Your children’s’ enthusiasm is reminiscent of when my eldest son was only 2 years old. If ever I was busy he would be involved in anything I was doing. We had a lovely gentleman who lived next door, he was a retired builder and to keep himself active made children’s toys and furniture for charity shops. He loved having my son over and would give him menial tasks. One day the neighbour knocked on our front door and wanted to borrow my son for a few minutes. He had seen a photo of a sandpit excavator, a child’s toy and he made it and wanted to see how it would go with a small child.

The angle on the deflector at the end of the discharge chute makes a huge difference to the airflow and therefore to the ease of discharge of wet/dry materials from the chipping chamber.
