Another great addition to this build would be Deviners Kevlar. I like it because of the cooldown and lifesteal but also it allows you to swap and win engagements with multiple enemies or swap even when you are both low in a 1v1 to make sure you get the kill and get away.
learned geist from your first guide, and she's now my top played!! my favorite way to play her is what i call "carpet bomber geist" i basically rush echo shard and grab magic carpet in the midgame, and then i fly around like green goblin and wreak havoc upon the enemy team. reverb on malice is smart tho, i might have to start doing that :P i usually put it on bomb
I'm a big fan of Surge of Power on Geist, specifically on the bomb. It has the exact same cooldown as the bomb, so using the bomb on cooldown is also triggering SoP's attack speed and movespeed on cooldown as well (make sure Superior Cooldown is placed on Malice or Swap instead or the cooldowns desync, which is awful). With Superior Cooldown, it's 6s duration and 8s cd. The extra spirit power on bomb + lingering damage lets it solo kills medium neutral camps way earlier. I tend to get it over Improved Burst early game, since until enemies get high HP pools, the initial burst of IB's 7% isn't that much bigger than SoP's damage increase, and IB doesn't increase the lingering damage or speed up neutral farm. I still get IB later though, but after Reverb. I also really like Echo Shard late game. Getting a refresh on life drain once maxed is mega value for a huge silence on priority targets. Really lets you shut down nearly anyone that is going in unless they buy Unstoppable.
This is a bit risky since Essence Bomb's spirit scaling for self-damage is significantly higher than its damage (1.97 vs 1.15). Improved Spirit Armor would practically be required. Not a bad idea, but I did want to mention the risk.
New player here! Came across the latest version of this build in game and it’s the one that really made Lady click for me, to the point where I still havent played the rest of the heroes! A cool thing I noticed with LG is that it’s really easy turning the fight back on a mo and krill have you disarmed as they’ll likely underestimate how spammable malice is 😊
this is basically exactly the build i've been going save for the improved cooldown. I'm not convinced it's necessary on geist, your CDs are already extremely low besides ult
considering you view headhunter as a slot filler anyway, I would advise against headshot booster. Headshot booster is really great on shotgun heroes bc you only need one pellet to hit in order to get the full bonus. With a semi auto slow rate of fire gun like Geist's, that puts a lot of pressure on you to click heads on cooldown. Given this is mostly a spirit build, I think hollow point ward is the better early game option assuming you aren't getting steam rolled in lane such that your health is always below 60%
I'm a fan of Mystic Reverb on ult for the sheer damage potential in a teamfight. Get your health low by draining into teammates, warpstone onto the enemy tank, ult, and watch everyone in 25m take 40% of the 2,500 damage you just did when the reverb procs. If it's a little later in the teamfight, there might be a few malice stacks around to get even more damage. It also messes up conventional wisdom that once Geist has ulted she's relatively vulnerable, because when the reverb procs her health bar is going to full again. Obviously you have to watch out for silence glyph.
Can't wait to run this. I've been playing your old Geist build and I've found that Im so much better with her than other heroes I've had to play her less to avoid cranking my elo too high and making the game unplayable on other heroes 😅
I've become a believer in MR on Malice for a few reasons. First off, it does do low damage...on the first stack. As you get more debuffs going, the MR damage starts to spike, and it gets easier to apply each time you use it thanks to the slow debuffs from Malice+MR Also, since Malice's cooldown is so low you have reverb on demand. You can chunk well if you have MR on bomb, but Malice becomes an even better "oh shit' button with MR.
If you duo lane against abrams, mo & krill or dynamo healbane is a must have. You deny 2 hero's healing making it easier to push so the guardian is always vulnerable + your bomb is always hitting it at that point. Denying shop time is also great since only high mmr players know what to buy in 2 seconds and people automatically try to hide there.
I am a Headshot Booster hater and a Fleetfoot enthusiast, so I would personally run Monster Rounds instead of HSB and Fleetfoot instead of Kinetic Dash. I'd also give Divine Barrier an honorable mention, though I'm really not sure if it's worth picking it over the Spirit Lifesteal/Healing Booster combo.
Hey Eskie, great build video. In the basic skill combo section, you mention using malice after bomb because it slows them down and makes it easier for the bomb to land. But wouldn't that still be true if you used malice first? I'm not sure where I first heard of malice before bomb, it may have been one of your other videos, but I think there is probably a broader explanation for doing the skills in that order that is missing in this video.
Oh yeah, and one other thing. I've been using a slightly modified version of your older build in all of my Geist games, and I've found it super helpful. One swap I made was switching out Headshot Booster for Basic Magazine. At the time my reasoning was that I don't get enough headshots for headshot booster to outdamage Basic Mag in my gameplay, but now that you mention that you rarely upgrade to Headhunter, I think there's an even better case for Basic Mag. The reason is, if you don't end up upgrading to Headhunter, I think Basic Mag probably outscales Headshot Booster later in the game since Geist's bullet growth is enormous (and the better percentage damage boost+ammo still benefit it).
Also also: people gave you a really hard time for mispronouncing Viscous, but you are a Geist main, and SHE pronounces it Viscose, so can anyone rightfully blame you?
Ya I've definitely been thinking of swapping Headshot Booster. The order of Malice and bomb isn't a huge deal but I personally find it easier to hit a bomb throwing it first and then applying the Malice
How we feel about monster rounds? I normally take it instead of headshot booster/headhunter cause i can buy it early to gain a bit more lane advantage, especially when solo. But i dont know how good it is late game, i do find myself doing the most obj damage and healing by the end though so thats fun i guess lol.
Mystic Reverb on bomb is better IMO. Bomb without malice typically does 500 damage then procs for 40% more on reverb making the total on bomb around 700. Add malice in the mix and it make for higher damage output as well as life steal. Plus the DOT on the bomb with the slowing effect makes for added damage. Once you add reach into the mix the bomb is so big its practically impossible not to hit
@@kookoo275 once you get knives to level 3 though you shouldnt miss that much but that is at 15+ minutes in the game. usually ill have reverb before knives are fully upgraded.
Have you considered extra stamina instead of sprint boots to synergize with kinetic dash? I've been playing this and found it much better in lane because you're shooting often enough to not get the sprint
I like the idea of the build, focusing on your sticking power, but tbh I don’t think you should ever need all that mobility on Lady Geist if you’re positioning correctly. I’ll still run it and see if I prefer it though, ty for the information 😊
@@kookoo275 I would argue that you never need to “get in” to use your ult as Lady Geist. The enemy has to get in on you. You stay your range, lob your bombs and malice shards. With her built in slow and silence you can’t really get away from Geist unless you burn anything, and then bam you got pressure. Lady Geists ult, while it has low range, is incredibly powerful. So many players get baited and go into Geist and then she health swaps. To have more range or effective range on the ult seems a little useless to me, when there are other strong items that improve her mage playstyle. Again, this is just my own opinion and I’m going to try out this more mobile Geist and see how it rocks out.
@@p1psq33ky i think you pointed out the issue in your own answer- worse players won't play around your ult but better players won't allow you to get in range. I've also been skipping blink but i get the sense that better players won't get baited into playing into ult so warp stone or phantom strike might be necessary vs better players.
@@kookoo275 perchance! Genuinely might need to put in more games, play into higher and higher mmr and see if being and building to be more proactive with the ult is the way to go. Appreciate your comments all the same.
Against some matchups (Yamato, lash) i feel that maxing 2 before 3 to get that silence makes a big difference. I'm surprised you don't go mystic slow with the 3 max.
I definitely see where you're coming from. Suppressor and Mystic Slow should be in the situational section. I think you have enough slow with Mystic Reverb on Malice, but the fire rate debuff is good against left click heroes
@@eskie-gaming I think if you are one of the less farmed heroes on your team suppressor/mystic slow is a good cheaper option to disable enemy carries and enable your team. With 2s cd on malice you have that slow up on them 100% of the time. If I'm more farmed I favor the higher damage items instead.
