Horizon herbs has a Russian comfrey (plants) which I grow. I forget what the difference is but healed my ankle fracture some yrs back. I only boiled water and dipped leaves in h2o for a minute and wrapped ankle with whole leaves and a cloth. No doctor needed!
A Note? Anyone who has Allergic Contact Dermititis? They should wear gloves! The hairs on Comfrey are pronounced! In fact, to some degree, filtering the oils and teas should be done for this reason. I have this issue. Touching Comfrry triggers me! Flour, peach skins, dog hair, stems of pumpkin and squash and cucumbers, African violets and much more, triggers me! To get over it can take me YEARS, once i am triggered. What started my provlem was pulling Deadly Nightshade in my garden!
Now...how do I get it from taking over? lol That stuff grows worse than weeds down here in Oklahoma, but the bees absolutely adore it! I just don't want it choking out my blueberries.
Would the salve recipe hole true to any dry medicinal plant you want to make into a salve? 1oz dry medicinal plant, 8oz oil, 1 tbls 100 proof , 1oz bees wax, and how many oz of Vitamin E?

Some folks put pavers around the area where they grow to help the seeds from spreading. Hope that helps.
I was just trying to find a start of comfrey but not sure if I should grow it at my house because apparently it can be invasive

From my experience? Recipies vary. Depends on the Purpose. Also if uou want hard Salve, or softer. You can make it straight.
