You explained this very well. Developmental appropriateness and boundaries of grace and courtesy. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing such an insightful idea about how and when to share materials among toddlers.

In my classroom when the kids are enjoying their activity sometimes the teachers cutting them off from their activities because they said that they have to falling their routine, they provide10 minutes to each activity that is made confusing because you said and Maria Montesori said that you have to leave them alone as much as they want to do that activities so why this teacher confused the kids 😢

It's easy to talk about this kind of thing. Where can I find practical demos?

Good question. I'll do some demos in a future video.

I get your point. But how do we deal with the other child and make him/her understand that he/she can't have things as and when they want, that they have to wait their turn. Doesn't pulling them back on their natural urges (as a child) also hurt their confidence. Where do we strike the balance.

That's a tricky one. You can only focus on your child. We can't stop other children from taking things but we can help our children to understand that they shouldn't just go and take things from other people. I see what you're saying about stifling natural urges but taking something you want when you want it when someone else is using it is not an area where I'd want to build a child's confidence. When a young child does this, we understand that they do so because they lack impulse control, they're focused on themselves, etc. and we handle the situation gently but it's not a behaviour to encourage.

@@themontessoriroom unfortunately both kids are mine 😀. And yes, as you said we don't encourage that behavior. After seeing this video we even ask them to wait for their turn.

And how can the situation be addressed when the child is under 3 years old?

Hi there, Do you mean over the age of 3? I'm speaking primarily about children under the age of 3 in the video.

    I guess there's always exceptions.

Absolutely! It's difficult to speak on every potential scenario :)
