Habibi's Treetop Rescue

Habibi, which is Arabic for "Beloved", was stuck at the very top of a pine tree for 3 days. The volunteer fire department came out on day 2 to "help" the owner, but as one fireman climbed a ladder leaning against the tree Habibi went all the way to the top of the tree.
The first 5 minutes of the video contains the highlights of the rescue including Habibi's reaction to opening a can of food in the tree, trying to bring Habibi down from her perch with the rescue net, and then ultimately cutting the limb she was on to bring her within reach so I could scruff her into the glove bag. The reunion with her human owner is included too.
I decided to do something different with this video and after the rescue highlights, I included all the footage of the 30 minute rescue in case anyone is interested in seeing the whole process, including conversations with the owner about what to try next, how long I tried each method of getting Habibi down, my quandary about how to cut the highest limb in the tree on a windy day, etc.
Incidentally, they way I cut the limb that Habibi was on is called a V cut and arborists often use that cut when removing the top of tree with the assistance of an overhead crane. The V cut prevents the limb from hinging in either direction which was perfect in this scenario. If Habibi had been on a non-vertical branch, the cutting method would have to be different and the limb would need to have been rigged so that it wouldn't snap under the cat's weight.
As you'll see in the video, it was a warm and sunny day, but also quite windy which made being at the top of the tree an extra exciting experience for both of us.

Sweet editing on this one Patrick; nice to see the preview vs the whole deal. Is that bdb new or you been on it a while now? I picked up an akimbo. Was considering the bdb though.

I tried a friend's BDB recently and liked it so much that I got my own. I really like the BDB - if only I could merge its benefits with the ZZ/RW combo! I haven't tried the Akimbo yet. How do you like it?
