I've owned two 71Demon 340's. One in Green Go with a automatic. I ordered it with all the good stuff in May 1971. Scoops, buckets and console and 3.91 gears. Drag raced it Super Stock. Then I bought a 71Duster 340 Super Stock from a friend. It had 740 miles. Same interior as yours and Butterscotch too! I currently own another 71Demon 340 4-speed in Hemi orange V2. Black Bucket seats with 14,400 original miles. It has the scoops and spoiler. My cars were all built at the Hamtramck plant. My brother had a 70 Dart Swinger 340 in B5 blue. I traded my 72 Charger Rally 340 4-speed for his Dart. Guess you could say I've owned and raced a few A-bodies. My Duster was the quickest. 11.20s @ 121mph. It was also the National Record holder back around 1975. Your Demon is very nice. You should take it to a track and see what she'll run. Make another video about it. Have fun and good luck with your Mopar.
Wonderful machine! I remember these from my childhood. Was in grade school when that Demon was new. I’ve always liked the Demon and the Duster. You got a nice one!
That is another BEAUTY of an A-Body that found it's way into your driveway! Seldom seen these days... And, a by the way: NO 340 Dusters came with hood scoops much less the 340 emblems on them... But it is so common to see the Dusters with the scoops these days, that people assume.
Demons & Dusters did more for the Mopar reputation on the street than any of the big block cars of its day. These cars were capable of easy 13s in the 1/4 mile with a performance axle and a set of headers. In the 70s & 80s that was fast. Very few cars on the street could top that...
Guaranteed Fun Ride right there!!!! A keeper for sure! Enjoy it. Last time at Garlits for me was 2020. Took the 4:56 gears out of my fish 2 years after resto in 2016 and stuffed 3:55 gears back in, Much better cruiser but the fun factor was reduced. Likely should have put the 3:91 gears back in that were taken out back in 85. The 3800 Stall is still in it though!
Lol..... I'm pretty sure someone ordered it for track duty. The A31 performance axle package is a factory 3:91 suregrip gear set......this car was ordered to Go!!! 😎👍🏁🏁🏁 Btw, no air conditioning allowed in conjunction with the A31 PKG
My 4-gear '71 was sassy grass. My GF's '71 was top banana. Hers was a Torqueflight. Both 340 cars. Yours has a sanitary engine bag. Please turn the air cleaner lid/pie pan counter clockwise. 340 closest to the firewall, Four Barrel toward the radiator. Should be legible from the front of the car.
Thank you Walter, there is a tone of reasons to own this car from Dodge, same as the reasons to own your 66 and 69 GTO cars.....just plain history and so much fun !!!! 😎💯🇺🇸🏁🏁🏁
71 demon was the best ,best heads german cross and mines was 4 speed 8/34 rear it was gold bench seat 4 speed, and i had a 70 swinger gold that was a monster 030 over 833 4 speed posi rear i was beating 383 roadrunner, and big block Camaros with a 340 small block
Yes sir! You are correct.... California is turn down exhaust....btw, the Los Angeles plant had a zero trash policy and they threw the build sheets away at the factory......crazy

Thank you Frank.....yes, you are correct.....no scoops on Dusters from the factory 💯
Twister Dusters came with scoops.@@mattgause3178
That is one sweet car. Love it. You don’t talk about it much, but the body looks really straight with nice gaps. Under the hood looks amazing too.
I had a 71 in Plum Crazy with white stripes. Loved it and wish I’d kept it.

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the Butterscotch color. It is beautiful.
MOPARS RULE !!
MOPAR Tuff Steering Wheel on that Demon, I had one in my 1974 Charger.
Demon was the best especially 71
It has a 1972 am/fm radio, 72 was the first year available for this in any A-Body. 1971 was an AM only with chrome push buttons.
Ahhhh....very good

Had a 69 swinger 340 with factory am FM.

......340 giant killer
71 demon was the best ,best heads german cross and mines was 4 speed 8/34 rear it was gold bench seat 4 speed, and i had a 70 swinger gold that was a monster 030 over 833 4 speed posi rear i was beating 383 roadrunner, and big block Camaros with a 340 small block
If you want to see a big block owner have a fit just put him on the dragstrip next to a well running 340.
Yes sir,
I love all the major moose engines, but the 340 is my favorite
i had one like that was gold 4 speed and all black inside
i'm sure its a later add on, but wrong exhaust tips for a California built car.
Yes sir! You are correct.... California is turn down exhaust....btw, the Los Angeles plant had a zero trash policy and they threw the build sheets away at the factory......crazy
It's an eye grabber!

With a column shifter,Chryslers sport car down fall
Why is that car not a 4 speed.
Because it was automatic from the factory
D32 code 727 automatic with A31 performance axle package 3:91 suregrip from the Los Angeles factory March 1971
Thank you
Automatic is fine too! 727's were nice transmissions.
You have a lot of misinformation
Beautiful car
