She always struggles with her health because of her weak immune system going through earlier cancer, hepatitis. That's why she had been suffered from chronic pneumonia. This version of "You raise me up" is one of her legendary performances from those period. Such an inspiring person she is. Thanks for your reaction. I really enjoyed it!
You Raise Me Up" is a song originally composed by Irish-Norwegian duo Secret Garden. The music was written by Secret Garden's Rolf Løvland and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. After the song was performed early in 2002 by the Secret Garden and their invited lead singer, Brian Kennedy, the song only became a minor UK hit.

The arrangement of the song is the part that truly shines in this performance. Beyond all the technical elements she included in this stage, I think it is useful to know that Sohyang stated that this performances tells her personal story. As a devout Christian, it is presumably her relationship with her Creator. This lends more context to the arrangement from the initial light almost conversational to the latter part with power and conviction. The fact that she was sick with a chest infection and was told by her doctor not to sing or even really talk just before this performance and she still gave a performance like THAT is just mind-blowing. She also knows herself, her voice and her body SO well. She wasn't feeling well and couldn't quite go all out the same way she usually does, but she knew exactly how much to hold back to stay in control while singing through her illness without losing what it is that makes her so amazing. If you'd never heard her before, you'd never guess in a million years that this isn't her "best", as it is still just SO incredible.

It is widely known that she was not feeling well during this performance and her doctor told her not to do any singing as she is suffering from pneumonia. Maybe that is the reason for her ending, that is pretty short for her standard - or maybe it is a stylistic choice as was suggested by you
yes, I also think, it was too short at the end note, but after the all amazing things before that, any human would be so tired, sick or not... heard that she was advised not even to talk let alone sing few hours before this performances
still she did this crazy runs and high notes to like always...!
I could tell at some points where I noticed she seemed to be holding back abit. So ye that might be the reason why. Still lots of credit to her for doing a performance like THAT, even tho she was not feeling well! Very impressive, takes alot of heart! =)
yeh she was quite sick when she sang this, was advised to not sing not long before the show. but she is a warrior and went on anyway. And it was a chest infection as well!

@@jrgenstenvik54 I have a very good memory of another song Secret Garden performed in Eurovision! Nocturnal or something, right? Loooved that song when I was younger, and still do! :) So You Raise Me Up is a Secret Garden original! Interesting! :)
