    All mattresses have some form of support system, whether that be springs or dense foam. Air beds use trapped air to provide adjustable support, when and where you need it. We have reviewed 4 different air beds, with 4 different air support concepts and done a side by side comparison to help you determine the best fit for you! Three of these mattresses use air chambers while one uses air pods.

    In 2001, during our first year of marriage, my wife and I bought 2 twin beds from Select Comfort. They were on sale for $200 each. We used one for over 20 years, and the other is still going strong. Never had a more comfortable bed. No crappy foam on top to make me hot or reduce the firmness I desired. No stupid bells and whistles associated with "smart" technology. Heck. Our controls didn't even display a number! But it didn't matter. We set the firmness once, and they never lost air, even during rough sex. Plus, we never felt movement when the other one moved around because they were two separate beds rather than a single bed. Yet both beds still fit onto a single king-size frame. Speaking of which, we bought a solid birch sleigh bed frame that is 350 pounds over 20 years ago, and it has never made a creak; I doubt it will ever creak! Best quality bed and mattresses anyone ever had. Just wish Select Comfort (now Sleep Number) still offered the basic no frills mattress we got from them back in 2001.

    I must comment on this - I stayed overnight at a Hilton Garden Inn - woke up the next morning feeling like I had the best sleep ever and left me feeling like I have never felt before - curious I had to find out about the mattress I had just slept on - It was the Natural Form Mattress - This mattress is absolutely THE best mattress you will ever encounter - Yes it's expensive - My answer is "What is a truly good night sleep worth?" - Priceless! - Twelve years later I'm on my second purchase of the Natural Form Mattress - Check into the mattress - Do your research - Compare - IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

      Hi Lazara, thanks for watching! I would recommend either ReST or Air-Pedic. ReST has 5 zones of support on each side of the bed and Air-Pedic has 3 zones on each side. Both are great options.

    I have a 17 year old sleep number bed which I'd like to replace due to age. But Sleep Number no longer makes beds without at least 2 inches of foam. I have a bad back and I can't have that soft foam on top. Do any of these beds come with an option to have no foam on top? Thanks.

      Hi, out of the four Air Beds we tested we like ReST and Airpedic the most. If you are looking for three zones of adjustable support, without the technology, Airpedic is great! If you are looking for real time automatic adjustment with five zone support, ReST would be our pick. Thanks for watching!

      @@ASLReviews I don’t know what a Rest air bed costs, but after reviewing other videos and website, we’re going with Aire-Pedic. I like the three zones per side, the great warranty, build quality and that it’s made in the USA. We’ve had a sleep number for 17 years and have spent several hundreds dollar in replacement parts. It’s now falling apart, so time to get a new one.

    My main question about the airbeds et al, do they "bounce" like an air mattress? We tried a sleep number bed once and it just felt like a pillow top over an air mattress... Turned us off right away. But I feel like the new ones with the different foams should solve this issue we had.
    Thoughts?

    • @ASLReviews
      @ASLReviews  2 роки тому +1

      In our opinion, the air beds haven’t really been “bouncy,” per se. But we do feel that Airpedic does have really nice pressure relieving foam above the air chambers in the 800 and 850 models, which should absorb a good amount of motion.

    Hi,
    I need to know which one you have? I purchased a sleep number in 2004 it was a great bed but after the trial you have to paid for returning and that was a lot. Now I’m ready to buy my next bed, I had 2 already that I have returned either because is way to firm and the other way to hot. Now I’m thinking again to buy a sleep number but the only thing I do not like is the middle piece for years I being dealing with them but is no used. Which one you recommend, I believe watching this video that the Air Pedic is a best choice. Can you please help me making my choice...

    • @ASLReviews

      Hi Adriana, thanks for watching! We would definitely recommend the Air-Pedic, as they have the separate lumbar support. ReST is another great option, which has five zones of support on both sides of the bed. We feel that both are great options. Thanks again and let us know if you have any other questions.

    I currently have a 14 year old sleep number bed on an adjustable base. Will the airpedic mattress be compatible with this base? I'm really leaving towards airpedic but I don't want to have to buy a new base too. The 850 is currently 50% off right now.

      @@danamorgan5062 Great! I selected it based on your review and am very glad I did. I love it and can adjust to adapt to however my back or shoulders feel that day, while my wife can adjust hers the way she usually likes it, and that is really ideal. My wife really likes it, although she wants some foam... she likes pillow tops. The only problem was that It did arrive with one poorly adjusting chamber (on my side of the bed, of course), so I called and they sent me a new one that I replaced (it was faster than having them send someone to put it in). It was easy to replace, but it did take 5 days to arrive. Also, I was a little worried because a lot to most of their positive reviews were for customer service before the bed arrived... But I am pleased and very highly recommend it. I think your review was right on!

    I’m looking for which bed might provide the most pain relief. I used to be a side sleeper until my hips started hurting...most like from fibromyalgia. As well, I have severe, chronic pain lumbar and cervical. Maybe I need the bed with the most adjustability for the most independent regions...as pain changes and moves around the body. Any suggestions which beds to hone in on. Also...what about adjustable bases? I tried the Sleep Number beds and found even slight base adjustments helped with pain relief. Are they all compatible with adjustable bases. Much appreciated. Your review was extremely informative!

      Hi, If you've looked at Sleep Number you will likely also be looking at the Air-Pedic range and the ReST Performance mattresses, both are great beds to compare against. ReST at this time does not have their own adjustable base but it does, however, support them, as for Air-Pedic they do have an adjustable base, unfortunately as of right now, we have yet to review this product personally, happy hunting!

    • @ASLReviews
      @ASLReviews  4 роки тому +2

      @@kapguy8890 Hi! Both the Air-Pedic 800 and ReST are great beds. For us, Air-Pedic stands out because it is made with CertiPUR-US foams, which reduces the amount of harmful chemicals that are emitted from the bed over time. We also love the custumization offered by Air-Pedic, they will work with you to adjust the foam layer on top if you find it is too soft or too hard for your preferences. ReST is a great option if you really love cutting edge technology and like to outfit your home with smart products. ReST does have a few additional air chambers over Air-Pedic, however, both beds offered great support.

In general, we found that the adjustable air beds with multi-chamber air systems, such as Air-Pedic and ReST offered better support and customization than the single chamber found, for example, in the Sleep Number. Though ultimately it depends on what your priorities are for a new bed. If we can help you narrow anything down, please let us know. Thanks for watching!

      The reason why Air-Pedic, Rest Bed, and Ghost Smart Bed are recommended over the other beds is they have more air chambers. Medical Beds have over 20 separate chambers. When you compare a bed with 1 chamber versus 3 or 5, those will win every time. With the extra chambers you help reduce pressure points.
