I had the honor of running into Terry O’Quinn in a small cafe in Haleiwa on Oahu’s North Shire. I garnered my courage and spoke to him while he was waiting for a to go order and he was so kind. It was after the show was off the air and he said he missed working.
I get choked up every time he smiles at 1:53, because that is the first time we've seen the REAL Locke since he was murdered by Ben. And he can't even stop himself from smiling at the one who argued with him and doubted him the most. I always felt, as much as Jack hated Locke sometimes, Locke just wanted him to listen and believe. He wanted that more than anything. And Jack becoming the man of faith after Locke's death... just wow. What an incredible show.
Everything you said is exactly how I felt when watching... I really missed the real Locke, and his genuine emotion! Jack became such a great character in the final season too.

Jack hated Locke in the end. He even shot him intentionally but the gun was empty.
