It’s honestly the worst. My brother was killed just over a year ago and we’re all still struggling to heal and live with it. We didn’t have parents, we were all each other had. He was our father figure. We’re completely lost without him. You don’t expect to grow old with your parents, but you expect to be able to grow old with your siblings. We were robbed of that joy and peace of mind. It’s heartbreaking what these families are going through.

Mine was an older brother who was only 1 year older than me so we literally grew up right side by side until I was 19. It hurts, it really hurts. It’s such a lonely empty feeling and I feel for this kid man. I just hope he finds a better way to cope with it than I did.

@@malovina at first i took the denial route, numbed myself with drugs and alcohol, i had to keep myself busy constantly to try and not think about it so i eventually found myself running a muck in the streets with a group of, well… ill just say not the best kind of people you could have as friends. That only sunk me deeper into that hole which made it harder to pull myself out of once i was ready to face the reality of what happened. Now im 31 and practically forced to choose either a life of crime, drugs and alcohol or a life of sobriety and stability but full of loneliness with nobody.
My heart goes out to these families. As a mental health counselor however, nothing these families say actually matter to Nicolas. The blank/ empty stare in his eyes shows his lack of remorse/empathy/understanding. He is a sick individual. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the people who are hurting. ❤

As someone much older, who lost his only sister and sibling, due to cancer... my heart breaks for this young man, as I understand the true feelings of loss and emptiness too. If I could, I'd reach out, and give him a hug, and tell him that his sister is watching out for him, like mine has for me. This young man has matured overnight due to this horrific tragedy, but the anger and passion in him, will serve him in time. I actually feel his is destined to become an attorney himself... for the prosecution! And he will be a damn good one! 😊

What an incredibly wise, thoughtful and brave young man. There is no words to describe the impact upon a child when their sibling dies. It’s not only the loss of their friend, the confidante, their ally. Nor is it having to watch your loved ones with broken hearts, with no way to help them. But it’s also the the necessity to alter their position within the family, as this bright young man, so clearly spelt out. In the blink of an eye, this young man went from being a brother of two children, to an only child, so violently, and needlessly. The enormity of these things can barely be imagined. But I hope if nothing else, he will always remember that on the day he spoke those words he paid the most loving, thoughtful strong tribute to his sister possible. She would I am sure, be so proud of him. I hope that he is able to build the best life possible for himself, grasping every opportunity to ensure the best quality of life for himself and of course his family. Being a Daughter of a murdered victim ( unrelated to this ), I understand fully what these Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Boyfriends, Girlfriends, ect. are going through. And I personally want to say to them, you're not alone in your grieving, the emotional wounds will never heal. There will be better days, and then there will be days where you just want to turn back the hands of time and this wouldn't have ever happened.
I’m pretty sure it was 1 juror who refused to consider the death sentence. That juror should be arrested and tried for perjury, because he lied to get on the jury.

Upon hearing this young man speak he reminded me of my own younger brother, throughout his statement I thought about my own brother and how he would feel exactly the same way Anthony does. I truly wish peace upon their family
This young man and his dad need to do everything they can to change laws.
What laws need to be changed? Murder is illegal. Did that prevent the murder of 17 people? This evil F broke multiple laws.
What an incredibly wise, thoughtful and brave young man. There is no words to describe the impact upon a child when their sibling dies. It’s not only the loss of their friend, the confidante, their ally. Nor is it having to watch your loved ones with broken hearts, with no way to help them. But it’s also the the necessity to alter their position within the family, as this bright young man, so clearly spelt out. In the blink of an eye, this young man went from being a brother of two children, to an only child, so violently, and needlessly. The enormity of these things can barely be imagined. But I hope if nothing else, he will always remember that on the day he spoke those words he paid the most loving, thoughtful strong tribute to his sister possible. She would I am sure, be so proud of him. I hope that he is able to build the best life possible for himself, grasping every opportunity to ensure the best quality of life for himself and of course his family. I send him my love, and of course to his parents. They, and his sister will be forever in my thoughts. Teresa x.

Being a Daughter of a murdered victim ( unrelated to this ), I understand fully what these Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Boyfriends, Girlfriends, ect. are going through. And I personally want to say to them, you're not alone in your grieving, the emotional wounds will never heal. There will be better days, and then there will be days where you just want to turn back the hands of time and this wouldn't have ever happened.
Prayers for this young man , his family and all the families that lost loved ones due to this animal!

Short and sweet I feel his pain in just 3 1/2 minutes I feel for him so much everyone always focuses on the parents when a child is lost (as they should) but I feel the pain siblings of victims feel are often forgotten he made everyone remember he carries the same bravery and heart his sister did and she lives on in his love and memories

I doubt they could move 'forward' waiting for the trial to take place, and during it. 4 1/2 years is far too long to wait for justice(if you believe that came after the jury's recommendation) Nobody can know how they 'should' feel unless in the same boat as them. It isn't a worldly tragedy for them, it is a personal tragedy.
