From the youtube videos from India I've watched over the past few years I think that 80% of the Moto Gp riders in the grid should be from India.
Riding a week in the Himalayans is on my bucket list and I would consider it my final exam after riding 55 years. Hopefully you both will return safely and uninjured.
I've rode my motorcycle greater than 190 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats and I think a week of riding in the Himalayans to be more of a challenge.
I always think this when I see videos of driving in India; it’s a constant race track🏎️🏎️🏎️
Now there’s another dream: Bonneville salt flats!
@@FreddieDobbs Freddie I know you are a busy fellow but during August 5-8th this year I'll be running for the 8th time riding a Rocket 3. If you get down there I'll put you on the crew with a front seat to watch the action. Last year my record attempt ended in crashing a 260 horsepower Rocket 3, hopefully this year I'll get it done.
I spent 18 months of my life traveling in India and it was without any doubt the best and most glorious time of life. The only thing I imagine that could top that is to it all on a motorcycle. I’m excited for you and Monica for what you’re about to experience 😊

Seeing this makes me glad I moved to Cumbria last year .
I remember a time when no one wanted to live on the island. There was only one bus route on and off that was it.
I watched hsbc tower going up, and could not believe any business wanting to relocate there from the city of London.
Now Hsbc has decided to go back to central london. The place has come a full circle.
Bet it was far more interesting when it was the original docks, safe journey you two, enjoy.
I used to work there many years ago...before Canary Wharf......when I went back, years later, I was lost....awful

Freddie, I hope you make it to Sri Lanka. Its both beautiful and eye-opening. We spent a week travelling around the whole country on part of our honeymoon 20 years ago (by car with a local driver who kept falling asleep at the wheel but that’s a whole other story) and the roads were often a complete free-for-all. I would love to do it on a bike now but definitely travel by some other form of transport first to get an idea of how they use the road and try not to travel after the sun has gone down - we often found ourselves being blinded by 3 or more sets of headlights coming towards us at night! It’s no joke when you’re not even sure what vehicles they are (often lorries) and which path between them you should take! I guarantee it will be a memorable experience and can’t wait to see your adventures.

@hulkhatepunybanner Using a phone is way less conspicuous when out in a cafes and social settings. It does a great job. It alows them to go largely unnoticed when filming.

Yes, but everOne has their phones constantly in their handy all the time. Nobody bats an eye filming like insta stories reels whatsoever…. People will just ignore that.

I loved my short solo trip to India many years ago. It was a complete culture shock and I was plunged into a world that was totally alien to me. Must say you’re either very brave or very stupid to be going to ride a motorbike over there. The roads when I was there were totally chaotic, seemingly lacking in any rules or reason.

I was first in Maharastra where roads were frightening then finally had a week in Goa where everything was a bit more laid back. Good luck anyway!

I recently came to the UK, in the Walthamstow area, and I have just passed through the Canary Wharf area on the D6 and D8 bus. The area looks spectacular at night. I will definitely take a day to explore the it. Thanks for sharing this amazing video.
The more you show us of London and that includes Canary wharf the more glad i am living 250 miles away. On our doorstep we've got The Lakes, the Dales, the Trough of Bowland etc would i swap that for a concrete jungle not a chance

This brings back memories of my time in the UK, especially London. I have passed through Canary Wharf several times (to catch the overground or metro to Greenwich Cutty Sark or Lewisham). It never struck me of being safe necessarily but now that you say, possibly you have a valid point. There are many areas of London that just smells of crime and anti-social activities. To name a few places like Streatham, Langdon Park, Brixton and Stonebridge Park. However, as someone from Mumbai, I find London fascinating and what struck me the most is how massive the city really is and how well all the locations are connected. Simply out of this world.

I’m watching this from Pushkar in India. I’ve been here riding around Rajasthan for the last 3 weeks. I was also here in Sept for a month riding in North India, which is always an amazing experience. Most decent rental shops will ask for an International licence, I’ve never been asked to show it at any check points though.

the weather varies from north to south there is summer in the south now temp hit upto 35-40C in North there is winter.

It's an unequal society, some parts are more unequal than others and thats just in South London. India takes this principle to an entirely higher level. I'd describe the traffic system there as full-on 'go for it'. Just a small piece of advice, before taking to the roads, spend sometime as a passenger in a Auto-Rickshaw, to get a feel for how things go on the roads. Believe me, it'll be eye opening, but you'll be a little bit wiser but no less aprehensive before going under your own direction. Finally, always give way to trucks. The roads between towns and cities may seem calm and simple to negotiate, but in actual fact they're even more dangerous than the chaos of city traffic. Always be prepared to move out of harms way. Have a brilliant time both of you and take it easy.
Yes, and watch out for the cows, camels, elephants etc on the roads!

What you guys need is a dedicated vlogging camera. Like a canon or a sony or the new insta action camera they have with the flip up screen. I've been using the single lens mode on my 360. If nothing else memory cards and battery swaps are easier than charging a phone and less risk of breaking your phone. Good luck with the trip.

If you’ve ever been to Toronto, then you will feel at home in Canary Wharf. The underground city was influenced by the same in Toronto - I’ve worked here for much of my working life and STILL get hopelessly lost when dipping underground. I remember watching it being built when I was a kid, fascinated by the architecture- it summed up the 1980s perfectly!! Very jealous of your upcoming trip to India - I may well end up doing the same next year to celebrate my 50th. You’ve inspired me!!!!

India!! Wonderful place with absolutely wonderful people. From my experience travelling there many times on business be very careful about water to avoid stomach bugs: Don't eat anything that has been washed (salads, fresh fruit with skins), don't have ice in any drinks, drink water from a bottle only and ideally be a vegetarian while you're there and have hot, freshly cooked food ideally. Enjoy!!

in Mumbai Def Try Bentleys in Colaba, affordable...great location , "rustic "old Brit vibe ( not recommended for food ..many retaurants very close by) ..Sea green hotel Marine drive is a great spot -could be lucky with room rates if you go directly...

I have to say I’m really looking forward to your impressions of India. Personally, I’ve never been interested in India until I saw Itchy Boots excellent travels in the North of the country. Did a trip around India years ago Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Goa-Karnatika- Tamil Nadu, was amazing, I’m sure India will blow your senses enjoy, try to get to Hampi if you can.
I loved my time in Canary Wharf (9 years) and yes it was stupid money, but exceptionally long days, leave home at 5:30 and get home at 21:00. Very safe and very expensive!
Enjoy your trip to India. I’ve been once and had the worst Delhi belly ever, so bad BA wouldn’t let me on the flight to fly home! I doubt you will have the same experience as that was mid 90’s and things have moved on since then!

I'm really looking forward to your videos from India! I love the place, having travelled there 6 times during the 80s , spending about a year all together. At the time I really admired the RE Bullets and met several Westerners riding around India on them, something I always wanted to do, but ended up using public transport . Buses and trains with the general population. Mumbai or Bombay as it was called then, was ( and probably still is) by far the most expensive city to stay. I actually appeared in a Bollywood movie as an extra. I was paid 100 Rupees for the day and fed very well. The movie starred Anil Kapoor, star of Slum Dog Millionaire. The movie's title is Humlaa.The first day I was there I stayed in a relatively cheap hotel- no private bathroom. I was shaving early that morning and a man stuck his head into the bathroom and asked me if I wanted to be in a move! Certainly an unforgettable experience! Have a fantastic trip!
Bit diferent to the dockland that I remember, no coffee shops then, good eel and pie though.:-) Seen some videos of Mumbai traffic - good luck.
It’s 300 miles south to goa / south goa and a bit more south to Kerala , fish curries down their are AMAZING, drink all soft drinks with a straw, and don’t eat any salad or raw food, it will have been washed in tap water, - just hot cooked food that heat will have killed the bugs, be careful on the roads, we want to see you well and more videos in future, and… ride south….that’s all I have to say about Mumbai… 😉
