You’ll be fine - they are updating FAQs and adjusting quarterly - they are heavily invested in internal/external balance now which is new as AOs becomes a more competitive scene - you either see new armies boom or bust. It’s an ebb and flow, best advice is stick with an army you enjoy the asthetics of and how they play. You’d be surprised how good you can get when you’re fighting uphill and then get a new codex which makes your army 5-15% better. Some armies require finesse some just inherently cohesive in play style. I was the IronJaws player in the team that took Rune Axe. Quick correction: I didn't take 2 weeks off work to paint my army, what happened is I painted a 3d printed version of the army a 1st time in June for Goldcon, then we learned RuneAxe required GW models so I had to buy the army and paint it a 2nd time for Rune Axe ! Bonesplitters have the best win rate but a very low representation. Could that mean that the very few very good Bonesplitterz players are the reason for the success rather than the army itself?
It would be cool to see (and probably impossible) a breakdown of player experience in these. Like, stormcast is newbie friendly, but lower win rate. I’d be interested to see how many tournaments, on average, players see and break down the win rates between the groups. Again, probably impossible, certainly too much work, but would be interesting to see…
I can’t believe my beasts of chaos are doing so well. My first ever army (WFB) still got metal models in mine ha. Still play them to this day, nice to see them doing well in tournies.
I understand why you are dismissive of Krondspine lists, but I wish you wouldn't dismiss them when used by low performing factions. I also wish you had more of the data from the Rune Axe event - the winning team's lists don't actually tell us much about their overall performance.
New to the scene and learning the stats. How do you look through the various army lists from the honest wargamer stat page? Or where can I find the lists discussed in the video?

@@Campaigner82 Ah. That would explain it. They have been out aroubd 2 years and in that time gotten 3 battletomes and a pseudo update. While other armies have languished with years old battletomes. Its a point of bitterness for some.
so idoneths are the worst army getting 5-0s in tourney? but they dont get any point reduction on any balance.... nice. we had to wait 2 edittions for our tome to this lol. maybe on aos 5.0 when we get our next tome may be able to win tourneys? haha

i want the 3e OBR tome so bad. It's not even about the external balance, the book is boring to play and there are very limited build options.
