My concern with these inexpensive chippers has always been the absence of any feeding mechanism. This means they will only take perfectly straight branches. The problem is perfectly straight branches don’t exist in nature, so one has to make them straight first by using a chainsaw like you do. Even after that you have to stand there and guide the branches in, instead of bringing the next branch. A decent chipper with a hydraulic feeding mechanism, like Woodland Mills, costs about 30% more. Considering it makes the job about three times faster, I think the difference is worth it.

Yep, I'm definitely making me a cart for my discharged chips. That haze on the blades must be tree resin or sap.

I could really use one of them. Thanks for the information on it. I get lots of chips from friends that have tree business but I got lots of sticks that I need to chip.

I recently bought the Betstco WCX52 chipper which is basically the same. My first try was green red cedar limbs with needles. Clogged up the chute and rotor. Took some work to get it cleaned out but tried again with a 4-5" dead hickory limb. It immediately killed the Kioti CK3510 running PTO at 540 RPM... It DID NOT break the shear pin/bolt which I find strange. I concluded the anvil wasn't adjusted proper distance from the blades so back to the shop. I adjusted the anvil, checked the blades, greased everything and out for another try. This time it ate the 4-5" hickory log, 4-5" sassafras and walnut limbs I've thrown in it. No issues and seems to work flawlessly. I'm still concerned about the shear pin not breaking and will replace it before much use but for the price, it' does the job.

I think is my next purchase. Cutting is leaving me with so much waste, Gives me a way to get rid of it with out burning it and also as you said get a little cash back at the same time. I can use some of it for bedding for my chickens.

My BX42S arrived and the installation manual was not helpful. What is the secret to attaching the discharge chute? The two half ring sections are difficult to manipulate by myself-are they supposed to be centered around the fixed chute base? It appears to me you have to keep the bolts outside the detent slots, but what keeps the top chute from falling off the base?

nice homely informative video. Would have been nice to give the specs for the shear pin--diameter and length. The tech/product support at Titan/Palletforks is fairly primitive, when you can get through to them.

If you keep breaking shear bolts just weld it up, lol. Bad idea. I know a guy who did that. Dont do that. Nice video. Might be getting myself one this week.

$20 for a box of chips? Dang, no wonder I can't get them free from the power company anymore. I'd give $20 for a chipper truck load, but I've about concluded I will just have to make my own.

You could by some new blades with selling your chips. Can’t figure out what would be the best 2,000 dollar chipper for my tractor......

Add WD40 to the blades to clean them and you dont have to brush them. Just let it stay on them until you use it again.
