    1:20 - My 1996 4WD S110P 5 speed Hijet has the storage cubby under the central dash. I have the TwinCam Appare trim version. Appare is Japanese for admirable, commendable, wonderful, wow or bravo.
    9:50 - The second Hijet you showed also has the cubby. I think all of the S100P and S110P have the cubby.
    Love those Hijets!

      Ahh okay I was hoping you commented, good to know they have that cubby, looks very useful.

      @@Waybeforethefame - I'm going to need the cubby tray for the cell phone and USB charging cables after installing the double DIN Android stereo that will replace the Japanese AM radio and a single DIN cubby hole.

    The automatic seems cool and with the dump it's a home run. 😊👍 I 💕 Kei trucks.

    These Hijets have the electronically controlled transmission that is prone to bad capacitors in the control unit - I'm not sure the one you drove was shifting when it should. 1997 and later Hijets like mine have a different, 100% hydraulic transmission. Acceleration to 50 km/h or so is not bad and it will cruise for hours at 100 (this will not, however, be comfortable for the occupants).

      this one is a 1995, and those shifting clips are with me having my foot all the way down not driving normally

    Pretty cool truck, I prefer the true PTO dump you find on the older Minicabs. Mine works hard almsot every day and never complains. I loaded one of these electric over hydro dumps and ended up having to pull some of the load out with my tractor in order to get it to lift. I would love an automatic though just for the ease of use when other people are around trying to help.

    Awesome to see an automatic, hoping to pick up an automatic kei van at some point. Thanks for the warning about auto Subarus, didn't know that. A different video I caught showing off a Kei on UA-cam the guy was saying the Suzuki Keis had a reputation as the most reliable and had the best engines, any comment on that?

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  Рік тому +2

      In my opinion none of the brands are the "Most Reliable" to me they're all 25+ year old cars. I think factors I would consider are features, like power windows, 4wd, interior. And then parts availability but even that is kinda easy

      @@Waybeforethefame yeah they're all almost 30 year old vehicles that end up being revved out here on American roads. I wouldn't put any brand over another because of that. I think it mainly depends on the mileage and how hard you drive it, as far as reliability.

    The problem with Kei vehicles with automatics is that those early generation automatics are incredibly inefficient and Kei cars don't exactly start with a lot of power. You are basically throwing away 20% of your power (and fuel economy) to spin the converter on the auto trans.

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  Рік тому

      idk about all kei vehicles, but I can agree with that I had an automatic suzuki wagon r and that car auto was one of the quickest cars ive owned and it was non turbo

      A kei truck would be great for small business advertising but for a clothing brand, I think a kei van would be even better and more practical. Both max out the cute/cool factor. I stopped to let a car park ahead of me at Barnes & Noble yesterday and I pulled in the space next to them in my Hijet mini truck. Parking is super easy. US parking spaces are huge by mini truck standards. I got out and immediately heard a high pitched woman's voice saying, "I LOVE IT!" and her two daughters were both chatting about it as well. I expected guys to express some interest in my mini truck but I wasn't prepared for women being so interested. Women approach me at the gas station and grocery store to comment or inquire about the Hijet. The response from everyone is universally positive. Everyone likes the mini truck. It grabs people's attention. Put your brand on a kei van and get some great positive association advertising. Bonus points if you have it painted or wrapped in an eye catching hot color like pink or yellow or lime green, put eye lashes above the round headlights, etc. Kei cars are fun. My kei truck is also surprisingly practical.

    OMG
    This blue kei-truck is having problems shifting gears. Definitely the AT-control Module has failed.
    The cause is a typical blowing up capacitors.

      it wasn't having problems shifting, Only time it hesitated is with my foot completely down going 0-50km which most people aren't doing on a 27 year old transmission
