". There have even been some manufacturers who created ads showing armed men at an ANTIFA protest, acting like they're defending the public. Up until the 2000's gun advertising used to be very responsible and mature, like showing images of hunting and stuff. But after 9/11 it started trying to be all cool and "tough guy", which fuels the fetish.
From an american perspective, i find it laughable that you trust your government to keep you safe and decide for you what you can or cannot have.
@ Mike Americans pay a lot of money in taxes to our government. That’s apart of the issue. Why are we voting in leaders & paying taxes to a government that so many don’t trust to protect. That’s also laughable.

The US has 20, 000 laws on the books for firearms, so trying to legislate further laws won't stop violent crime, as the unwell, and or criminal element will find another way to harm, or they will simply purchase a firearm or illegal item on the black market. The fact is that people aren't always going to conform to societies rules, etiquette, and behavior response, as we've all seen numerous troubling examples of this from all walks of life, ie, young, old, rich, poor, educated, drop-out, etc. The US being the young country that it is naively puts much of its bets on cash, ie, cash to keep you busy, cash to get a more desirous love life, cash to be healthier, cash to improve your appearance, cash to make the un-special feel special, and so on, but more isn't better, better is better, and that better quality is cultivated from the inside out.
People said similar things about seatbelt not making cars safer. “There will still be deaths”, “they won’t prevent accidents”, “they will cause people to die when they wouldn’t have”, “it wouldn’t be enforceable”, “my freedoms will be violated”. Same thing with helmets. It’s an old tired argument.

The person who's in this state of mind will add some kind of drama to his or her life to cope, ie, shopping, food, drugs, drink, sex, and for some, violence.
