Baby oil will also ruin your shoes in long term I used to do these and my Kobe's got killed after a year and 5 months it lost its grip and I've been putting detergent in the bottom and my shoes haven't lost no grip since I bought my shoes 3 years ago so use detergent over baby oil@@jake-ru7kx

But I'm sure the coach's aren't sharing this info with the kids who use it and rub their shoes and then use there hands to cover a cough and expose themselves to the chemicals inside.

The real answer is to scuff up the bottom with some sort of rotary tool. It freshens up the rubber on the bottom. They will feel brand new.
