I bet you hear Italians say "ma dai!" more than once. And I also bet they were probably gesticulating in a theatrical way when they were saying it😂. This expression is very common and can have different meanings. In this video you'll learn 2 cases: with an exclamation mark and with both question and exclamation mark.

You won't believe it!! In Croatian we use the exact same pronounciation for "Ma daj !" . It means something like "You're kidding me " or litterary what it means in Italian .
Aldo in Croatian "daj " means "give me "
Just google it and you'll see .
So strange but cool 🇭🇷🇮🇹
I do believe it, when I was in Croatia many years ago I remember hearing expressions that sounded Italian and thinking "did I just hear Italian?!", lol🤩🇭🇷🇮🇹
@@DolceVitaChannel We have a lot of words similar or same to italian. We also use Ciao, at least in my place, vino, bravo,Salata,Salto,Telefon,Vidimo se(vidiamo), we use ma but in other context, but very similar, we say more-means sea (mare) etc.... I really love Italian and started learning it with you and Marina!! It’s going great so far. I think italian is really easy for croatian people, because our pronounciation is similar! Mi amo Italia 🇮🇹 e grazie. Ciao di Croazia 🇭🇷!
@@iomorto I'm very happy to hear that, Marco🤩
Same in Serbian-ma daj. It is quite popular. I am not sure who borrowed from who. About ciao- that is actually an old Roman greeting for the slavic slaves. Cao comes from the word for Slavs: Sclaveni which became Schiavo - then Ciao. :)
@@frostflower5555 Nisam znao ovo za Ciao.
Super

Great, welcome to my channel😉
Ciao, Luca! Cosa tipo di gente parlano in Italiano archaico? Da dove vengono? E come parlo come loro? Vorrei parlare così perché voglio essere come i miei idoli, Dante e Vergil.
Ciao Jose, quasi nessuno parla l'italiano arcaico. Puoi trovarlo nei classici ma molti italiani non lo capiscono bene.
@@DolceVitaChannel Ohhh, grazie! Forse lo studierò ancora anche se non sarà utile solo perché semplicemente mi piace.
Luca can you translate this for me plz "are you free today so that we can go on a walk"
Ciao. "Sei libero/a oggi per una passeggiata?"😉
" ma dai " can I use it as " do not say " ?
yes, it's like in English "You don't say!"😉
io sono bangalegi
Bengalese😉
In Croatian we have “ma daj” which means do not say, really?! Don’t joke with me. We use it in that way
So, that's exactly 1 of the meanings I explained in Italian, great😉
Uopće nisam znao da i Talijani kažu Ma daj. Iznenadilo me .
@@krunoslavkovacec1842 😀
Come no = ma dai ?
hmmm, "come no" is like "sure, of course"...however, when used ironically I can see some similarity with the ironic "ma dai"😉
@@DolceVitaChannel Ok, vorrei ringraziarvi per tutti i video, in bocca al lupo!!
@@saedsaed7065 Prego, è un piacere my friend😉
