      Also quite fuel efficient for the distance and speed flown, consuming about half what a similar small jet of its size would consume, while having much more interior space. Everything about the Piaggio seems as good or better.

    So whats the differasnce between this plane and the Beech 2000A Starship?
    The Starship is 25 years old, has out of date non repaiable avionics and severe engine cooling issues because of the pusher turboprop design.

      The Piaggio seems far superior. The Starship was a unique aircraft for its design, but was really an experimental design which didn’t work well. The Piaggio’s design is amazingly efficient, fast, and comfortable. It uses laminar air flow to create exceptional lift with a small main wing because it also has lift from the forward wing and also the tail, which is unheard of in other aircraft. The fuselage provides substantial lift as well. Overall drag is consequently very low, so it achieves small jet speed using half the fuel, and is larger inside than similar class jets. Since the props point aft and are positioned well behind the cabin, the cabin noise is low, allowing conversation even from the cockpit to the rearmost seats. Cooling has never been a problem, and the prop blades are warmed by the exhaust so do not require special de-icing. Avionics were updated with Collins Proline 21 glass cockpit in the Avanti II model, and are very serviceable even comparable to far newer Garmin models for which parts can become unavailable after only 5 years. The main problem with the Piaggio is long wait times and unavailability of parts due to financial problems of the manufacturer. Were that not an issue, this would be close to a perfect aircraft. I do wish it could have auto-throttle (the engine maker won’t do it), a small galley with microwave oven (you can have a coffeemaker, I think), and a tiny APU (which may not exist). One can dream.

      @@HQBergeronHave you heard of upgraded or additional models being released in the future? I’ve seen experimental prop designs that could make the Piaggio even more silent, faster and more efficient if it can be implemented.

    Just finish m'y work week today and iam go back home with m'y bike 🚴 here in south of France 🇫🇷 when i Heard à strange engine motor plane in the sky...
    I Look in the air and i see à really bizarre plane or jet with "moustache" in front and two engine hélice on the back innstrangee configuration...
    Day pass and m'y curiosité put me here aand this vidéo was put on youtube yesterday 😅
    Now i know in fact it was à scooter 🛵 😁

    Fact 11: this is, from the perspective of someone that has been in the KSJC environs on my bicycle several times on takeoff or landing of this plane -- It has the most annoying sound I've ever heard from an overflying airplane, jet or prop.

    *DEATH TRAP*
    Remember the crash awhile back ad the reasons why? This plane is almost impossible to fly with one engine and has build quality issues. The crash proved it.
    The cause was the captain's failure to maintain directional control during landing with one engine inoperative. Contributing to the accident was an improperly installed clevis pin in the left engine power lever, the crew’s delay in accurately identifying their heading, and their subsequent selection of a runway with a strong crosswind."

      Actually, the P-180 series aircraft had for over 30 years a remarkable record of flying with zero fatalities until Oct. 22, 2022 when an Avanti II series went down with 6 people in the ocean 24 km east of Costa Rica. Flight tracking data indicated normal controlled flight from Mexico over land with an unusual controlled descent while continuing its heading and going out to sea until a sudden plunge after a turn from low altitude into the ocean, indicating a possible medical problem with the lone pilot.
      Perhaps you could tell us the location and date of the incident you mention. Many aircraft models have a variety of issues over their years in service, due to faulty design, poor maintenence, weather, and pilot error. Your conclusion does not seem to follow from the scanty information you have provided so far (a maintenence error complicated by pilot errors and possibly poor training), nor from anything else I have read over the years about the P-180 series. It has been quite the opposite of a death trap. Perhaps there is an unstated agenda involved here.

      @@HQBergeron 27 year retired CAF F18 pilot here. Flew CAF as both pilot and instructor before retiring and doing another 8 years flying commercial tubes of shame after that.     Propellers mean they propel things why don't you except they are propellers. That means all the rest didn't propel plans they pulled them. just a thought. lol

    The aircraft is very pretty as it naturally is. No need for special camera lenses to elongate the fuselage, or to widen the interior. Who are you trying to fool?. Nobody will put down 10 mill or so without extensive walkarounds, trial flights and the such. These presentation tricks (misrepresentations?) cheapen the marketing effort.
