The new Essence Reaver is making big waves on the tier list. In this guide we'll explain how to play the biggest Essence Reaver abusers, some champs that should only build it sometimes, and a few champions that really need to be careful with the item.
Essence Reaver will receive a hotfix *today changing Passive buff duration from 8 to 6 seconds, and Attack Speed from 30% to 50%
*Getting Essence Reaver in Kai’Sa’s AP build also gives her enough stats to upgrade her Q

Essence Reaver just received a hotfix today as this video was being uploaded, changing the passive buff duration from 8 to 6 seconds and the Attack Speed passive buff from 30% to 50%.
Also worth mentioning that if Kai'Sa gets Essence Reaver on her AP build she will be able to upgrade her Q.

Essence reaver passive can be extended by activating your ult a multitude of times within the same time frame.
Think ults like Akali and Teemo can extened the passive for a very long time.

i like to build rageblade into essence reaver into nashor on kaisa to have all my abilities evolved and max cdr and then runaans (bc the bolts count for her e with rageblade and essence reaver) and then a lifesteal or def-item..kinda like this build a lot

My rule of thumb is: "If ya ain't range, be tanky" so I pick up early tanky items on everything but ability based assassin's and rangeds.
So, I did play Yi a few times but mostly with titanic second after blodrazer and I feel way to squishy if I don't (even though I actually use q and w for dodge/res and I am mostly there for the follow- and cleanup) so fitting this into my Yi build will be hard me being someone who doesn't even think to high of rageblade.
But i have to try this anyway! It sounds damn fun
Renek main. Funnily enough, I build deaths dance after tiamat and skip BC entirely. Shod try it tho. Plus ER hehehe

hey guys is Essence Reaver good for vayne?
Is there any chance could abuse this item as well? Ulti aatrox with guinsoo and ER just hitting and jumping again and again, never letting the target escape.
BasztimE aatrox skills are so bad that most of the time you simply dont use them even if you have them up. Too slow, no impact, stuns you while casting. Pointless in the actual aatrox, and looks like it will be the same for the rework (which is awful in its own right)
what about ER taric? any change this item will be abused by sp champ?
Tear into Archangel's staff would work better since it gives the same CDR,same price, better scaling (better heal and stun), scales better with his items since you are likely going to have a glacial shroud base item, and the ER active doesn't justify using it (since taric ultimate has a long CD) .
The thing with support is that there aren't really a lot of AA based supports, and even if taric is one, the build makes also the item not that usefull.
I guess blitz could work, but he generally doesn't need to use the grab twice is a teamfight, he doesn't seem to struggle with mana, but atleast his E does scale with AD.
The only supports that I could think otherwise are niche support like poppy and trundle.
in theory, taric's ability rotation doesn't include an easy way to auto attack - unless he lands a stun first. the other problem is, taric doesn't really want the stats on ER. still possible as a semi-troll build, if enemy team simply never focuses taric.
Um, Essence Reaver gives AD and taric only scales hybrid off of armor/ap. Taric's biggest problem with reset-spamming is the fact that he is an immobile melee champion, so any peel stops his resets. If you build E-Reaver on Taric, the enemy needs only to peel and oneshot you/somebody before your r activates. Also, Taric R has a disgustingly long cool-down. Taric can already infinity heal if he is allowed to auto, you would be better off scaling up the power of your heals and shields instead of getting more resets. Yes, you could use your stun a lot, but anyone caught in it in the first place will probably be dead before you can cast another one, it's target specific but could work against a hypertank that doesn't cc you back.
Old taric on top lane with this item would be a beast but thr new one can't 1 vs 1 because even if he wins thr enemy can easily run away.

ESSENCE on rengar is bad i've tried it as a rengar main, the amount of time you waste on ult (waiting to engage) and as of essence flare only has a duration of 6 secs which is a waste and even though you managed to wait and engage you could only land 2-3 aa's which is terrinle but stormrazors on him is strong af

gp would be interesting... he should be able to trigger the essence flare with his Q, which could lead to some extra barrels and even more Qs. the stats are great for gp too.

Rightnow im thinking to rush trinity, the katana, sterak gage and this item and pssibly 2 other bruiser or more dmg item.he should be able to deal with adc and midlane with help from a support like thresh
by katana u mean stormrazor? lol
stormrazor is pretty cool on gp too, definitely sounds like a more consistent replacement for old IE. if ur getting obscenely fed, there might even be a super rare edge case for buying stormrazor into new IE, skipping last whisper.
however, to be an utter pest, going triforce into reaver sounds kinda cool too... 2 item 40cdr.

Thats why i dont build critic with gp, if i manage to do well i can buy the lethality veil for have an oportunity to iniciate with r and 2 barrel combo and another 2 barrel without getting hit for refresh stomrazor. It is sure to be insane
There were some dumb mistakes though... the old ER gave 30% CDR with 30% crit chance. Don’t know why the video kept showing it gave only 20%. This is why Ashe was good with the old ER. You get 30% CDR from ER + a completed Zeal item and take Transcendence, which gave you full 40% CDR in the mid game making your ult at a really low cool down. This made your pick potential as Ashe just amazing... now she’s even worse than she EVER was, and there’s no sign of Riot buffing her... :(

Played jax with essence reaver, let's just say his e stays up all the time for 8 seconds+ you get atleast 3 stuns, and if you are agains aa heave tteam it's gg for them... i played with a friend, who played renekton, he got camped, i said "just fuck it, buy a essence reaver" he knew theres nothing else to do since he was 1/3, bought it, then went 10/3, i was 9/4 vut i said "yo, its busted, lol imma buy it too" and holy shit we popped them!

Build Essence on Rengar since Crit is useless now and it honestly hacking.
If you build Yomuss and your jungle item then essence 3rd you have 40% CDR and your a is up basically permanently in teamfights

Blitz does not work in the Philippines server currently as the internet blocks anything from the outside, and blitz is hosted in the US.
It's possible we will support PH in the future, but likely not for a while

I pretty much rush essence reave on renekton, it's pretty much broken
Not even gonna bring up my boy Blitzcrank, Q-R-W-E combo, you get all that tasty AS and Mana from essence, MS and AS from W, auto reset on E, throw an Iceborne Gauntlet in there to keep them held down, and your Q is back up by the time you're self-slowed by your W ending so you can pull them back in and keep the CC rolling. Not to mention his R is on a 12 second cooldown at rank 3 with 40% CDR, so you can do it more often than your average champion, AND, you get to play BruiserCrank, the best way to grab-n-fist unwilling anuses.
Activate E before your Q-R to prepare it so you can R right as they land near you, into an uppernut, and since they're silenced, what are they going to do, flash? Even if they do you've already procced IG and your W is fired up and ready to serve. You can boogy right back up to the booty and get a few more autos in before essence reaver ends and get that 2nd Q, and even get W rolling double time.

Riot keep buffing ADCs and ignoring tanks and supports , supports are useless in many cases but you still have nami good cause she has bubble heal and E which can help ADC to deal magic damage and slowing effects and nami ulty is good for team fights but rest are way useless now you have to pick mid mage as support to push bottom Lane and win faster

ER on renekton is busted rofl none can1v1 u amd there is no point in building tanky yet so IDK do u ppl even know what u are talking about but to me if u can split push and1v1 anyone it's a way to go in solo q but not everyone is smart enough to notice it same for anivia champ is broken tho ppl started noticing it only recently amazing early game if u are skilled and insane late game.riven is shit and needs buffs to be a good pick
the only reason to buy Essence Reaver on Rene is either because you have bc and titanic really early into the game and want to add salt to the wound or because you and your team are extremely fed and you buying a "troll" item would hurt the game (or because you want to make clickbait videos on ytbe)

Like in the clip with hashinshin dying on jax to kaisa, the narrator was saying that buying essence reaver will leave jax "way to squishy", but in that peticular game hash was going full glass cannon with a gunblade and bortk along with his standard trinity and essence. It's also worth noting kaisa was ap and very fed. extremely
