The moment that defined the movie for me, that made it go from enjoyable to actually a very good movie, was the line "This is Alan Parish's house, I'm just living in it." It told me that the makers of the movie aren't trying to do something better than the original, they're not trying to one-up it, or modernize it, they're just telling a new story in a world you already know. And, as crazy and impossible as it seems, the sequel was also really good. I think I like this one better, but the sequel is still a solid movie.

Watching a movie with you is great. This version is great and the next one is great with a twist and I hope they make a fourth Jumanji ... thump thump thump thump
Great video, great reaction (as always). The only thing I disagree with is the trailer, which I found hilarious. I went to see this in the cinema, fully expecting to be disappointed - thinking that all the fun was what was crammed into the trailer and that the movie would only be ok, if that even. Luckily, it is AWESOME!!
It's also worth pointing out that Colin Hanks isn't supposed to be an older Nick Jonas. Nick Jonas was just how the game character looked and the character's appearance has nothing to do with how the actual player looks.

As a kid, my very favourite film was Condorman. I am now three days shy of 40 and in my entire life I have never heard another soul even mention that film let alone admit watching it numerous times. So, for that reason (plus the awesome reaction) I'm gonna subscribe :)
I know you saw the original Jumanji so I just wanted to point out this fun fact: Did you know that Young Sara was played by Broadway actress Laura Bell Bundy. It was an honor meeting her recently since she’s Broadway royalty and is such a queen. Laura Bell Bundy was in Hairspray, Wicked, and Legally Blonde (as the title role of Elle Woods). I also loved this version of Jumanji too because it had an intricate twist on it.

Cassie is what I have been missing in my life. 💗 She brings me so much joy and happiness 🥰
I love this film its amazing tho if I were to play devils advocate there is 1 thing I'm kinda sad never carried over from the first film, the original Jumangi could easily pass for a horror film as the board game acts almost like at times you could argue it had a mind of its own once you picked up the dice there was no stepping away; if you accidentally drop the dice the game would just assume your rolling and if you simply place them down the game would punish you for cheating; in a way the board game was almost like the puzzle box from hellraiser something enticing than draws you in and looks harmless that secretly conceals a terrible horror
The place in the game where they had the margaritas was built by Alan Parish which was the guy from the original Jumanji.
''I'm not gonna tell you how old I am'' Don't worry, those that watched one of the LOTR videos and paid attention knows ;-)
18:33 This is an easter egg/reference to the original Jumanji. The elephant was Alan Parrish's/Robin Williams pawn in the film.
"That guy" who you obviously weren't impressed with, is Colin Hanks.
It's also worth pointing out that Colin Hanks isn't supposed to be an older Nick Jonas. Nick Jonas was just how the game character looked and the character's appearance has nothing to do with how the actual player looks.
@@Tantalus010 the sequel makes that even clearer
Previously seen on "Popcorn in Bed" as the new Lieutenant in the Band of Brother episode "The Last Patrol." :)
@@stevenhenry9605 And son of Tom Hanks - producer of Band of Brothers and all around cool dude.
One of my favorite movies. The cast is amazing.👍
Jack Black as a teenage girl was the absolute best!
He was also enjoyable as a shark, school teacher, and a dragon warrior too.
Love this movie and the tribute to the original.
Alex is lucky there is only one mosquito in Jumanji :-D
So I wanted to watch this reaction but then thought I'd enjoy it much more if I knew the film you're reacting to. So I went and watched it and I had SO much fun. As you, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was and so I thank you for being the reason for watching this :-) And of course thank you for your reaction. You really are the best movie-reactor I've yet found and I truly enjoy coming with you on the movie-journeys. I'd suggest SO many movies to you if I could but so far, I'm hoping someone on Patreaon will suggest them anyway.
This one surprised me in a good way too. I was expecting some cheesy half-wit remake or reboot, and instead we got a fun, funny and exciting adventure comedy with solid performances all around!
I've never heard of anyone else saying they watched Condorman multiple time like I did as a kid. Most people have never even heard of the movie lol
"Am a map doctor" lol love it
As a kid, my very favourite film was Condorman. I am now three days shy of 40 and in my entire life I have never heard another soul even mention that film let alone admit watching it numerous times. So, for that reason (plus the awesome reaction) I'm gonna subscribe :)
I suggest putting subtitles when you mute the sound.
Love watching sutff with you, cheers.
You think they did Nick Jonas dirty? LOL. How could you say that about Tom Hanks's son?
Colin Hanks was great in the Fargo TV show, and Dexter.
Ruby Roundhouse is played by Karen Gillan, who also plays Nebula in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
