I bought this to get back into scale RC after about 15 years out, thinking it would be an easy fun project to improve on the over the next few months. The shell is amazing but everything else needs a lot of work. It may be 1/10 scale but given the size of a Jimny, 1/12 parts are a better fit. Already got some 1/12 axels, new drive shafts, 1.55" bead locks, motor and gearbox on the way. Chassis rails do have extra holes for 4-llink if the leaf springs don't work with the new axels. ESC and Radio gear will come after... so much for an easy project to get back into it!
These are all the questions and now answers I was hoping to find! A little more balance around the chassis wouldn’t hurt either but I’m on the same path. Owned a 1/1 samurai so it’s great to have it back in my life. Even if it’s 1/10 scale 🤘🏼

for its price point for a 10th scale i would say this is amazing....scale wise capability wise for a licensed product which other company can make a scale like this at this price point ?.....although not perfect they can probably make it perfect but would you pay 20, 30 40 50% more ?
Great review. I agree with all your points. It's a nice scale body. The suspension is better than the old leaf setup. But there are some features that should have been better. I really don't know what to think of the D62/64 though..!
Hi. Yeah. Sorry. Was on a tight time schedule. Least I got the dimensions in. TBH most 1/10 models arnt exactly to scale in one way or another anyway. 😎👍

I just received my Jimny and that rear driveshaft shudder is worrying. I took it apart trying to install some turn signal lights and noticed that the dashboard is very loose, annoyingly so as it keeps falling out when putting the car back together. They should have fastened it even just with a single screw.... The inner bumper lamp covers are in the way and have no holes to lead wired lights through, but at least they are removable. I hate that battery tray btw! 😂
Hi. Thanks. Hadn't noticed that with the dash or rear light. Strange as they usually have holes for LEDs. Got to Reposition the battery and workout a mod for the front suspension. 😎👍
@@RCModelsandMods the dash sucks if you remove it to install the dash sticker... mine wouldnt stay put and the "clip" that is suppose to hold it doesnt do the job at all, i glued mine
Thanks for the video! I wonder if the issue with the rear axle shudder is the driveshaft? I had the same issue with my WPL C34 and swapped the front and rear driveshafts and the shudder moved to the front. I replaced the bad driveshaft with a metal one and the issue went away.
Hi. Thanks. I know what the problem is now. The shafts are out of synch; the annotation of the UJ joints match at each end. You need to disconnent one end and rotate a quarter turn. There are videos out there showing the issue. 😎👍
What I'm curious about is if/when the body and interior will be released as spares.The vehicles WPL chooses to produce are exactly what I'm interested in, and their attention to detail on their hardbodies is awesome. But I find my crawling sessions hit the limits of their stock chassis designs very quickly. I'd rather put their bodies on an Axial or Injora chassis from the get go instead of trying to wring more capability out of WPL stock underpinnings. And I'd rather not have another WPL chassis laying around for no reason.

Battery needs to be installed in the front. If theres no upgraded front brass for this vehicle then I would t by it. You could always add brass rims and brass rings in the front only.. that might work. Upgrade motor and esc
so? whats your problem with wpl? it’s a good brand for people who arent willing to spend 500 or even 1000 dollars on a rc car, it’s just one for people who are starting to get in to the hobby or people who want a cheap and good rig to work on
