Just a suggestion, different brushes does help out, especially compared to the walmart brushes that are hard to work with in my opinion when compared to other smoother brushes with different sizes. I've used them before for larger pieces, which they are pretty good for beginners. So all in all, you challenged yourself more than you thought as someone who stepped outside of their comfort zone. Great job!!

It wasn't a bad painting at all. We have done Bob Ross paintings for game nights before, they are difficult. We did find that putting a layer of liquid white or clear helps a lot. Great job though

Bob Ross never wore an apron. He always wore a blue button down shirt so that his shows couldn't be dated from one day to the next. It was so you could watch his show in any order you choose. He also used oil paints not acrylic. It is a wet on wet technique. I always thought it was amazing how he made complete paintings in less than 30 minutes.
