in both saws like the work culture MS 461 fine motor spins at idle MS 661 is also the sound of the engine sound similar but in the movie you can see that 661 wins but for me the favorite remains the MS 461

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Despite the one really strange comment, the dude running these saws is making a fairly balanced comparison. Getting on the various forums and pounding "HUSKY" or "STIHL" into your keyboard doesn't mean a thing until you actually run the saws through the same saw logs on the same job. I've operated various makes and sizes professionally and, performance-wise, there's not a lot between the brands and, in fact, I'd even pound the word "DOLMAR" into a keyboard as far as that goes. When it comes right down to it, it's all about being able to keep your saws in the wood, so support is what really separates the brands. Despite the comment I'm referring to, nice job by this video's creator, Dechsi87.

I own a 461 mastermind worksaw. And I love the saw the 661 has more torque and bar and chain options. I've went up to a 36" bar on the 461 on oak. It will do it but you gotta let it breathe a bit 661 you gotta breathe a bit. So 461 at 28" bar all day, 661 everything above imop.

Should be doing cuts both down and up!on the back of the chain also I've used all these saws doing forestry and arborticultre and tbh the only reason you would buy a 661 is if you where cutting big timber and you need a 36"bar or somthing, the 46 and the 372 are the best all rounder saws you can get!

ones got more grunt" and great with bigger bar, just depends when, but cant go past 461cm wiith sharp chain" or 261cm, they can do what bigger saws used to do"

nice video. well done. I had the same results using the 8pin vs 7pin. Wonder if 8pin would do better with a full skip chain?

If you have the funds (I know money does not grow on trees) do an accuracy and gel test of the new Hornady Critical Duty 10mm, along with the Federal Premium Trophy Bonded 10mm. I would gladly donate ammo for testing!

I enjoyed the video, but I'm not sure what it shows. I have a 661 and a nice little 170. Neither of them cut well when I have let the chain go blunt: the opposite is also the case.
And if I really bother with measuring the master cutter and file the other teeth to that size, set the correct angles on each tooth and file the raker to the correct clearance (0.65 mm) - then any chainsaw will do well. Husky, Stihl, whatever......

These chainsaw "vs" videos are completely useless unless each saw is new and has the exact same chain.
