Badass man, stunning bike! I have the regular 2001 CBR929 and love it! I have had new bikes as well 2018 Harley Fatbob 114, 2019 KTM 1290, and 2010 CBR600rr. The CBR929 is my baby, have sold the others but will never part with her. She’s just too good and she only has 16k miles on her so plenty of life left!
That bike is Brad's baby. Sad to say the bike is up for sale. We live in a populated area and he has had too many close calls from stupid drivers. He has been riding bikes his whole life and he said he has never felt this defensive while riding ever. He is really sad that he is selling that bike, but he rather be safe then sorry. Good thing we are building him a 929RR track build. If you are looking for a 929RR Erion Racing Edition just let us know. We would love it to sell it to one of our subscribers to keep it in the family. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@alwayssomethinggarage794I am not looking for another bike at the moment for that same exact reason, too many idiots on the road looking at their phones and not the road. If I have to run errands and go into the city im in the Audi or truck. Good luck with the sale!
Great videos!, I bought a 929, built it up for the track, (Even got an ex Erion FX Ohlins shock off of maybe Bostroms bike, or Roberts) Anyway down the rabbit hole I go! looking at boreing to 980cc. I'm trying to find the followup video to your engine build after you had it stripped down, the bearing selection was discussed, is there a video with the engine assembly with the Je pistons you acquired? love to see it and get feedback on how the bike performed after! I'm in expert class at local club, the 929's been on the podium every race I've entered thus far. it's been opening a few eyes what a well setup bike can do when ridden hard. I made a few $20,000 bikes look silly. with my $4000 project bike.
Thx for video, but I'm 6 2 240ish. I had a 03, loved that bike was a little slow back then but I'm also 40lbs heavier. Wondering if it's big enough for me And comfortable because back, knees etc issues. Thx for feed
@juicy9592 I had a cbr9299rr, ,my favorite sportbike I ve had. And was way more comfortable then any new bike. But I'm older and a bigger person 6 2 250. I have never hit 200mph. Fastest every was 176mph on my 929rr. I wish they name the blackbird still. I'm thinking a hayabusa, cause looks comfortable.
No it’s not anything to be worried about. Brad said that it’s only when you are really pushing the bike to it’s limit. For those older years you should be able to get a great bike and enjoy it! Thanks for checking out the video.
I was considering buying this bike myself, but was consernd about the height and all, I dont know if you said it, but how tall are you? Thanks for the preview.
So my pops has had his 01 929 since 2002. And I’ve been riding it the past few years. I’m 5’11” and I completely flat foot the bike perfectly. That’s because my dad had the seat lowered just so he can fit on it. Pops is roughly 5’8” and he has to tippy toe whenever we come to a stop on it. So stock height may be a slight issue if someone were to be on the shorter side.
@@pressure2386 thanks for response :) I'm 6'5 myself and was curious about it, I'll try it and see, might go for streetbike though, as the sports ones I have tried, was too small.
@@dewgaming9479 I haven’t had the pleasure to sit on it stock height, but it might just be fine for someone as tall as you. Only thing I do find quite annoying is that the pegs are pretty far high so your knees would probably sit much higher than others. But besides that, it’s one of the more comfortable sports bikes I’ve been on. It’s an amazing piece of machinery for what it is in all honesty
But yeah being 6’5, I could definitely see why you may be having some fitment issues on them. At 5’11, the cbr feels absolutely perfect for me at its lowest settings on stock spring. Hell I’d say I could go even a bit higher and still be comfortable
