JJ Cale just exuded coolness. He was so unassuming and soft-spoken that he just passed by most people without them ever knowing who he was. He deserved a hell of a lot more recognition than he got, but he didn’t look like it bothered him all that much. Rest in peace, JJ. ❤🤘

Another rare treat! Love his acoustic playing as well. Some of the songs he truly pics on with an acoustic are fantastic. King City comes to mind, and Drifter's Wife, etc. Wish there was an entire album of those. ☮

Hope John's smiling his most unguarded of smiles alongside Russell (Leon), Jimmy Karstein and all them muses of Tulsa... Just like the eternal take he wanted with his life partner CL and surrounded by a band of Tulsa Timekeepers and Tijuana Tio's y Tias..... He never was able to be as 'laid-back' as all the music scribes and fans called his music (even while he called himself a "nervous jerk".....)
