Nate: "If you are afraid of something, instead of running away from it, try running towards it." 1) Standing rather than sitting - Daily mobility and posture. Life saver Nate. I'm somewhat older than yourself. A VERY stressful job. Number crunching all the time. Result = My heart failed I'm extremely lucky to be alive today and even more so able to read write and walk, all of which I had to re educate my body to do! My brain was 63 minutes without oxygen. Hard to believe, and yes I'm part of medical study because of it. I'm an organ donor and was hooked up to a machine that kept my blood flow at "low" 53 minutes after dying and being brought to the hospital for "spare parts". I could have saved 5 lives. Lungs/Heart valves/Liver/Kidneys. For some reason I revived and spent 3 weeks in a coma before finally having a Ventricular heart pump and defibrillator implanted in my body. I depend on a computer and batteries to circulate my blood and physical exercise to oxygenate it without which I can only lie in bed while waiting for a heart transplant. Move - Walk / I walk 5 miles a day 5 days a week now. If you don't, and you smoke (I gave up years ago) then you will probably die of a heart related illness. Mine just stopped. Never been ill before, never had symptoms. It just stopped and I was lucky enough to be with a friend who knew what to do. O'wise I would be six feet under. The rest makes sense and I find it's amazing that you can make a living off such obvious comments. But they are all true. All the best and I wish you full success like you are on track for in your life. If only Internet and UA-cam had existed 40 years ago ... PS: Airplane mode !!! Hmmm. I WISH. I must be reachable 24/24 and 7/7 in case a heart turns up ... Simply ignore e-mail and phone calls. I live like when portable phones didn't exist and if I'm "not there", I don't answer. No answering machine. e-mail: well it's useful, but again. That is read first thing in the morning and the day is planned upon some of them. The rest ? = NOTHING is urgent (or phone me then) because it will only ever be read the next morning. Cheers.
I want to add to your list! I think breaking the day down into segments and having gratitude within that segment is good. Like a daily shower, driving to the store. Finding gratitude in mundane tasks not only makes them less mundane it's a game changer for your mood!

During the summer, I had a good workout, ran in the morning. Healthy diet, good sleep, etc. With online school, I stopped working out and running, lost sleep, skipping meals. Stuck in a chair, eyes glued to the computer, and my mind is filled with stress. I'm planning to fix myself during winter break and make a better routine.
The drone shot at 7:34 when you can barely see yourself anymore - felt like a reminder to how small we really are in the grand scale of things. Seems very fitting for talking about meditation and awareness, love it!
The book "Atomic Habits" tells how to build a collection of incremental positive daily habits that compound into changing your life. We need to (1) build healthy habits and maybe even more important (2) stop doing things that have outlived the reason we originally adopted them. It's the best book I've read all year, wish I'd read it years ago.
These are great, Nate! I subscribed to Morning Brew a few months ago after you mentioned it. I agree, so many people meditate in their own way without knowing it.
Learn spanish Nate, you bring a lot of value and there is a large community of spanish speakers who will enjoy watching your content. Regards from Ecuador.
Great advice. Super stressed out today and watching this video while on the treadmill trying to burn off some stress, and about a third of these applied greatly today.
So much wisdom for such a young man. I see big things for this guy and he’s a solid role model to all the young people out there trying to find their way
Hey Nate, I love your content & how simplicity seems to be a huge part of your life. You are so inspiring. I’m a PA resident too, if you choose to learn Spanish I will be happy to help you as this is my native language. Best wishes for 2021!

Hi! Multilingual person here (and self taught on 2/4 of them). If you want to learn a new language pick one that you're interested in the most! Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most. So with the good habit you can got what you want most
Your habits determine what your life will look like in the future 👌👏

Yes! Read the book "Atomic Habits," it's all about this - it will change your life.

*Habits > Discipline > Motivation*
Right. Motivation is just an emotion; fickle and ever changing. Commitment is where it's at
