Only if it's a diesel engine. Because they are so much bigger than regular fuel vehicles. But if you're not in a diesel, no, you don't fill it. But you do take a tiny bet of oil and wet the top of the oil filter on thw gasket so the gasket won't stick to the oil filter housing unit, which would make it a little hard to come off.
Hey man love this video, I damaged my oil filter housing where oil pressure sensor threads (overtorque sensor), but I cant seem to find the housing part number or even the diagram on toyota website. Do you know what this part is exactly called and part number for the oil filter housing. I live in Canada.
Excellent video. Much appreciated.
Great video. Thanks for posting!
Should you prefill the top mounting oil filters with oil?

Do you need the seals or gaskets to be replace?
You would need a gasket for the oil filter housing unit
Anytime you replace something that has a gasket or seals, you would need to replace them as well, no matter how good they look.
Mines plastic and stuck, some one probably over torqued it on this fiat500. Im guessing its gonna crack when i try and get it off
Why not just change the gasket? Or hoses?
