This used to be our song. You used to sing it to me in the back of the car between kisses. After we ended I couldn't listen to it without crying. Now I hear it and smile... laugh at our silly matching mohawks and the skinny jeans we used to fight over. It's strange, I grew up... and you're exactly how I remember you. The memories are good ones.
many of us have gone through that too, glad to see you've worked through them and moved on. Its wonderful when you can get to that place and look back and smile at the good time. Life is about moving forward rather than focusing on the past. Good luck to you.
i love this version of the song. i had it on my computer years ago but my hard drive crashed and i haven't been able to find a copy since. thanks for posting :)
I know it's all personal opinion, but Punk Rock Princess is garbage compared to this. These lyrics deserve a beautiful sound, and this piano is just perfect. So much emotion here!
The song was called Heroin originally, they only changed the title to Punk Rock Princess because the record company didn't think the name "Heroin" would be very marketable
I remember listening to this over and over helping my friends mom search for her after running off with her heroin dealer in '03...what a fucked up time
@natethomas2003 that makes no sense, because as boggster15 said why would he say "I could be like heroine" he's a guy not a chick, so yeah heroin makes more sense.
@betamick it is heroin, what he means is he wants to be like her drug, hence why he says that "if I could be your first real heartache" meaning if he could kill her heart like heroin kills someone physically, it makes lots of sense.
@@Shanelie - "Heroine" wouldn't make sense. Andrew has recorded various versions and live recordings and people have uploaded the video with the title as "Heroin". He states what the song is about--he was a senior, dating a freshman, who was into punk rock music. In order to date her, he'd take her to shows. There isn't a recording uploaded by him/his label with anything other than "Punk Rock Princess."
2023 & here I am.. A song that just hits me in the gut every time I hear it.
This is the only place you could find this version! They don't even have it on Spotify! It's by far the best. ❤

Becoming a grown up is a hellava thing
Beautiful
Knew this was the same version I had on a mixtape 20 years ago when I heard that weird volume increase @3:00.
I KNOW!!!!!’ I thought the exact same thing!
Ah, the ghosts of girlfriends past. I love the pain for them, still.
When he sings "can't be replaced" he sounds like he is in pain. I like it
I can't believe how long ago I first heard this. Time feels like it's just slipping away.
Brings me back, Good stuff!

For those wanting to know where to find this version of the song... it appeared on The Galaxy Sessions - 2001. Enjoy ;)
This version gives me chills. Way better version

It's actually called Heroine. Any way you can change the title?
IanTheGamer // ITG exactly. The song is called Heroine.
@@Shanelie - The song is called "Punk Rock Princess."
Brooke Taylor not this version

what album is this from?
It's not "heroin", it's "heroine" as in female hero. It has nothing to do with heroin, the drug.
My guy friend made me a mixed CD with this song on it...
I think he's trying to tell me something.
Was he?
I prefer this version.. :/
HEROIN? ma non è semplicemente la versione piano di PUNKROCK PRINCESS?
lol
Why would he say "I could be like heroine" that makes no sense whatsoever. Especially since he's a guy..
Heroin? This is Punk Rock Princess... Where did you get the title Heroin???
