      How do you intonate ? I have the same Kramer and it’s floating at the right angle but I’m getting fret buzz on the first few frets and a few strings

    I went to Adams Reiver's FU-Tone shop today to take him a very special guitar, that to me has immeasurable sentimental value. It's my 1st real guitar and it's a 1988 Charvel Import Model 5FX . It is almost mint . Upon meeting Adam, I'm gonna tell you, he knows his stuff. He knows everything about everything he is talking about and will show you by example. He is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. I will be having FU-Tone upgrade my guitars and recommend them to anyone. Their Artist roster is 2nd to none. Check out FU-Tone

One thing is the gold one I got from them isn't gold plated... but still gonna look and sound nice in my 60th Anniversary USA Commemorative Strat! You Rock Adam!!! 😎🤘🎸

      Yeah, but they upgraded all their players to a floating two-point tremolo, & it's a different beast now. The players they're making today 4 only $699, are nearly as good as Ultra's from 2010, & that's from the many mouths of 2000's era Ultra owners, that have a new Player Strat as well. The advances in Guitar making over the past decade have changed the game, & Fender had to produce a better guitar 4 less, or die, & they actually did it. To make them even more attainable, they can be had for less $ right now, because the pandemic tanked the entire guitar market; new/collectable/vintage, all of it. I have a 2014 Gibson Anniversary Explorer (My fav guitar), that had gathered some impressive value in only 6yrs. New they were anywhere from $1500-1800, & at their peak they were valued at $2200, but then came Covid & at their lowest, around the 3 mos mark or mid May, they were @$1400. Everything else is down too, & its slowly crawling back, & will go much higher eventually, but for now; on Reverb you can find mint condition store/ mail-order "returns" for $550. That's a professional playing Strat, w/new trem, & a 1yr warranty, w/45 day returns from the seller; Sam Ash music! They are in the absolute best condition, because whatever reason they're returned is noted/fixed, & then reconditioned/replaced to new condition. Mine is so incredible & jawdropping that I just spent 5 mins telling a stranger how f'ing great the new models are, & where they can be had for the best price, haha. No, I dont' work for Fender or Reverb, or Sam Ash hahaha, but I actually feel a little guilty for getting this guitar at that price. I shouldn't, but it doesn't even seem possible tbh. -Cheers

      @@JeighNeither, so I’m late to the proverbial dance here, but what are you getting at? Especially, if you don’t work for Fender, or Sam Ash? I can tell you this, you sure aren’t gonna get a sales job at FU-Tone with this comment/outlook.🤪
      FU-Tone is and has always been, about end to end tone AAAAND TONE CONTROL. Adams (FU-Tone founder) obsession, has helped thousands of players solve their unique challenges over the years, making them better at their craft. FU-Tone specializes in taking a substandard situation (the guitar, its hardware, condition of both, etc.) and figuring out how to make it the best it can be. Whether it’s re-conditioning, or upgrading standard/stock parts as needed for the desired result, it doesn’t really matter. If you have an issue, FU-Tone’s probably ALREADY SOLVED IT. That is what’s so special about this company; they don’t complain about problems, they just fix $hit...ALL OF IT. Then...they (Adam) share(s) the solutions developed, with all of us. Aaand they do it, to make US better players. So let’s stick to that “narrative” and see the true value in what the FU-Tone team brings to the table...for all of “us”, in the guitar player community. REGARDLESS of the type of player, the level of player, the notoriety of the player, or lack thereof; it really doesn’t matter to Adam. As long as there is a guitar problem involved, Adam and team are ALL IN. That’s what’s important to me and I’m pretty sure it’s important to most of us. It’s also why FU-TONE.com is my first stop, when tryna fix and/or even “figure out” ANYTHING related to bringing my arsenal up, to the gold standard FU-Tone will ALWAYS deliver/provide.🤘🏻💯🤘🏻
      P.S. Like you, I don’t work in the guitar biz (other than buying and selling within my gear), I just love to support companies that put in the work, for the community it serves. Over the years I’ve learned, and it’s so apparent...nobody focuses on “tone”, I’d even say guitars (and dissection/breakdown analysis) like FU-Tone. Why buy a new fender “player”guitar, when I can upgrade the one I’ve already bought? Plus it’s fun to watch AND listen, to your guitar transform, as you upgrade and/or tweak; eventually getting it to where it’s perfect for YOU. Again, that’s where the FU-Tone team can “deliver the goods”...every time! Okay, that’s all for now...🤘🏻☮️&💟🤘🏻

      @@frankmcnail3918 I think his point is the newer Fender guitars in say $500 price range dont need this bridge. They are built better now and these type of upgrades to an extent are kinda obsolete. But with that said, I still see a reason to possibly upgrade a guitar with this bridge. But to each their own. But i think this is what he was getting at. ;-) happy new years

    When locking the saddles should the back of them be flush with the body or down so the front of the saddles are pointing up a little ?

  • @gillyboyNY
    @gillyboyNY 3 роки тому

    I got it but the saddles only have a fraction of the adjustability in comparison to the bent steel saddles, so I wasted my money, because all my saddles are full forward and intonation is still a little flat on 12. Probably get rid of it on Reverb soon. If your current saddles a near max, fore or aft, steer clear of the Vega Trem.

    • @BigPhi84
      @BigPhi84 4 роки тому +1

      If your Strat has a trem with a 2-stud mount, Vega offers a model of their trem with conversion bushings that change the studs to screws. It is non-invasive, so you can swap back to the original bridge at any time should you wish.

    You don't provide any information about the sound and sustain of the vegatrem. It is a very thin block which I think causes the sound to be thinner and less sustain? A steady tremolo is great, but if the sound becomes thin and sustain decreases, I think many strat players say no to the vegatrem! It may be quality steel, but a lot of money for a thin block

    Didn't Floyd come up with this first with the Rail Tail?

    • @BigPhi84
      @BigPhi84 4 роки тому +2

      The Rail Tail is similar in concept, but if it is setup to float, it only has a few millimeters of upward travel.
      Since the bridge plate of this Vega trem is smaller than the traditional strat trem cutout routing, the upward motion with the trem bar is much greater than other pop-in strat bridge replacements. The only concern I have is the mass of this bridge and the small trem block (it’s tapered to allow even more range of motion).

      @@stevechance4422 Pretty sure you would have to retune, as it isn't a locking system with a DTuna outfit on it. I am avoiding the Floyd Rose thing and the locking nut. NEVER EVER tune or intonate the guitar lying flat. ALWAYS in the playing position. Gravity will press on the guitar when it's lying flat and you can easily demonstrate it by tuning a note on its back and listen when you put it into the playing position and you'll hear the note go flat.
